I received this camera yesterday and was anxious to try it out. The pairing of my computer for WiFi was fairly tedious and involved, I think mostly because I'm running Windows 7. I had to disable my spyware and preform several other steps to finally get it to work. Once done, I was amazed at the features on the camera like the clarity of the zoom, the macro, and bokeh effect when desired. I shoot hundreds of photos weekly hiking and climbing in the mountains. I want a point and shoot that i can carry in my pocket and takes good pics of wildflowers, insects, small animals as well as mountains, rocks and people that share my adventures. I have a larger Canon SX and a DSLR for more serious stuff. But this replaces my older similar camera of another brand that is developing focus issues. This 340HS has exceeded my expectations so far and downloading images to my computer is fast and painless.

Bought one of these to expand my YouTube presence and I really loved the quality andf durability. Pics were always chrisp and sharp, videos were always clean and looked awesome. The forward facing mic made vlogging easy and sound was always great. This camera was amazing until my kids got a hold of it and it broke. I am lookng to get another one soon.

It's a HD camera and that's a good thing, but it has focus issues. While in video mode it will suddenly move out of focus while on a tripod. It Blurs and with no apparent reason. Puts a huge damper on making videos.

I love my canon power shot. I have several grandkids and it is nice to catch captions for memories. I love the multi shot feature on it,also. Iti is fun to play with. The video work well, too. It was a wonderful Birthday gift. The battery does not hold up like I would like it to.

I was looking for a camera for travel but not sure what to get. Store recommended the Canon PowerShot. I took it with me on vacation to Puerto Rico and it worked well. I liked pretty much everything about it. It was easy to set up and easy to use. I love the battery charger, no more batteries. The only thing I had some problem with, and it is probably me and the settings I have it on, was when taking indoor photos the time delay was a little excessive for my tastes, I would buy this camera again.

I selected the Canon ELPH 340HS based on the reviews, mega-pixels, zoom strength and WiFi capabilities. I was successful with WiFi connection to my Android phone in about 5 minutes but struggled with the WiFi connection to my laptop computer with the latest OS. I worked on the setup for probably 8 hours and I finally got it to work!! After alot of reading and searches for help I did have everything setup correctly except I needed to change the AutoPlay for the device. Once I switched that, using the Canon Knowledge base article for WiFi setup, it works great!! So happy with my new camera and it's WiFi capabilities. It takes great pictures ad can't wait to use i on our summer vacation.

Better photos than cell phones and more convenient than a SLR or large camera. I've taken photos at various events. The camera fits in a pocket and people have complimented me on the photos. Some of the photos are excellent and optical zoom is a plus. Good Optical Zoom and Image stabilization. Clear, well focused photos at Iso 100 - 400. Low light photos and Video are good, but it depends on the conditions. No Viewfinder. LCD is difficult to see in bright sunlight. Limited features and settings, but there are useful scene modes. The wrist strap is difficult to attach as the slot is too small. Carry an extra battery or use 2 cameras if you take a lot of photos. I use the Eco mode and turn off Wi-Fi and the battery can last for more than 200 photos. Overall it's a good pocket camera with good quality photos.

This is a great camera for picture quality and it has a lot of function. I had problems with the WIFI functions of the camera. I ended up buying a SD card reader to transfer images to my computer. Great camera but just be aware that it takes some technical ability to get the WIFI functions to work.

Love the camera. Outstanding features easy to use, first timers with this digital really need to read the book to understand the features. Have used Canons for over 40 years and this is a very fun, light, sharp pixel camera. Like Mimi from Portland, connecting to Wifi and computer is a bear, I still have not succeeded that part of the book is not very user-friendly.

I love Canon and my new Power Shot, just wish I could figure out how to link it wireless to my computer. Being wireless it is a bit difficult to get the card out to download pictures. Other than that I am very happy with my new camera. Great for carrying in my pocket or handbag as it is so small and light. And it take great pictures too.

I have been searching and researching the best camera to help me with my art work. I am so impressed to find that this Canon PowerShot ELPH 340HS is exactly what I need. Now I get clear shots, zoom shots for portraitures, landscapes...anything I want. I like when I take a shot I don't get a delayed picture, I get exactly the picture I want. Great Price and Great Digital Camera.

The ON-OFF switch is too sensitive. Just grabbing at the camera or bouncing around in a purse could turn it on. The result is extra battery charging. I do not like having to take the battery out of the camera to charge it. I prefer my previous camera which allowed a cord connected to the camera for charging. Less parts to take out is safer. Display screen pictures seem grainer than my previous brand.

This camera took the best Christmas photos: I had a PowerShot ELPH 110 prior to this one. It was a good camera but I wanted the extra telephoto in this model. Well worth the $$ to upgrade.

