I have always loved taking pictures of my family and occasionally I'd see something pretty that I thought would make a nice art photo, I want to take it to the next level,a little more professional. I LOVE the different settings and how they take such different photos Judy by changinga couple numbers.

I am just getting into this as a serious hobby (and for a trip out west. So far I have used this for sports, still life, and some fidgity dogs and LOVE it. The menus help to step you through settings and the screen gives instant feedback. This is definitly a camera that you can grow with.

This is my first DSLR. The quality of this camera is awesome, and the pictures and video it captures are top-notch. I chose this camera after a lot of research. I love the range of zoom on the included lens. It will suit me fine until I decide to upgrade to more exspensive Canon lenses.

I bought this after considering all DSLR and this is the best for the money. Easy to use and great pictures. I used it mostly w/o flash and comes out great. You need to experiment with the high ISO. You still need the flash for shady pictures and fill up shots. The 18-200mm lens is great but heavy, so get yourself the regular 18-55mm which is great lens to carry around. With the 2 lenses you are all set. Good Luck

I like the fact that there is no timer button on the back of the camera. I had a Rebel XT and I was constantly accidently setting the timer.

This is my first DSLR and I'm quite happy about the overall experience so far. I have used it to take birthday party snaps for my friends 2 year old, HD videos and lots of other photographs in and around the family. Family photographs include portraits, creative auto mode with custom blur settings and also full auto mode with flash off. All of the images came out superb except a few shaky images as a result of my unstable handling. On a side note, I had purchased a Canon T3i with 18-55 and 55-250 lens bundle before this one, but quickly realized that changing lenses takes a lot of time and it is bit cumbersome. So I returned it and now have a single 18-200 lens with my 60D, which is very easy to use in-spite of being little heavier.

I use this camera combo daily and have taken it into all kinds of conditions doing various outdoor photography of wildlife and scenery as well as portraits and macro. It has performed very well no matter what I have used it for. The 18-200 lens is a GREAT lens to have on the Canon body when in the field shooting. Nobody likes to change their lens in harsh dusty conditions! Both a wide angle and a decent zoom wrapped into one package. I have taken as many as 400+ images in a single outing and this combo has never failed me. The high speed shutter in combination with a quality memory card is amazing for those quick moving action shots! The articulating LCD screen is a must for the photographer on the go. Live view mode produces very sharp images but if this feature is used all the time it drains the battery quickly. Sometimes the photo's are a little softer than I would like to see and I have noticed slight noise in high ISO shots but nothing that would make me dislike this combo. For the most part this outfit produces JAW DROPPING IMAGES! I am so glad to have this outfit added to my arsenal of equipment. So much so, this is actually my 2nd Canon combo purchased through Adorama! My husband is now learning to use this camera and he is officially HOOKED on photography! I would recommend this camera combo and Adorama's great service and prices to anyone!

This is a nice step up from my Canon Xti. Having owned (and loved) the Xti for over four years I found myself wanting to advance. This camera offered a nice improvement at, what i think, is a fantastic price point.

I decided on the Canon 60D because it supports my full frame lenses along with the EF-S lenses. The full HD 1920x1080 video is simply awesome. The swivel out vari-angle LCD monitor is a must for macro photography. I only photograph in RAW so I can get the best photographs always with the APS-C size sensor. 18.0 Megapixels does just what I need to do from professional portraiture to action sports shooting. I have had nothing but good luck with this camera at capturing everything I point it at. Battery life is good and with the extended battery for two batteries I get 3x the photographs.

I use this camera package for all types of shooting. Recently added 580EXII speedlite makes tremendous difference in image quality. The 18-200mm lens is a good lens to reach out and get great pictures.

I do a lot of wildlife and travel photography, and own the Canon 7D, so this 60D was a backup camera. This is a very versatile camera with almost all the flexibility of my 7D, and of course accepts all my existing Canon lenses. Camera came with the 18-200mm lens, which is perfect for travel as will as general photography. A great camera/lens combination.

