It is only ($) so I took a chance. The canon grips I have work perfectly all the time but the price they charge is highway robbery. I used this grip for a month and it works most of the time but from time to time it prevents the camera from changing shutter speed or f stop depending on what mode you are shooting in. I really shouldn't be too hard to make one of these. Oh well,

Style is slightly different than the Canon version, but it is a good fit and functions well. Worth the price. I find it difficult to remove the batteries for recharging. They have to be pried out of their position unlike the Canon version grip. For long or all-day shooting, I'd like to see additional battery holder inserts available for purchase. BTW- the battery holder inserts, though similar in appearance, are NOT interchangeable between brands of grips, namely between the Flashpoint grip and the Green Extreme Grip. This was a disappointment and the cause I gave only 3 stars.

Amazing deal for ($) (price I paid at the time). Works great except for two things. The dial that attaches the grip to the body seems flimsy (compared to the Vello equivalent). The major problem that I am having is that it seems to disable the dial by the shutter button sometimes. I have to use the dial on the battery grip to get my dial on my camera to work again. It can be very frustrating when you are in the middle of a shoot and I can't immediately change the focus location on the camera when needed. Other than that, it's a pretty nice and well made grip.

I have used Vello battery grips for years. It was time to replace, but since I purchased a new camera, I just added the flashpoint battery grip to the purchase. It just feels a tad cheap in the plastic. It does the job. The biggest thing that I don't care for, is when you tighten the grip, it doesn't stay tight. I'm always tightening it as the day goes on. It doesn't totally loosen, it's just not a snug fit. That's my only complaint, if you want to call it that.

I bought this for a new 5D Mark iii. Works great both for the battery and controls. Makes for a nice size grip for someone with larger hands. I am shooting with a 2.8 300mm and this helps balance the set up.

I found the canon brand battery holder was slightly over priced, this product is not a perfect substitute but it dies the same job. There is a slight difference in materials between the grip and the body however it is not noticeable unless you are looking for it. Function seems the same as the canon model, however I have not tested voltage out with a meter. I do wish the camera would drain one battery completely before draining the next because on long shoots it would be great for swapping one at a time and with 3 batteries it would be possible to shoot all day.

I bought this to counter the too expensive canon similar product. It fit and worked perfectly for about 1 month then it stopped recognizing both batteries. After a very hard process with Adorama they finally agreed to replace the unit but I had to give a credit card to advance the replacement. The replaced unit worked perfectly and I returned the defective unit expecting credit to be applied back to my card. Again another very hard process occured getting Adorama to honor their promist to issue credit back to the card. They are now saying that I didn't have to use my card to get the replacement - apparantly a new policy within the time I had made the replacement order. Today I await for them to receive the defective unit back and to issue proper credit. Thankfully my Discover card is monitoring this and will stop payment to Adorama if needed so I am not on the hook. Bottom line is it's probably a good product but just beware by my direct experience that Adorama changes their policy without notice.

I have the Canon battery grip for my 7-D but a friend told me about the Flashpoint when I purchased my 5D Mark III so I decided to give it a try. The grip is comfortable and so far I haven't had any problems using it. I'm very pleased with the performance and especially at such a price difference.
