During the Spring of this year, 2024, I bought a new EOS 5D Mark IV from Camera Mall in Ann Arbor, MI. I went on line and saw they had them in stock, so I paid for it in advance and then jumped in my car and drove over 55 miles to pick it up. The thought of owning this camera body was exciting because I'd read so many good things about it, especially since earlier this year in March, I met a professional that was shooting with a 1D. I told him my best camera is a Canon 6D and wondered if the 5D Mark IV was significantly better. He animately said yes! and that I would notice a major difference. After this statement and having read other reviews, I was game to take a chance, especially since I'm not not interested in switching to mirrorless, not even with an adapter. Besides, that's what a cell phone's set up is, right? Plus, I own a Canon SX40 HS bridge camera and a Ricoh-Pentax WG-4 pocket camera. Neither are DSLR but I'm good with those and would rather concentrate on the old mirror DSLR community of photography. Well, I must say I've had nothing but good things and experiences with this apparatus, even though I paid $500.00 more than the advertised current sale price. My evaluative opinion may not be the best; I consider myself a novice professional. For me, it's just an addictive hobby but I have been paid for my photography (unsolicited) and some of my pictures have been featured in a newspaper. I've paired my shooting with 5 different Canon L lenses and based off of other reviews I've read here on the Canon website, I may be adding the EF 24-70 2.8 L to my lens collection. So far, I'd say this body has performed well and I'm glad I bought it while the getting is not as good as the RF mirrorless mounts. My two thumbs say Yes! This camera is well worth the ownership!

Even this camera model is over a decade old but still one of great camera out there!!! Some people reported blurry pictures... well, if you do not know how to take good pictures with the advanced settings, just stick to your smartphones and DSLR/Mirrorless sophisticated equipments are not for you. Need intelligence and skill to use beyond Auto Mode.

Purchased and tried for 7 days. Tried every setting I could find and could not take crisp sharp photos. Used tripod and shutter release. Contacted Canon, no help. I suspect the low pass filter is the culprit. Returned camera. Disappointed with Canon. Have EOS 5D Mark III and am very pleased.

This is the second 5D Mark 4, they work great and very durable. My photography genre is all over the board, but this camera is right by my side. I definitely would recommend it.

Upgraded from a 6D Mark II, which I loved, that I gave to my husband. I am obsessed with this camera. Paired with L series glass, this camera delivers stunning images. It feels fantastic in my hands and it's features are easy to operate.

Upgraded from the 6D Mark II. I gave that camera to my husband so we could enjoy this journey together. I am obsessed with this camera. It feels incredible in my hands. The features and controls are easily accessible. When paired with L series lenses, the images are stunning.

I only needed a new camera body because I already have upgraded lenses. I was amazed to find such a great deal on Adorama. The Canon 5D Mark IV camera body came with a flash drive/reader, a memory card, a strap, a cleaning kit and case, a camera bag that can hold a small lens, editing software/picture storage, a tripod and a few other items. The price was a few hundred dollars better than other vendors without the extras.

I have been using this for many years with satisfying results. It's a great camera and also great for videos. Even though the trend is mirrorless cameras, I like the full lens lineup in the RF series. I dropped this camera from 4ft height to the concrete floor without damaging anything, though the on-camera mic's cold shoe broke apart.

Bought in 2018, got dunked in the Pacific Ocean while on a Milky Way shoot, Aug 2020. Canon sent it back as unrepairable. Well, it turned on out of the box, and itt worked perfectly for close to 2 years....Now, it doesn't turn off after the selected time and will drain the batteries. It might have actually ruined two batteries. Now, I turn it off when not shooting, and only use my oldest, weakest batteries. It's a backup now to my R5.. any additional time I get out of it will just be a bonus!

I debated for quite a while whether to go mirrorless or stay with the Mark series. I went for the Mark IV and am so glad. I came from the Mark II and Mark III and let me tell you....this thing is smooth as silk! I am in love again. I tried my daughter's mirrorless and handed it back to her within a few shots. I like the solid feel and the balance it lends to my 70-200. I have shot with it for 4 sessions and I am very very happy with the camera and lens. Sharp and crisp shots!

Amazing tool
By mkphoto
As a wedding photographer for 6 years, having shot both Canon and Nikon extensively, this camera is a very welcome update to Canon's lineup. The high iso performance is very, very good, with ISO 3200 nearly indistinguishable from ISO 100 unless you're peeping at 100%. 6400 is exceptionally clean as well, retaining good color and dynamic range. Even 12,800 looks surprisingly good. With some noise reduction 32,000 is even usable. Aside from the extra features like the touch screen, video, ...

I'm puzzled by the poor reviewers - my guess is they misunderstood this camera and why would you even bother comparing to the 5Ds series? After renting the MKIV it was a matter of hours and it was purchased. • Good ISO performance • Fast focusing • very good image quality • gret shutter not loud at ALL! even in normal mode and feels solid • Excellent at weddings And all the new features of touch screen is very nice and easy to use. The MKIV out does the Sony is far from good for event i.e...

The EOS 5D Mark IV camera boasts a full-frame, high-speed CMOS sensor that's ideal for a broad range of applications with its remarkable high-resolution abilities. Measuring approximately 36.0mm x 24.0mm, the same size and ratio as a 35mm film frame, it records 30.4 effective Megapixels at normal ISOs of up to 32000. It also captures incredible still and 4K video clips suitable for significant post-processing, retouching and cropping. Versatile in virtually all kinds of light and any shooting situation from print and wedding to full-bleed magazine spreads and other commercial or fine art use, the EOS 5D Mark IV consistently produces high-resolution 4K video and image files that are easily compatible with any number of diverse workflows.
ISO 100-32000 (expandable to 50-102400)
Featuring an ISO range of 100-32000 (expandable to 50-102400), the EOS 5D Mark IV camera is incredibly well-suited for low-light photography. Its sensor has an improved S/N ratio plus an improved noise-processing algorithm to help deliver high-level light sensitivity along with its high resolution, with virtually no compromise in image quality. Whether working in a dimly lit auditorium, trying to capture the action at night, photographing at the fastest possible shutter speed or simply suppressing camera shake blur, the EOS 5D Mark IV has an extended ISO range that contributes to its ability to excel in nearly every situation it faces.
4K Motion JPEG video (DCI cinema-type 4096 x 2160) at 30p or 24p; in-camera still frame grab of 4K 8.8-Megapixel images; multiple video options include Full HD up to 60p, and HD up to 120p.
The EOS 5D Mark IV is a remarkably capable video camera.
