Used 7D - in pristine condition, just as the website stated.

My Canon 7D came today. It was exactly as stated on your website. It works perfectly and looks as if it just came out of the box for the first time. I will certainly be purchasing more equipment from you in the near future.

Disapointed

I am on my 4th year with this camera and lens kit. My first time having a Canon product. I have sent the camera body and/or lens in for service 4 times now. My prior camera I had for 15 years and never sent it in for service. The first service was in the first week! The Canon service has been great. Up until now, all service was covered under warranty so the issues have never been at my error/fault. The service is always fast and friendly. So the two stars are for their service department. Kudos to them. Today I am buying a new lens to replace the lens that came from the kit as the lens is no longer under warranty and the repair estimate is $300. I shouldn't have to replace a lens that is only 4 years old. For the price of this camera I should not have to send it in for service so often.

Amazing camera

I have had my 7D over 1 year now and plan on using it as my secondary camera when I purchase my 5Dm3 next month. I love this 7D and wouldn't sell or trade it never. This camera has a good AF and the body itself has nice weather sealing. I just recently got some very good shots of the Gettysburg battlefield reenactment using a 70-200 f4L lens that has IS. Using the 7D's high shutter speed at 8fps hand held made for great action shots. Also very handy for all the activities of the grand kids. Just make sure to use a quality lens for great results.

Love the 7D

This is an exceptional camera. I bought this one for work. Personally, I had a Canon Mark II prior and after having a problem with it - brought it back and exchanged it for a 7D like this one that I bought for work. The focusing system is much better and has more quick button options. I absolutely love it and I don't really care that it's not full frame. I also missed that the Mark II didn't have built in flash. I'll be glad to have it back. If you want a step up from the Rebel series, but can't afford the Mark III (which has the same or better focusing system as the 7D) then the 7D is a GREAT choice. You could do the new 6D - which has online capabilities, but if you don't plan to use that (like I'm not) it will really drain your batteries... so why bother? I would recommend buying the 7D body only and buying a nice prime lens like a 55mm 1.4 or 55mm 1.8. The kit is okay - but if you like to shoot family photography - prime is better (in my opinion).

Loving it

I have had it for about a week and so far i am loving it - you have to have at least just a little bit of photography knowledge to handle it and get a quality picture however. Perfect for photo enthusiasts. One thing to keep in mind - this is not a point and shoot camera.

Excellent Product

Just learning to explore the multitude of wonderous functions. The EOS D7 has the quality and array of functions that will keep the camera relevant and functional for years to come.

Extremely nice camera

This camera makes a very good 35mm replacement and has so much more to offer. Learning the camera functions take time, but worth the effort. I believe most users will enjoy the Canon 7D.

Great replacement for my Canon Xti

Awesome product at a great price. Shipping was super fast and item arrived in a nice well protected package. The camera met my expectations. Get ready to read the manual 3 or more times to get used to all the menus and settings. Still have a lot to learn but so far I love the camera. Some people complaint about the camera noise but I guess you have to be a pro in order to realize that, I can't.

Great Camera

I upgraded from a Canon T1i to the Canon 7d. I had looked at several different DSLR's before settling on this one. Glad I did because it takes all the lens I used on my T1i. I was looking for a camera that would perform well in low light at a high ISO with little noise. This one fits the bill. The learning curve was about a week, but after watching the video's and practicing, I'm very comfortable with the camera and how it operates. The buttons on the camera are placed in good positions so you don't have to take yours eyes off of your subject, but can changes things (ISO, TV, AV etc. on the fly. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, Canon makes great products!

Why did I wait so long??

I have used a Pentax K100D for years and loved the camera and think Pentax makes great products. It came to a point though, where the new lenses were not supported by my old camera so I have held off buying anything. I spent a lot of time and did a lot of reseach and settled on a EOS 7D. I did this because I shoot a lot of the kids sporting events and wanted an 8 fps burst. Moving to Canon lets me get the option of buying or renting bigger lenses. This is especially important to me to also shoot wildlife. So far I am extremely happy with the camera even though I am still trying to learn the new features and the ability to control every aspect of the camera's functions.

a very good camera

I have had my 7D over 2 years now and plan on using it as my secondary canera when I purchase my 5Dm3 next week. I love this 7D and wouldn't sell or trade it never. This camera has a good AF and the body itself has an IS in it. I just recently got some very good shots of the blue angels in flight using a 70-200 f4L lens that didn't have an IS. of course using the 7D's high shutter speed at 8fps hand held. The 5Dm3 has modeled some of it's improvements off of the 7D features. If you don't want to spend a whole lot money on a camera right now get you a Canon 7D you won't be sorry.

