So far so great. Beautiful camera. I upgraded from my old T2i, which I sold on eBay. Definitely got a good value.

This is a big improvement over older Rebels like the t5i and prior, the SL-series, and even some of the older *0D models. The dual pixel auto-focus using the live view mode, the 45 cross-point auto-focus in the viewfinder, and much improved noise performance at higher ISO makes this crop-sensor model a winner. Too bad it is discontinued.

the camera is clean but you can tell the shutter count is high. The shutter works hard when taking a picture and can tell it’s a old camera that was used a lot.

I love this camera, if it wasn’t crazy to buy another one I would. Everything about it is perfect. I’m kinda new to photography but the interface from the t6 to this is miles ahead!

A great camera with great features. I finally got tired of so-so pictures. My grandsons are competing in team roping & I needed a way to capture fast action shots. I am a falconer & wanted to also capture my hawk in flight. This was the answer with 6fps & this great auto focusing lens. Everyone raves about how good the pictures look. If you want great pictures, buy this camera. If you don't care about Great pictures, use your cell phone.

This is a pretty nice camera, shoots photos and videos pretty well. I wish videos could shoot at 120fps, so slow motion clips could be smoother. Overall a really good camera.

Good: fast response, familiar controls layout, reasonable good picture quality, simple to operate, low price, compact size and weight. Bad: very small viewfinder, no AF micro adjustments, not weather-proof, low quality kit lens (18-55). It is a handy Rebel, but not much more.

I use this camera for everything from astrophotography to portraits and love it! I have owned and used most major Canons from 1967-present and can’t name them all here.

I started 3 years ago with a t5i and 18-135 f3.5-5.6 and quickly outgrew that setup. I purchased the 77D and paired it with a Sigma 17-50 f2.8. This opened a world of possibilities for me and I have had a blast trying to master this camera. I am a hobbyist and have so much to learn, but this camera has been a great learning tool. I will not keep it forever, but I see myself continuing to use it for a while. I cannot recommend this enough for those on a budget like me who want to take the next step past entry level. -battery life is good -touchscreen looks great, works well, love the swivel -fast and accurate auto focus -very useful top screen -great low light performance -light and comfortable @ low shutter speeds -great value -app works well but is a bit rudimentary. Can be hard to figure out at first -ISO performance isn't the best, I don't go above 800 or you get too much noise I cannot recommend this enough for hobbyists like myself. Do it already.

I tried to like this camera, but as a pro photographer looking for a great second back up camera, the images on the 77d are extremely soft, no matter which L lens or prime you use.

Nice set. Much lighter than my 80d. The light doesn’t come with a battery pack. Bags pretty nice though I like a different style myself. My sons enjoying this set.

Was excited to receive new Canon EOS 77D and 18-135 lens. Took photography classes eons ago in college and loved them. Have been away for years and am looking forward to all this new technology. Right spot between beginner and pro. Like rear LCD screen rotation and the top LCD.

This is a light, durable, quick focusing and affordable workhorse. I just bought my second one and I am probably going to buy a third so I can shoot with three different lenses and not have to switch them on and off. Attach a stellar lens like the 70-200 2.8 and you will not be disappointed.

I LOVE this camera. I am passionate about photography and am trying to pursue it as a career in some way. However, because I am on a relatively limited budget, I researched the best camera bodies under $, and decided on this one. Nice compact size, yet still very sturdy and well constructed. The touch screen is a huge luxuy compared to my previous rebel T3i, and the 45-point, dual pixel auto focus is incredibly useful. There are many fun settings on here that increase the user-friendliness of this DSLR. Generally, they have a bit steeper of learning curves, but there are many modes aimed for all levels. The 24.2 megapixel sensor is very nice. The top LCD screen and the back scroll wheel is very very nice to have as well. This body is perfect for both photography and videography. I haven't had a ton of time to really dive into it, but from my few weeks of using it, I absolutely love it and definitely recommend it.

A well thought out camera with the potential for complete manual control and creativity. Love the light weight. Best menu system of any brand and the live view performance is what makes Canon a no brainer. The only shortcoming is that for no apparent reason (other than to get you to step up to the much heavier and more expensive 80D Canon hampered the Auto ISO and does not include minimum shutter speed.

Great camera
By cllhnstev
At 24 mp and very low noise it's been near perfect for shooting for stock agencies, haven't had one image rejection yet with it. Only thing I miss from more expensive models is a vertical grip but maybe someone will make one someday.
Great camera for the price

