Review Summary
Without a doubt, your instrument should equal the quality of your effort. At some point the word "boutique" comes to mind: Select-grade materials, neck-thru construction and top quality components, all in a meticulously crafted instrument. But what about the price? That's where Ibanez comes in. Their ability to build small-shop quality into inspiring yet affordable instruments is showcased by BTB series basses.
Upper Horn
This extended Upper Horn creates constant contact with the Maple/Bubinga neck from the 12th to the 24th fret, providing maximum stability and increased sustain.
Contoured Neck Scoop
The back of the neck is sculpted for comfort and easy access to the very highest notes. The smooth, graceful contour allows the palm of the left hand to move quickly and easily as it transitions up the neck, into the underside of the bass's Ash body.
5pc BTB Maple/Bubinga 35" Scale Through-Neck
The Maple/Bubinga combination creates one of the strongest Through-Necks available. The density of the Bubinga, combined with the strength of the Maple, increases stability and sustain through the entire body of the bass. The 35" scale provides a bit more tension for the low B and improves definition in the lower range.
Mono-Rail II bridge
The Mono-Rail bridge delivers the ultimate in string-to-string isolation, allowing each string to vibrate optimally without being affected by the others.
Bartolini BH1 Pickups
Balancing clarity with warmth is the hallmark of the Bartolini BH1 pickup. Coils with lower resonant frequency provide tighter bottom end and a fuller midrange. The dual-coil style configuration maximizes articulation and a long blade pole piece widens the magnetic field, providing balanced string-to-string pickup response.
EBQ-IIIS 3-Band EQ With Mid Frequency Switch
The active 3-band EQ features fully independent bass, treble and mid controls with a wide boost/cut range. The preamp system is equipped with a mid-frequency select switch, enabling you to instantly select 250Hz or 600Hz, the heart of the mid zone, for a more dynamic and ideal tone.