Perfect All-Round Camera

Upgrade from my Canon Rebel T1i. I love, love, love this camera. The high ISO and fast shutter speed are amazing. I'll never be a pro but the 7D inspires me to keep trying.

Outstanding and Easy to use!

I only have used this a couple times since I purchased it but I do love it more than the Nikon 300 (I use the Nikon every day at work, not by choice). The image quality is beyond what I expected and I am sure it will get even better the more I get used to using it!

Canon 7D, I like!

I have not the use the camera very much as of this writing, 150- 200 pictures. Having had both Canon and Nikon, I fully expect it to meet my demands for photos. Do not really have anything to say bad about the camera. The pictures I have taken have had great color and sharpness. They have been hand metered and came out great, shooting car show outdoors. The few I have taken with camera metering have been pretty good. The small amount of video, one of the reasons for purchace, I have shot have come well for just setting on full auto. The more I get figured out, they should be great for my use. I should add, video is new to me. Other than having to learn this camera from the Nikons I have used, I'm sure I will find things I am not happy with. They come will all cameras. I find most things are due to operators lack of knowledge and how to work around problems. I classify myself between an enthusiast and semi-pro. I give the camera 4.5 stars.

Exceeds expectations for my work.

While I am not new to photography – I would consider myself to be an advanced enthusiast – I am new to DSLRs. Up to now my cameras have been 35mm Canon (AE-1 and EOS 620), and I needed a digital camera, cropped-frame, with HD video capability for scientific research documentation purposes (I am a University professor). I preferred to stay with Canon since I already had an assortment of EF lenses. After careful consideration of the technical specifications, reading numerous reviews and speaking with professionals, I decided on the EOS 7d. Thus far I have only had a few weeks' experience with this camera, and I am impressed with its capabilities in my hands – certainly exceeding my expectations. I would highly recommend the 7d to anyone who was looking to move up to an entry-level high-end DSLR. The additional accessories I chose that were required for my work at this time (macro photography for specimens, location landscape documentation, laboratory training multimedia presentations) will all be usable in the future as I plan to invest in a full-frame Canon EOS within a few years.

One Nice Camera

The Canon 7D is a very nice camera. The camera can be heavy especially if you use a battery grip. It is too bad the camera is not a full frame as that is my ultimate goal. My only recommendations regarding the use of this camera is pay attention to all of the focusing options and settings within the camera. The camera will focus on the closest objects unless to tell the camera where to focus. Once you learn how to do this you will love the photographs.

Good deal, but would pick differently

The 7D body is fantastic. No complaints there. The 28-135IS lens it came with, probably going up for sale on [@]. The problem for me is really bad lens creep. I primarily photograph reptiles and amphibians. This involves the lens being pointed down quite a bit. The creep makes the lens un-usable. If I hold the barrel to prevent creep, it then can't auto-focus.Other issues with the lens, it is too soft on the wide end and the IS is mediocre. I can get a decent image from Tamron SP70-300 fully extended at 300mm at slower shutter speeds than with this Canon lens, even though the Tamron is a longer lens. The bundle also comes with 4 4GB cards. They are not UDMA and 4GB just is too small for the resolution of this camera. They are in my bag, but as backups in case I really need them. They fill up too fast to use as regular cards. I recommend getting 16 or 32 GB cards.I have not yet toyed with any of the bundled software.4 star rating because the camera body really is fantastic. Lens, not so much.

Everything Canon claims and more...!

I had apprehensions about spending this much on a camera as I am only an enthusiast and nowhere near a pro. However I decided to move up from the Canon T1i, and I can't believe the difference of a full frame camera. I took it to Italy, and even with just the kit lens took spectacular pictures and video. What was even more impressive was the low light capability without again have to be a full SLR whizz... just stick it in "P" mode in stead of the fully automatic mode (which wants to utilize the flash) and I couldn't believe the pictures it generated. Anyhow... if you are a novist like me thinking of stepping up to the next level, I don't believe you will be disappointed in this camera. I just now bought the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 and now I realize what expensive glass can do. Hope this helps in your decision.
