Former pro photographer, now shoot primarily for personal use. Landscapes, travel, auto racing, scenic, wildlife, nature, sports, events. Got the camera refurbished. Takes a while to get to know all the features. I shoot mostly JPEGs, could use a HDR option. Good for stills, action, video, best to manually focus when shooting video. Seems to overexpose in auto mode, in daylight, which require post processing of exposure/contrast. Flash mode easy to use. Main thumb control wheel/button seems to wear internally. Use it lightly. Shoots well in low light, but noisy and grainy. Quick setup review screen very handy, saves time. Some buttons on the top window control/setting do not work well. Very sharp and quick focusing with fast lenses, not sharp when used with consumer quality lenses, if you invest in this body save for high quality glass to use with it. Very sharp and fast with high quality lenses attached. Good value but would get the Mark 11 as Canon has improved it over the 7D. With high quality lenses it is a high performer. With consumer quality lenses it hunts for focus in low light and the images are not to pro standards in sharpness. With expensive glass it is up t pro standards and matches much more expensive camera bodies. Frame rates are fast for action shots of moving subjects, live view is very good for framing and focusing while shooting video. A very good value now since the 7D Mark 11 came out. Canon may not continue the 7D much longer.

I bought a refurbished Canon 7D as a back-up for my wedding business, Canon 5d MKII being my primary camera. Why I decided to buy a refurbished 7D? * Saved close to $450 * I talked to Canon tech about the reliability of refurbished cameras. EACH refurbished camera undergoes THOROUGH inspection by Canon's technical department. This ensures me that the REFURBISHED UNIT I bought has been inspected thoroughly and ALL issues with the unit have been taken care of. *Refurbished units carry full Canon warranty just like a new unit. So, purchasing a refurbished 7D gave me the satisfaction that the unit was individually inspected by Canon, any issues were resolved AND I saved $$. I have been very happy with the refurbished unit I got. Used it to shoot a wedding a few days ago. I was planning to use 7D just for a few trial shots and switch back to my 5D MKII for most part. Guess what, I used 7D for the complete wedding and 5D MKII became my backup. I am really glad I purchased 7D and may become my primary wedding camera with 5D MKII as my back-up.

I am starting to learn photography and decided to purchase the Canon 7D (refurbished) and will upgrade later as I learn the tricks and trade. My camera arrived with 0 actuations on the meter. I was quite happy with it. Looks brand new indeed. Enjoyed taking pictures with it.

Not impress with the camera. Several reviews are great, but my impression just wasn't good. I have to compare it to my Canon 6d.

I mostly shoot birds and wildlife. I really like the auto focusing of the 7D.

My photography is Wildlife, Birds, Landscape, & Family in that order. This is the workhorse camera in Canon's Crop Sensor line. It is very well built. It looks substantial, feels substantial, and is rated for 150,000 shutter actuations. Though it has been around for a while it fits my needs perfectly. Being able to purchase it as a refurbished model made for an outstanding value. It carries the same warranty as a new model and it has been re-checked by Canon ! I purchased an App that let me check the shutter actuations and the camera I purchased only had 527 actuations. So it was basically new priced 33%+ cheaper than new ! I haven't found anything I don't like about it at this point. I am early in the learning process but its potential and performance will likely out pace mine !

Recent purchase, and upgrade from my old veteran 40D! I am a photo enthusiast...use the camera 3-4 times per week...for both portrait and landscape images.

Took a chance on the refurb but sent it back a week later after shooting a night club DJ performance. Low light performance was sub par and image quality was really not that good. I am one of those pixel peepers that gets chastised occasionally on forums and I feel this sensor is far outdated for its current price. Sure the body feels nice and has many pro features but when it's all said and done is it not about the images we capture?? I should also mention video was a desired feature for my camera purchase...on a $1000 budget. I ended up jumping ship from Canon to Sony, downsizing my rig to a NEX6 that offers, what my eyes see, better sensor and great primes at a fraction of the cost of Canon mount primes.

I capture wildlife on the weekends and before purchasing this body I was using an EOS Xsi. This camera is amazing. Everything is FASTER. Focusing, fps and the metering is awesome. Plus, I have purchased refurbished before and would not hesitate to do so in the future. To be honest, I wouldn't be able to tell a new one from this one if side by side. Perfect condition.

I'm not familar with the 6D so I can't compare. I have 2 7D's and really like them. They deliver on quality and that is the most important thing to me. Also, I purchased one of them new and one refurbished as a back-up. I have had no problems at all with the refurbished camera and can highly recommend Adorama's refurbished program.

If you are looking at this camera, you already know what it is; therefore I'm not going to go into details about what I like and don't like about it. I'm sure you've done your research. What I WILL say is that I still haven't found a compelling reason to spend the money on a new camera over refurbished. This is my second refurb Canon and I am 110% happy with the product. It looks and functions like new! What else can I say? I will definitely keep going this route until I find a reason not to.