Although I'm not an experienced DSLR user, I have had several digital cameras, and one decent 35mm Minolta decades ago. Most of my film cameras were lower end point-and-shoot though. If you're looking for your first DSLR camera, I can't imagine a better choice. I was somewhat intimidated on my first quality DSLR purchase, but I was up and shooting decent quality shots, and videos, minutes after charging the battery and inserting the memory card. Although I haven't used much in the way of manual control of the camera (just got it a few hours ago), I just somehow feel confident with this amazing camera already. I believe I made the perfect choice on this high quality Canon, and I'm already in love with this great lens. A fantastic combination. Oh, and the HD videos will blow you away!

This is my 3rd DSLR camera and I have never been more impressed. My first test shots were indoors of my two black dogs, lit only by window light. The shots came out surprisingly good, even more so once I noticed that the Auto ISO setting was at 3200! I'm use to unacceptable noise as low as 1600 and 800 where these shots were very acceptable. The contrast was good, and where other cameras failed, the detail in the black fur really stood out. I am also very impressed with the color accuracy of this camera straight out of the box. I also like the easy of the controls. For example, adjusting exposure control is a simple button push, then a command dial rotation instead of holding down a button while rotating a dial. The LCD screen folds out and rotates. While I don't use this feature often, it is one that is indispensable when you need it. The "Quick" button is also very handle as it allows easy access to many settings instead of going thru a "ton" of menu screens. I have found my dream camera!

I got this as a starter for my DLSR photographic journey. I have to say though while it took a while to come, I was very happy when it did. I chose 18-200mm IS lens kit primarily because I was going to travel overseas later on in the year, but it also would save me on carrying a separate zoom / telephoto lens with me. As for the Canon 60D itself, what attracted me to it was the fact it had a swivel LCD screen. This was especially advantageous for those who like to take photos at awkward angles. The combination of the Live View and the mobile LCD screen makes that possibility of getting that shot just that much easier, and gives you a bit of a creative edge. Nothing bad about this kit comes to mind.

This Camera is in my opinion currently best in its class. Coupled with the 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 IS Lense it served my holiday purpose, the combo was a bit heavy but after all this is not a compact camera but a DSLR. If you buy this camera with an L series lense the better ISO would make photo taking in lowlight better

The professional camera with a higher benefit-cost market. And the lens is incredible. It starts at wide angle and still is a tele. As good as Canon 7D

My friend had originally purchased a Canon T3i and had a few problems with it. The T3i works best in Auto mode. It's a "Consumer" Camera. I researched cameras for her and found that she could buy a 60D for only about (Less than 250) more. The 60D is a world class DSLR. Professionals use it often and it closely resembled my 7D so I purchased it for her. It's truly an amazing camera! With all the added features it helps a photographer take their skills to a pro level. Definitely buy the kit with the 18-200mm instead of the 18-135mm. It's a better lens and a better value!

Overall, this is a great camera. A lot of people consider this camera and the Canon Rebel T3i. Personally, I would highly recommend this camera over the T3i for many reasons. First, it has a much better build quality. It may not have the aluminum-alloy body the 50D has, but it feels much more "sturdy" and the grips are much nicer. Also, the camera's framework is different. The T3i has a cheaper frame that causes it to be louder and slower in FPS. As you can see, the 60D has much better features than the T3i and I highly recommend you purchase it. Now, there are two things I don't like about the 60D. First is the Dial Lock. Canon added a lock on the dial that must be pressed in to change modes. This was installed to prevent accidental mode switching. In all the years that I've used SLRs, I've never accidentally switched modes and I find this dial lock quite annoying when trying to quickly switch modes from like camera to video. The second con is the buttons. When you press them, they kind of go in, but there is no click. It makes you feel like you're not pressing them hard enough. On, for example the T3i, when you press the buttons, the click giving you a confirmation that you have actually pressed it. Other than those two cons, I absolutely love this camera and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a semi-pro DSLR.

I moved up to the 60d from a canon xti. Huge difference, I can take actions shots so much better. the video is not easy to use, it seems like it should work better when in use. But so far I love this camera.
