This is great for when I?m doing product shots in studio or on a zoom call. I don?t have to worry about my battery dying during the middle of the meeting.

Works great! More expensive than other off brands but at least I have peace of mind that it shouldnt fry my camera.

Does not work with my 70D. Camera would not turn 'ON' checked and reconnected all connectors, re-inserting the 'battery' several times...nothing.

I was surprised how well this fit my 5D mkII and how well Canon planned for the cable path. Doesn’t get in the way of any of my other brackets or accessories. This will be very handy for backdrop photos at dances, product shoots, etc where my camera will be tripod mounted.

THANK YOU Adorama for matching just the right adapter to my camera body. Now that I am adding video to my still photography, this Canon AC Adapter will allow me to take on many more projects that require longer camera life for videos.

One of those things you need to buy sooner of later, so better get it right away. Expensive, yes, but better quality than other brands

I like having a power cord, and it does what it promises. However, it is awkward that you plug it into a faux battery. You plug the cord into the faux battery, and put it where the battery normally goes, then you open a tiny door right next to the battery door and feed the cord through it. The problem I am finding is that the cord itself fits so snug into the little drop down door that I always feel as though I am going to break the battery door when I try to shut it. The cord feels too big for the door. I would prefer a direct plug into the camera, but until that time I will use this. The cord itself works fine but it is a poorly design concept.

My comment reflects Canon's thinking on how they were going to meet the requirement for AC power to their camera, NOT the function or quality of the adapter iteslf, which is good. Virtually every other camera I have has a simple AC power input. The idea of requiring the use of a dummy battery reflects the fact that they simply did not think this alternative requirement through when they engineered the camera...definitely more of an after thought,,,"Ah, gee wiz, we forgot to have an ac power input????". I do extended interviews and don't need a lot of mobility, so it is adequate. They have a GREAT camera, but this kind of design/engineering is genuinely beneath Canon. But, there is no alternative. So yes, I'd recommend it.

excellent where the camera is in a fixed or relatively fixed location. cable lengths and bulk do not make for an easy free moving device but if you are on a stand and especially for long exposures this is excellent

Canon should be ashamed of themselves. This unit is a) Expensive b) Not well thought out The Nikon equivalent plugs into a dedicated power port on the side of the camera. This means that you can connect and disconnect quickly in the studio without futzing. The Canon unit is almost twice the price (!!) list and forces you to replace the battery with this dopey battery on a string equivalent and then fish it through the bottom of the battery compartment. That means going from powered to battery means having to swap out the battery instead of just disconnecting the unit from the side, like Nikon's (or practically every other digital camera, for that matter.) Shame on Canon on what is otherwise a good camera system! I'll give it provisionally a recommend, but only because there really are no aftermarket alternatives and if you need AC power, then you need this item. This just reeks of Canon's overpriced accessory system ($70 for an HDMI cable, anyone?)

its a great item if you are going to have the camera attached to another cord for tethering... Its a little bulky just to carry around but worth it.
