I needed a scanner for both photos and documents that would work with my Mac. This one does great. Only issue was I had to find new drivers to make it work. I pray that Canon will keep making drivers for iOS and make a WiFi version.

stopped scanning with CaptureTouch software. Keeps saying cannot find scanner, check power and cables but they are fine. Can't find any info on how to fix the issue.

Scanner is easy to use and does everything exceptional well, I am very pleased with my purchase. I did research for 3 days before I bought this one and all the reviews I read are spot on (actually it's better than I thought it would be).

I love this scanner. I used to have to scan mail/letters on the copy machine, which meant scanning one page at a time to accommodate pages of different sizes. This scanner makes it so much easier - I can just put everything in (envelope too) and it scans both sides in seconds. It saves me a ton of time.

At first, the Canon R40 Scanner worked beautifully, for about two years. Then all of a sudden, it disconnected from the laptop and despite trying to reinstall the software, it failed to connect. Looks like it's a common issue on the Canon discussion board with no support from Canon.

I bought this about 4 years ago for my MAC and I still love it. Today I tried to use my scanner and it said that "R40.ds" is damaged so I couldn't use my scanner. I called Canon support. The support desk person was really patient and nice and walked me through the proper steps! So glad that I called. My scanner is working fine now

This scanner is perfect since I work from home and have a business! I can easily upload all of my documents and receipts. I've used it this week and it's so easy to use. Awesome scanner!!

I am digitizing decades of old financial records and got tired of a minute per sheet on my flatbed scanner. I can put a stack of papers in the R40 feed tray and tear through them two-sided in no time, it's breathtaking compared to flatbed scanning. The software lets you set up different scanning profiles (one-sided vs two-sided, different resolutions) which are then available with a single click. The only issue I have had so far is if a page has printing close to the edge it sometimes gets cut off. There is likely a fix for this but I haven't dug into the docs yet to research it as it rarely happens. Also I previously purchased the Readiris Pro software and haven't figured out how to interface it with this scanner but the included software does most of the same stuff (OCR is my main concern) so I am good for now. Given the scope of my scanning needs this device will save me hundreds if not thousands of hours of time over using a flatbed scanner.

Amazing product which has saved us a lot of time when we have to scan all our documents. It has to connect to the computer with a wire but then can effortlessly scan away!

I am impressed as how good is this scanner highly efficient scan regular paper size and receipts, it is fast and doesn't jam papers easily it's very compact size, software its easy to install. I am very happy and extremely recommended.

This thing is genius! No more scanning on some out of date printer that makes the scans look like they're from 1982. This baby picks up every single detail and it GREAT for smaller scans that sometimes aren't scanned properly i.e. RECEIPTS. I own several businesses and receipts are an integral part of my tax prep! I am LOVING this thing and have used it SEVERAL times already.

So I was extremely excited to be able to give this Canon scanner a try. I loved that it connected to QuickBooks so easily and has helped me stay more organized. It has been a tremendous help taking what would take me hours trying to scan with a regular top scanner and has cut my time down. It is able to scan both sides of a receipt or document which is great. It's a very easy setup with only 1 cord provided you basically just plug it in and start your business. The scanner can handle about 40 pages per min if your doing a batch comply. Its also can do business cards along with paper receipts. It's a great product for people who are beginning to start a business and needing help to stay organized.

I never thought that I would actually enjoy tracking my small business expenses, but this document scanner makes it so easy. I can scan in multiple documents at a time and they're always perfect clarity. I no longer have a stack of receipts piling up on my desk.

I am so thankful that Influenster sent me this scanner to try! I actually ended up setting it up in my husbands office as he will get a lot more use out of it. It works really well and scans all of our documents super fast! Tax time is here and we have been scanning stuff on our phones which is convenient but very time consuming! It scans receipts, business cards, plastic cards, paper documents and more! It also includes the software download for Intuit Quickbooks: Receipt Edition! This was such great timing for us as my husband keeps all of his receipts for his business! This will make our lives so much easier!

I've used big giant scanners before at previous jobs, and this little guy is just as good getting the job done. I am so happy with this product and would highly recommend for small businesses or personal use!

This was my first high capacity scanner (I had only used printer scanners previously). I love this scanner! It has made document retention a heck of a lot easier for me. The scan quality is great, the speed is great and the feeder tray capacity works great for my needs.

It worked well before we got a new Windows 11 PC. Now it says "Problem with TWAIN Driver" 1. Reinstalled driver a number of times - no difference 2. Canon website gives server error when tried to download latest driver, which is 6 months old anyway. 3. even after reinstalling to the newer driver, it still doesn't connect and gives errors. Apparently, Canon's software did not update the driver and left the old Microsoft-supplied driver from 2019. 4. As such, the scanner is UNUSABLE

Unable to download twain driver for MAC. Highly frustrating and contacting support is too much of a hassle. They should really fix this issue.

I am not happy with this scanner so far, I have to reload the Twain Driver over and over again. I have windows 10 and it's new enough it should work with it. Its frustrating to the point that even though this unit is not even 1 year old yet I am researching another brand.

I bought this scanner for a big project a few weeks ago (I needed to scan documents at work for a few hours everyday, and it works great for what I need to get done. The scanner is really easy to use, and the features are great for what I am doing. I just have one problem with it; the scanner makes a high pitched noise that begins to give me a headache after using it for a while. It is a big issue for me considering how much scanning I am doing everyday. I would definitely recommend this scanner for someone who isn't going to use it for long periods of time, but I would recommend going with a quieter scanner if you are going to be scanning documents on a regular basis.

We intended to use this only as a document scanner, but found that it can also be used to send faxes and documents much smoother than our actual scanner/copier/fax machine. As far as scanning documents, the device is quick and relatively quiet (not any louder than a standard all-in-one printer device). It pulls the documents through at a reasonably good speed. We used the software a bit and it seems easy enough to install and use. It has some nice features like color correcting on receipts that may not show up as dark as needed, etc. We had a smaller pill cylinder shaped scanner before but found that one too clunky to use for a lot of documents at once. We also did not have much success with our flatbed scanner as it took too long to swap out pages, especially when they were double-sided. This scanner fixes all those issues. It is larger and bulkier than the small scanner, but less bulky that our all-in-one with the flatbed scanner. If you have the space for it, and have a lot of documents to scan, this works great and is much faster than the other options. The software makes it super easy to archive and organize documents. It will take time to work through a backlog of documents we want to save, but this seems to be the best tool we could have chosen for the job and we highly recommend it over the more compact versions or the larger all-in-one machines.
