Ikan STRATUS Complete Cage for Sony a6500 Camera Body

While the STR-A6-RIG is a meticulously designed camera cage from Ikan, it's specifically tailored to seamlessly fit the Sony a6500, as well as other compatible models like the a6300 and a6000. This robust cage is composed of three primary components: a top handle, a base, and the camera frame, each serving a unique purpose.

The top handle securely attaches to a genuine NATO rail, fortified with two hard stops to prevent accidental dislodging. It boasts 40 1/4-20 mounts when bare, but can be customized with Ikan grips or even bicycle handles for a personalized touch. The handle also accommodates a 15mm rod, held firmly in place with a 1/4-20 screw through one of the numerous mounts. A strategically placed cold shoe mount at the front of the handle enhances its functionality.

The base of the STR-A6-RIG is elegantly simple, yet highly practical, featuring mounts for two included 15mm rods (200mm long) and both 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 mounting points for quick-release tripod plates. The large, sturdy locking knobs come with a kipping function, enabling tightening even in partially obstructed situations. The base secures to the frame with an Arca-Swiss style connection, with hard stops on either side for safe horizontal positioning.

The camera frame is precision-engineered to fit the Sony a6500-style body, with strategically placed cutouts for easy access to buttons and dials. The cage design allows easy access to memory card slots, A/V inputs & outputs, and remote port access on both sides. A convenient cutout over the battery port facilitates quick battery swaps without the need to unmount the cage.

The cage also features a versatile, positionable cable clamp on the left side, supporting cables virtually anywhere on the camera's left-hand side. The Arca-Swiss style base connection is compatible with various types of photo tripod quick-releases, offering the flexibility to mount it directly to a photo tripod, bypassing the need for a quick-release plate.