This little camera is the best small Canon have ever owned. The shutter is almost instantly responsive so the usual delay found with the PHD cameras is gone and none too soon. The photo quality is outstanding and is nearly a match for my Canon DSLRs. Really love this little gem which fits in the pocket and can be used with or without the flash. My only quibble is the lack of the full manual in the package because was unable to download until our trip was over. However, the controls are intuitive. Canon has really outdid itself with this little gem.

I love this little pocket camera. Takes beautiufl photos. This is my third. Last two lasted about five years each and then the lens motor went out. I do use this camera ALLOT, everyday. I do have the latest model android phone with a great camera and tried using just that for 6 months. I still long for this so just got the newest model. The download is very easy.

I am a Canon fan. I just bought my third Powershot camera, an ELPH 340 HS. PROS: Canon quality, great zoom and pixels, very much like my older Canon. Point and shoot. May favorite. CON: This camera came with wi-fi for downloading pics to either my phone or computer. I am not tech savy and after days of frustration in trying to set-up the wi-fi, I ended up buying a usb cord to download the pics the old fashion way, which works for me. Note: Since the camera has wi-fi, it does not come with a usb. You can use any Canon usb, but I gave my old camera away with the cord. Thus I had to buy one. I'm still a Canon fan. I hope they keep building on the quality and keep it simple to use.

Bought my new compact canon with Christmas money cause I knew I was going on a trip. Have a big Canon reliable for years but heavy & bulky for travel. This Canon PowerShot ELPH 340 HS did wonderful. Very light weight, small, zooms in & focuses better then expected. Have even shot photos of moving object that turned out great. Love it, highly recommended.

This camera is perfect for fitting into a pocket or purse with no problem. It's lightweight and has all the features I wanted except GPS. I tried a camera with GPS but it was too heavy to keep in a pocket. Takes great photos and movies. It has a 12X optical zoom which is perfect for me. Any higher and I have problems keeping the camera steady enough for either movies or single photos. Great for an amateur like me.

Love it. So easy to learn how to use the features. Love the Wi Fi. I love being able to send my pics directly to my pc email or facebook. I like how you can turn the camera around and the picture auto rotates like an I pad. it is fun and I am enjoying exploring all the features. I got it in purple and it is so pretty. Great purchase and I highly recommend it.

We bought this for our daughter at Christmas. We also bought a second battery and made sure both were charged. In less than 100 pictures (no flash on most), the first battery was dead. Replace battery and repeat. Less than 100 pix per battery is unacceptable. We've since bought a third battery. I looked into turning off wi-fi to save battery, but didn't see where this could be done. Something needs to be done to improve battery life!

Tried to go on Canon website to download manual for my new Power Shot camera (model ELPH340HS) - site. said camera is purple but mine is black. Anyway - the site said that there is no manual for rmy camera! Very frustrating. How do I get the necessary instruction manual?!!! Also, I had looked at all paperwork that had come with the camera to try to find out how to register it but to no avail. I had to call the store for help - they referred me to canon.com where I was able to register it. !!!!!!!!

Been trying to connect to web to authenticate with no success, so basically the extra $'s spent on that option is useless and the reason I bought a camera in the first place. Way to difficult and inoperable for a direct link, too many hoops, so I plug it in my laptop and transfer to FB same way I do with my other camera.Still haven't connected to my wireless printer either. I would skip those options and invest in a better camera.

I have been using Canon cameras since my first digital camera. These little Elphs have gone with me to Germany and Iraq. I really like the slimmer body of the 340HS. I have never had a camera with WiFi before but it was easy to connect to my home network and from there, my printer and computer. I am very new to smartphones and with downloading the Canon app that I found, I was instantly able to use my phone to remote shoot my camera. Like a lot of people I am use to the disc and cord being in the box but I realize, I never use them. I always take the card out of the camera and put in my computer to take pictures off anyways. As for the disc, I've always gone to the website and just downloaded the most recent software and driver if needed. I know if I need a cord, so many other things I have come with cords, I can find one. 16MP and 12X zoom is an awesome combination along with 1080p video. I love this camera. I love it's size. I like that no matter what mode I'm in, if I want to shoot a video, I only have to press the video button. The only downside I see isn't with the camera, it's with the whole package deal. I am still surprised the camera didn't come with at least an 8GB card. Most of my other Canon cameras have always come with a camera case and a memory card. It is a shame not to get those with this camera, but not a good enough reason to miss out on such a well built one.

Not at all happy with my new Elph 340 HS, the same model 3 years ago had an all metal case, came with a memory card, and a usb cable. I was expecting an upgrade but instead it's a cheap shadow of it's former self. I can't even test it out, never heard of a digital camera that came with no memory what so ever, and so no way to use it out of the box. Furthermore, I couldn't even find this model listed on the page I was directed to for software. I'm returning it.
