The battery for the XA10, I believe is the BP 808. I do not believe this charger is compatible with the XA10 battery. Charlotte T : does this plug into the outlet or do you need a cord?ANTHONY R : It plugs into an AC outlet, but needs the cord for use in a vehicle. If I were you I would not buy from Adorama.BETH H : I bought mine in 2010, so it looks a little different than the picture I just recieved with your question in my email. The one I purchased came with two cords, the battery pack end of both cords are the same, but the other end of one is for the wall and one for connecting to the flash. However, as said above, the current picture looks like they changed the construction slightly, and I only see one cord. So if two cords are not written, then ask someone at Adorama to physcially open the box and check... As for performance; I love it. Even if I'm only shooting a few minutes, I often take the extra time to hook up my pack, since I like to burst shoot most shots. I loved it so much I bought one for my husband also.MICHAEL G : It plugs directly into a wall outlet 100v-250v, no cord needed. It comes with a 12v car plug as well but I've never used it. That little bump you see in the photo on the lower left is the 2-prong plug which swings out and plugs into the wall outlet. Incidentally, this charger works on all voltages and you can travel with it and just adapt the shape of the plug using a simple and cheap plug adapter (looks like they give you one with the charger now). Charges batteries just fine. Much smaller than the original Canon adapter.LAWRENCE R : It has fold out prongs to plug directly into a US wall outlet so no cord is needed. If you look closely at photo of the unit, the bottom left towards the rear of the unit you can see the prong folded into its slot. It also comes with a 12V car plug as shown in the photo. I don't know what the item is in the photo that looks like a plug but nothing like that was in the unit that I got.That said, my unit does not have the work "TECH" printed on the front. It just says "Battery Charger". These things are pretty generic so that probably doesn't matter.ELMER S : Plugs directly. Fantastic charger

Adorama is the best. This is just the item you need. Imagine taking your expensive oem charger out in the world and either damaging it or leaving it. This charger allows you to charge your battery any where from your location. Car, working site or even Grandmas house makes no difference. This charger charges quickly. Only cord is for car but that is good as provides ample room. It is a wall plug in unit but I got a small length cord for wall sockets. I use Cannon and Nikon cameras and this charger allows me to carry different plates that attach to the front of the charger changing capabilities of one charger. Adorama has excellent customer service. Try it for yourself and if dissatisfied return it. It also includes the plug for European electricity so if you travel abroad it is just the item you need, try that with your oem charger.

The Canon version was sold out

The charger doesn't have a cord, only a 2 prong plug that folds out and something for a cigarette lighter, so you may have to rearrange other plugs to make room for the charger. It charges the battery fine, but is not as well-made as the name brand charger. I bought it because the name brand charger was not in stock.

Does not work.

So I attach my empty battery to this charger, and the indicator turns green. The charger is not even plugged into the wall and the indicator is green. Weird, I think, but hey whatever, I plug it in and leave it for a couple hours. I come back and pop it in to the camera: no charge. Tried another battery and nothing. Tried another outlet and no results. Its strange that the indicator is always green, even though this charger doesn't work at all. I'm taking it back.
