I wanted to know if this coupler has the ability to communicate with the camera and show the battery remainig, for example, if I connect this to a large capacity battery with 7.2v? Does it comes with a chip inside that tells you information like that? Thanks!ETIENNE G : I don't think so. The chip would have big difficulties understanding what is the power remaining in the battery. When plugged on 7.2V, or 8V, or anything in between, all the camera knows is that it's on "AC power" in opposition to "Battery" (it will display a battery icon with no level indicated)

Best purchase for my Canon 7D Mark II!

This DC coupler is the hardest to find, but well worth the wait. Moreover, you know that it’ll work in compatible cameras, unlike aftermarket versions that are half decoded or fully decoded.

Worth the investment in the long run!

It works perfectly for my 5D Mark II & IV as well as my 60D. I was reluctant to spend the ~$150 for the whole combo but then I realized it's roughly the price of 2 official Canon batteries that will last forever will wall power. So I ended up buying 2 sets of them! I appreciate how long the cord is, it's very accommodating and the connection to the adapter is fairly secure, nothing that causes worry. Overall, I paid for the peace of mind knowing that this wouldn't damage my expensive camera bodies like some possible 3rd party options might.