Bought this to replace my T2i. I love the live view for taking pix. Autofocus works great and having a touch screen is nice. It's just taking some time to get use to having one. My first set of pix look much better than my old T2i. Purchased just the body to use with my collection of L lenses so I can't comment on the kit lense. Anyone who has an older Rebel camera should consider the 77D as a great replacement. Same imager as the 80D with an updated Digic processor.
Let your creativity take control with the EOS 77D camera. Featuring an optical viewfinder with a 45-point all cross-type AF system and fast, accurate Dual Pixel CMOS AF with phase-detection, it helps you capture the action right as it happens. Alongside the viewfinder, the EOS 77D’s extensive, customizable controls and brilliant image quality help you get the photo looking exactly how you want it. Capture the vibrant colors and fine details of inspirational scenes with the 24.2 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) Sensor. Without missing a beat, check and change your settings with the top-mounted LCD screen and rear Quick Control dial. When you’re satisfied with your work, built-in Wi-Fi®, NFC and Bluetooth® technology lets you easily share your favorite photos and videos. Creative control and innovative customizability comes with the EOS 77D.
The EOS 77D camera’s optical viewfinder gives professional-level control and convenience by letting you see exactly what the lens sees in a variety of lighting conditions. A 45-point all cross-type autofocus system* helps you get what you want in focus, quickly. This comes in especially handy when trying to photograph fast-moving subjects, like athletes racing to score a goal or excited, playful pets. With minimal glare and minimal lag between what you see and what the camera captures, you could be on a dazzling beach photographing surfers or snapping a brilliant image of your friends dancing at midnight, and you can get the shot you want.
* The number of AF points, cross-type AF points and Dual cross-type AF points vary depending on the lens used.
There’s virtually no wait to focus with the EOS 77D camera’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which helps deliver the world’s fastest autofocusing speed at 0.03 sec. Available when using Live View on the LCD touchscreen for both photos and videos, it features phase-detection which helps quickly and accurately determine how far away an object is by rapidly analyzing the phase of different colors of light. This highly advanced technology offers quick, precise autofocus that stays locked onto your subject, even if your subject is in motion. Dual Pixel CMOS AF helps ensure your results are sharp, keeps the time it takes to lock focus onto your subject to a minimum and smoothly maintains focus where you want it.
The EOS 77D camera features a 24.2 Megapixel (APS-C) sensor capable of capturing clear, detailed and vivid images and movies. From the skin tones in a portrait, to the greens and browns of nearby foliage, the incredibly sensitive CMOS-style sensor can capture the rich, vibrant colors of the world around you. Its high resolution reveals intricate details of your subject, and is suitable for printing or easily uploading for use on the web.
The DIGIC 7 Image Processor powers the EOS 77D camera with high image quality and fast operation, even in low light. Even in extreme cases, like in low saturation or low-light dusk, dawn or darkened interior moments, it helps keep what you’re photographing in focus. When using high ISO settings, the image processing helps ensure results are highly detailed, while helping to minimize graininess. Powerful all around, the DIGIC 7 Image Processor helps ensure your photos and videos look sharp and lifelike with minimal unwanted noise or grain.
The EOS 77D camera is designed to make Wi-Fi® connections fast and easy. It can exchange data with other Wi-Fi® compatible Canon cameras, and transfer files directly to a compatible smart device using the Camera Connect app. It can also connect directly to Canon’s Connect Station CS100 device, upload directly to various web services like CANON iMAGE GATEWAY, Facebook® and YouTube® and print directly to wireless Canon printers.
With its built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) capability, the EOS 77D camera connects directly to compatible Android devices as well as Canon’s Connect Station CS100 device by simply touching the NFC icon located on the camera to the device.
Bluetooth® pairing lets you easily connect to and remotely control the EOS 77D from compatible smartphones using the free Canon Camera Connect app. After the initial pairing, you can set the camera to automatically connect to help preserve battery life while maintaining a wireless connection, and control camera operations remotely.
With the Canon Camera Connect app installed, the EOS 77D camera connects to and can be controlled by your compatible smartphone or tablet, or the optional Wireless Remote Control
BR-E1 for simple remote shooting.
The EOS 77D camera comes with a Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-inch Clear View LCD II monitor. It excels at shooting stills and videos at a variety of angles, as well as moviemaking whether used with a tripod or handheld. During Live View, tap the screen where you want to focus, and thanks to Dual Pixel CMOS AF the camera will focus on that location almost instantly. Two-finger touch gestures can be used for zooming or changing images after you’ve taken them, and menu and quick control settings can be accessed quickly and easily. With 1.04 million dots the screen is highly detailed and treated with a smudge-resistant coating to help minimize fingerprints and maintain a clear image, even in bright light.
A fine-tuned RGB+IR metering sensor not only helps ensure accurate exposure, but also uses Color Detection AF to detect skin tones and help provide precise AF. This is particularly useful when establishing focus for portraits in situations where other AF systems may falter. When a skin tone is detected, AI Servo AF starts off on skin-colored points, then tracks the subject based of the original AF point’s color information, maintaining focus on the person even when they’re in motion.
The EOS 77D camera features a flicker detection system that not only alerts the user in the viewfinder, but with the camera's Anti-flicker Shooting function can compensate for flickering light sources, taking shots as close to peak light volume as possible. This feature is useful for helping to minimize disparities in color and exposure, especially during continuous shooting in sub-optimal lighting situations.
Camera shake is inevitable at times, whether you’re ready to record the game-winning goal while running to keep up with the players, or when the landscape is epic but you’re riding in the car on a bumpy road. Movie Electronic IS helps minimize image blur due to shake, even when recording Full HD videos. When enabled and used with a compatible lens, 5-axis stabilization helps minimize image blur in the horizontal, vertical, and rotational planes.
HDR Movie mode captures correctly exposed and under-exposed images, then blends them into one video with more highlight detail for stunning results. Time-Lapse Movie mode takes long stretches of time and condenses it down to a single high-speed video (minimum settable shutter speed of 1/25). Rapidly moving pedestrians on a busy street, fast-moving clouds in the sky – the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
The more images, the better. That's the idea behind the EOS 77D camera's ability to capture up to 6.0 frames per second. Whether you’re capturing a majestic bird taking flight or a pro athlete scoring a winning goal, the EOS 77D can take the shot and stay locked on throughout the action, ensuring you capture the exact moment you want.
