Amazing

I'm not going get into the top notch qualities of the 60D, you can look that up otherplaces, my comments or on these cameras being classified as "refurbished". I dont know what the criteria for that term is, but I CANNOT tell tell the difference between refurb and new out of the box. Never as much as a scrape. I teach high school photography and have purchased 15 of these and never has even one shown any signs of wear. AND they go on sale as refurbs here, beating the lowest price anywhere by easily $100. Nice job Canon! Keep it up.

GREAT DEAL

I probably should not give this such a good review, then everybody will go and buy one and there won't be any more for me... I teach high school photography and these cameras are awesome. I have purchased 5 of them and I honestly cannot tell the difference between them and new ones... For anybody that is shooting at less than full time pro level, these cameras should perform flawlessly. Mine get used constantly, and are holding up extremely well (all 50 of the cameras in my class are Canon's, but only 5 60Ds. I have not encountered any image quality issues that were the fault of the camera. I routinely produce 17x22 images that are remarkable. (even with the 10mp XS)

Helpful hardware

I am a low light shooter, and in many cases shooting cityscapes from the top of tall buildings. The 60d has been helpful in several ways in this process. The leveling feature on the menu is helpful in pure darkness on top of buildings, and allows for much easier and quicker photo taking. Since it is normally below freezing, or close to freezing the 60d seems to operate well in the colder environments. The 60d size allows for carrying more than one camera body in the packs I shoulder to climb ladders, or small spaces for rooftop shooting. It's convenient. A great investment in upgrading my secondary camera body to this model.

Great camera at even better price

I'm just an hobbyist and this camera is just great, meets and exceeds my expectations. I'm looking to get some more lenses and maybe get more in the commercial type of work, and i think this will be good start

Great images

I have only had this camera a week. It is very good on low light performance. Image quality is very good. It is not as sturdily built as the 50D but it is good enough for my use. I use it mostly indoors for use with my flashes for still life etc. And with still life photos using window light. Easy to learn the controls as I had a Canon 5D before I went to APS-C sensor.

I would buy this product again and again

I'm a amateur-advanced photographer. I purchased this camera over others because it's a great camera, especially for the price at the time. I use it mostly more portrait sessions and just started getting into making videos. It's a great camera for both photography and videography. It has a lot of great benefits from editing a photo on the camera to the ISO performance. There are only two cons I can think of. The buttons are kind of annoying. They're not as comfortable to press as other Canon's. Another is the live view shooting mode. It only has one focusing are which making auto focus take forever. So, I only use it when I need to. But if you're not phased by those, like myself, then it's still a great camera to work with.

Great DSLR For Video Hobbyists

As a person new to HD DSLR Video this camera was easy to use and learn and also produces beautiful video. The flip out LCD is also great for getting those low and high shots that would have otherwise been shot blind. Great camera at a great price!

Just a great well made camera

I jumped up from a T3i to the 60D. Quite a few more things to learn. I am just getting into photography. I did buy a DVD that covered the basic controls for the 60D. I also ordered a advanticed DVD so I can do more with the camera. I do like the 18-135mm lens that came with the camera. It's better then the box lens that came with the T3i. Plus my other items will work with the 60D, such as my flash and other lenses.

Have gone through two of these bodies. Really like it but would recommend something more suited for low light in day to day use.

Excellant Excellant Excellant

This is the most advanced EOS camera I have had and I am in love with it! Takes amazingly clear pictures with great auto focus and low light pictures. For amateurs wanting to take photos that look like a professional photographer took them, then I strongly recommend this camera. Best Christmas present ever!

Excellent Value!

What a great camera! My first DSLR. I like that the book is easy to understand. If this is your first, you'll want to just read and read the book and take shots to experiment.

The Little things make the Product!

I purchased the 60D for use of the HD video. I was not disappointed! I am using the camera to make videos for YouTube. (Shameless plug: http://www.youtube.com/user/Plegodego?feature=mhee) Perfect quality is not needed for Youtube as most people don't watch it in HD and it is slightly distorted because it is streaming. None the Less the 60D delivers flawless HD video. The only drawback I found was that 60fps was only available in 720p rather than 1080p. But besides that I love this camera! :)

Great entry level DSLR

I use this for general photography. GREAT: Love the price, a lot of the EOS 7D without the price. Lightweight. NOT GREAT: The auto-focus is fairly inaccurate for landscape photos. Much better to zoom in, focus them zoom back. Could be me, but backlit photos aren't easily managed in any mode.

Canon EOS 60D Digital SLR Camera Kit

The camera is a bit heavier and pricier than most other SLRs, but it offers the best combination of superb photo and fast response. It's one of just a few advanced cameras that has excellent image quality for low-light and flash photos. Includes a swiveling LCD that allows you to capture hard-to-reach shots.

Great For Former SLR Camera User

I was a little startled by how noisy the camera is at high speed shooting and since most of my shots are of wildlife or domestic animals I use the "noise" to my advantage

Camera fits my needs....

I am a "Pro" wantabe... and was waffling between this camera and a Canon 7D. The Canon 60D fit my photography style better at this time. In the future when I buy my next camera it will be higher end Canon camera. This to me is a great entry level camera for getting into another area or level of photography.

Great All Round Camera

I shoot a lot of detailed embroidery work under poor conditions such as low lighting conditions and behind glass. This camera shoots the most amazing photos of these needlework pieces. I could not be happier!

great value purchase

I needed a crop frame sensor camera for some work that I do in real estate. The 60D was the answer to my problem. Great price, good balance and weight, really nice features over all. This camera purchase was mainly for a backup camera, and the use of wide angle lenses that would not work on my full frame Canon 5D Mark II.
