Had this scanner for more than 2 years and it works like a charm. Easy to set up and easy to use. I haven't had any problems with drivers like others. I am using it with Windows 10.

As a substitute teacher, I really needed a scanner for my home. I ordered the Canon CanoScan LiDE120 Flatbed Color Scanner and I love it. Best investment in the classroom this year.

It took forever to make the blasted thing connect. Finally managed to get it so that it scanned and put document on my computer. Now I cannot print the scanned document, receiving message that there is no printer. I have a perfectly good multi-use Brother printer that scans, but it is not a flatbed. I purchased this Canon to occasionally scan clipping or items not in normal paper size. It has been completely useless and a source of much frustration. Is it necessary to purchase a special printer to use? This is my first Canon product and unless something quickly changes, it will be my last.

I bought 3 of these scanners over the last couple of years. They are cheap and convenient because they don't require a separate power source - but all 3 have broken within a year of purchase. Same issue on each - they'll just suddenly stop scanning properly, stopping mid-way through a document. It's definitely not on the computer's end, because simply replacing it with another identical scanner fixes it.

Canon's camera's are excellent, but the CanoScan LiDe 120's software is terrible. I've used a variety of Canon DSLR cameras, scanners, and versions of Photoshop, and although the interfaces can become technical, the functions are logical and fairly intuitive. The Image Garden, ScanGear, and IJ Scan programs are not user-friendly to say the least. Reasons? Here ya' go... 1. Scanned images are not even basically editable (crop & rotate buttons are greyed out post-scan - add a hover over message clearly explaining why they're greyed out and how to fix the problem 2. After dragging the box over the image to crop it, add an "Apply" or "Cancel" button to make it happen 3. Add a "Save" button to every Image Garden window the image appears in (rather than none). If it's not possible to save an image in it's present state, have the button greyed out and add a hover over window explaining why and how to fix it 4. After performing basic edits in ScanGear you cannot save the image without opening Image Garden, where cannot edit OR save the image 5. Click "Edit" -> "Select All" -> and all items are selected, but that's it. There appears to be no way to edit them (or anything else) from there 6. Despite being USB cable connected, "Scanner cannot communicate with laptop" occurs frequenlty occurs, even after re-installing the programs 7. Scanner gets stuck in "Scanner is warming up" state, even after re-installing the programs 8. When creating a multi-page file, show each page as it's scanned and allow to change order of scanned pages 9. Programs do not respond to mouse's "back button" I can continue, but I think you get the point. There's a lot of work to be done on this software to make it user friendly. If Canon will revise the software I feel the LiDE 120 could a good product.

I wrote a review yesterday before I tried the downloaded driver to fix a W8.1 set-up. I got this scanner to work with the latest driver from this website. Still have issues. The buttons on the scanner do nothing but look pretty, but scanner can actually with patience be made to work.

I bought this product about a year ago after I swore I would no longer buy all-in-one printers because my latest one refused to let me scan because it was out of ink :\ I only used the scanner for scanning documents for record-keeping and photos, and this scanner is a perfect replacement. No messy power cords, just the one USB. I use it on my Mac, so I haven't had the issues with drivers that others seem to have had.

Scanner works very well using the "IJ Scan Utility" but the front panel buttons do not work under Windows 7. Portable, easy to store and set up. Fast, clear results, and very affordable... I just wish the buttons worked.

The is the second Canon Lide scanner I have owned in the last 10 years. The first was used heavily as a part of my mobile office, and was put through it's paces, used and abused, transported in a computer bag and until its passing, it continued to work flawlessly. When it finally gave up the ghost, I was sad to see it go, but it was its time. It served me well. This replacement shows all the initial hallmarks of its predecessor; reliable, easy to use, well made and with excellent image quality.

This flatbed is about as small as one could get, which is good, except that results in a very narrow depth of field. Only the surface of the glass is in focus. The software is better than the earlier versions, but quite lacking compared to other vendors'. Two major problems: You don't get to name the file exactly, and you can only chose to put in in My Documents, or My Pictures. To get it the way you want it, you must rename and move the resulting file, two extra steps other software does not require. And of course, moving is actually a two-step process, so that makes it three steps.

Small enough, lightweight, fast & has hinged lid. I bought it to replace a used one I bought recently, then returned for refund. I liked overall, but had issues with that particular item and how it was packaged for shipment. It appeared to be functionally damaged. So I browsed to find this new one for a few dollars less. I installed it pretty quickly but it took several tries to get it to run. I was a little discouraged, but determined. I checked the FAQs and there it was. I must plug directly to computer. I found getting a long USB extension also works. Not my ideal solution, but it does work on my Win 7 machine.

Sending back to Amazon.Never seemed to install from the disc,so I downloaded the software. It seemed it installed but doesn't run. After almost 18 hours of fighting this thing,it goes back.

I have needed a small, portable scanner to travel with me when I do research. I can't put photos through the portable scanners and needed a flatbed that would work on Windows 8. The CanoScan LiDE120 is just what the doctor ordered! If fits in my computer case, connects via USB and is fast and simple to use. It includes scanning software, is lightweight, compact and quick. Perfect!
