I have no idea why the EF-S 17-55 is bundled with the 5d2. I can only think they meant to use the 17-40 f/4L which is indeed an ultra wide angle lens for a full-frame camera like the 5D series. The 24-105 f/4L is an excellent lens for the 5D series. The EF-S 17-55 2.8 is an excellent "standard" lens for crop sensor cameras (not ultra-wideangle), and is great on rebels, 60D and 7D. But it will not work on the 5D series at all! Only if you need that lens to use on another camera will this package be useful.
