When the grip works, it is very useful,. but I had to get another because the main dial started to fail when tried to adjust settings. It is not an option for the setting adjustment to fail! It is disappointing that a Canon accessory like this fails... I do not know whether is an isolated incident or is a common flaw of the grip. It had three years of use. Thankfully, I found a E+ used one that I hope last longer than the original one. Best regards

If you take alot of pictures you need this battery grip because it extends more time, though it adds some weight, but for me it is okay.

I use this product on the job. As a pro shooter, the added power of a second battery and the vertical shutter are essential. This generation has a different quality of resin used in the molding. Feels better in your hand but battery cover feels like it may break.

This was a great addition to my Canon 5d mark II. If you shot in portrait I would say it is a must have. Important controls are at your fingertips making changes to setting on the fly simple and easy. Holds two batteries which is great for a long day of shooting. Great product.

I was hesitant to buy a product used but went for it anyway. The battery grip was exactly as promised and works flawlesslly with my camera. I would not hesitate to buy used from Adorama again!

I use this product for portraits. While on a shoot, my camera's wheel on the top of my camera would'nt work. I took this unit off my camera and my camera started working. This unit is a month old.

Although the camera uses the batteries at a fairly fast rate, the grip helps vetricle shooting and uses AA style batteries for fast replacement.

for a person like myself with very large hands, it is a tremendous addition to my cameras. It makes my cameras a joy to handle instead of pinching my fingers together hoping not to drop my camera. It gives me a full hand grip on the camera. I use one on both of my cameras -60d and 5dmkii-and they are the answere to firm handling. If weight is a problem you can use them with only one battery with no problem. The added battery life while using two batteries is simply a plus but the additional grip size is a must.I wouldn't be without them.

Solid construction, flawless operation. Just waht is needed to shoot landscape panoramic pictures. Easy to hold, easy touch and grasp of controls w/o your eye leaving the viewfinder. A bit more expensive than the off-brand grips, but well worth the expense.

I have own multiple canon battery grip before and as always, canon has never failed to surprise me about its consistent build quality and weather proof sealing. Its always nice to have a back up battery whenever you are out in the field or just shooting around the house. Overall quality is superb, and Adorama has an outstanding customer service i ordered my items a night before with a next day shipping options, My product came in exactly 12hrs from when i ordered it. Outstanding job guys.. definitely recommend this place.

Full-time, long-battery-life... It definitely adds weight; but, it's worth it!

You get what you pay for. I had a cheap battery pack and as a result of using it, my camera was shutting down and locking itself up. I returned it and bought the original. No problems here. Recommended.

Does make holding the camera easier especially for portraits. Biggest problem is it can come a little lose so you have to.make sure it is tight before you start shooting .

I've read other reviews saying that this grip is too bulky, or that it to lose on the camera, this is not the case at all. Though the vertical grip could be a tad rounder, it is still a comfortable fit to the hand. The grip fits snug to the camera body, I have found no flexing or loseness that others say they have experienced.

I used to run out of battery charge without the grip. Now I can go multiple sessions (sometimes multiple weddings) without a full charge.

If you have trouble moving from landscape to portrait shooting, you need this. The BG makes turning your camera comfortable and easy. I find myself able to stabilize my body better when I have it attached to my 5d ii. ALL my bodies have battery grips. When you need to react fact and want to avoid those awkward positions, a battery grip can help.

Generally it is perfectly made, with the same materials like 5DMKII it self. Nice handling, and chunky! Make you more confident on your camera. Just a quick tip, after you take off your battery door, DO REMEMBER to put it into the battery grip's socket(or container), just to make sure you don't lose your battery door!

This item is a must have if you takes lots of video clips using your DSLR. You certainly will appreciate the long lasting power supply provided by this item and the ease and flexibility of changing the batteries. It is also a good item to have if you shoot lots of photos vertically. The vertical grip provided by this item comes very handy in those situations. The item's construction is very solid and fits snugly with the camera body. This item (with batteries inside) adds a little weight to the camera, however. But, it is something that you can get use to quickly if you like the convenience of a long lasting power supply and convenient vertical grip.

Extends video recording time when using live view, adds balance to camera when using L Series lenses. A bit pricey compared to the price of grips for other Canon cameras.

If you have the EOS 5D, then you must have the grip. Makes your battery life last longer, and easier to control the camera.

It helped me in keeping my camera better aligned for portraits. I feel a better grip of the camera. Initially I had doubts because its cost, but after been using it for several months, I would say It has been certainly one of the best investments I made for my camera. I would not buy a camera without it.

Makes the 5D2 feel really balanced. The grip is well constructed, has a great little stash place inside for your battery door cover.

Never wanting for battery power. Sips current with this pack. A must for vertical shooting. Very ergodynamically designed.

I've been using the battery grip for about two months now and am pretty impressed with it. In addition to the obvious help with extra battery power, the improved ergonomics with heavy L series lenses is substantial. On both my 24-70 and 70-200, the balance is much improved - I didn't realize what I was missing previously. I find myself shooting hand held more comfortably than before. The vertical shutter button is great - really helps out with portrait oriented shots. All in all, I'm happy with this product and recommend it. Just wish it was less expensive.

Let me preface my comments with this: I put a grip on all my bodies that accept them. I don't have particularly large hands, but I've always felt most comfortable shooting with a gripped body. Therefore I don't buy a body without purchasing the matching grip. I have dappeled in third party grips on some bodies and been very, vey unhappy. So I will also only purchase the Canon grips. Perfect, no. It still isn't as solid as if it was part of the body and I think a solid L-Bracket really helps out. And it does make it difficult for smaller camera bags. To me, the camera balences better, the additional batter capacity is an absolute necessity, and (since I also don't use neck straps) it's essential for any hand strap.

Plenty of battery power with the capacity for two or the adapter for the AAs. The grip provides excellent balance with the Canon 70 - 200 IS L lense. I gave a rating of four for the price. I toughed it out and paid anyway since I have already invested in high quality camera equipment. Go Canon!!

Makes 5DMKII even better handling!

I can't imagine not having this

I received my 5D and 24-105 lens with great joy only to find it very awkward to manipulate the zoom ring on the lens, which is very close to the camera body. When I added the grip, I found holding the camera to be much more balanced and all the functions on the lens to be easier to reach. Having the added battery power is a huge plus. I really would not want to use this camera without the grip.