I purchased this for my wife for Christmas based on recommendation from professional photog friend of mine. I received the package, and other than being in refurbished box, the camera looks as if it was never used. My friend tested out the camera and everything works as if brand new. All the accessories were neatly packaged, ie the battery, charger, etc. I put the camera back in the box to wrap for Christmas. I also told Adorama of my intentions this being a Christmas present and they will honor returning if something doesn't work correctly after Christmas.

I purchased a refurbished 7D to back up the new one I purchased and must admit that I have had not had any problems at all with the refurbished one. I was very hesitant but the money was important and so I went with Adorama and the refurnbished camera. Wouldn't hesitate doing the same thing the next time I need a piece of equipment.

this is my second Canon Camera, my first one was a T3i, which I still have, also bought it thru Adorama. The camera itself is another world. It has a very fast shutter (in excellent conditions) and in low light it performs flawlesly. I was looking for a camera that could bring me the options I had in the T3i but with a better feeling. As soon as I got mine I knew I was on the right track. it feels responsive, quick, and it's easy to use interface makes this purchase the best so far. Recommend to buy Canon cameras, they are intuitive and easy to use. Quality build is excellent.

The 7D is a fine camera. You can find out about it many places, so I'll limit my review to the Adorama experience. The camera arrived in a box marked as refurbished. I could find no issues with the camera or accessories. The camera arrive very quickly and well packaged. I would highly recommed an extended warranty as the refurbished product is only warranted for 90 days by Canon.

Feels great to hold, and the big viewfinder makes me happy. Autofocus and low light capability beat my old 20D. It was a worthwhile upgrade. Glad to be able to shoot some short movies.

I purchased the 7D for a back up to my primary camera. The first refurbished 7D had an issue with the quick control dial and was replaced by Adorama with out any issues. The second 7D seems to be better but still not as good my 5D mark 111. The camera was received with all of the miscellaneous items like it would if it was purchased new. The camera looks and operates as brand new and hopefully will function without any issues. I also purchased the Mack two year extended warranty just in case there is an issue with the camera. I think the price for the refurbished 7D makes it a good buy even if the unit will be your primary camera.

Canon changed the line up when they made the 60D a plastic camera to compete with Nikon's line up. The 7D is the replacement for the Prosumer or semi-pro entry level camera. Lacking in some of the extra dial a picture setups; but do you want a real camera made of metal with a fast burst speed of 8FPS and a solid feel in the hands, or a REBEL? Everything you need to create great images is here and easily available. Great focus system (changed from the old 9 point). Canon needs to pick up the pace in a general sense and not be a we have it to; they were great at kicking Nikon's butt and they need to do it again. This is a step in the right direction!

Works without any flaw so far. I also got a 70-200 f 4 lens for canon 7d and love the combination. I have take around 1000-1500 pics and haven't been disappointed yet.

Love this new DSLR I purchased as an upgrade to my photography equipment in preparation for launching my new business. Works perfectly, beautiful design and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this model for any up and coming professional photographers that are not quite ready to purchase a Mark series. The EF and EFS lenses work interchangably too so you can go full frame if you need to.

I am very happy with my Adorama purchase for the 7D. I was looking to make the upgrade from a Rebel and this was in my budget so it was the perfect match. The camera arrived literally the day after I ordered it. And I chose the free standard shipping. So that was impressive. The camera itself was packaged amazing, looks absolutely brand new, and has been working great. I am very pleased with my purchase and have always had a good experience with Adorama. I will continue to check here for items before purchasing elsewhere!

While away from home I decided to learn how to take better pictures. I have a T3i at home, and decided to upgrade to a more capable model. The refurbished 7D is everything a new Canon camera is, too include all of the factory accessories, only at a reduced price. I bought the 7D over a 5D mark II because, minus the "full frame" aspect, it is what the new 5D mark III is now at a fraction of the cost. I could not be happier with this purchase, and I am learning more about the camera and photography everyday.

I purchased the refurbished 7d primarily for telephoto shooting, mostly birds. I have a 5d mk II for everything else. This was my first refurbished camera so I was a bit apprehensive about the condition. I need not have worried. It was essentially as new. At this point I'd say I saved about $300 from the street price and gave up nothing. The 7d is a very good camera and far better for wildlife than the 5d. However, be aware that it doesn't handle high ISOs like the full-frame camera. I will use 800 if necessary but 400 or less is what I strive for. That makes for tough shooting in the early morning or late evening, which are some of the best times for bird photography. I'm learning to work with a better beamer flash.

I bought this for my second body, as I'm a photojournalist and was tired of changing lenses when I worked. Found this refurbished body at a great price. The 7D is the perfect camera for my work: fast focus and fps. Reliable, well built.
