Very Poor

I have owned for 2+ years. It has always been difficult to use but now will not copy. It gives contant errors saying paper is jammed when there is no paper in it.

Two Failures in 18 months

I have had my Canon Pixma G4200 for about 18 months. Canon had to replace the first one because I was getting horrible color prints. After they replaced it, the print was better. Definitely not a great photo printer. Now, I've had my second failure. This printer is not a heavily used printer. It should not have failed again. This time the printer is fried. I am getting an error code that cannot be fixed. According to Canon there is no service option for the printer. I can only purchase a new printer. For the price of this printer, I should not have seen a failure like this already. Either be sure to buy an extended warranty or do not buy this printer.

The worst printer ever...

I bought this printer from Staples and now own it for more than a year now. All along, there is hardly any day that this printer does not surprise me with additional problems. Oh, if you change the ink catridges, that sets up whole suite of new problems. Choosing a paper size is writing a manuscript for science journal. And to top on all, the WORST EVER customer service from canon. They dont respond, their website is equally unresponsive. I took the printer back to the Staples but it was beyond return period so now I am stuck here with this printer. If you would like to have ulcer or acid reflux this is the best printer. If you want to raise your choleterol this should be your first choice. Besides noise and all other assorted problems, I can gurantee you that this printer will suck the life out of you. Connecting it with your computer will be additional headache, I got it connected through Canon app. Your computer will not detect this printer. Currently I using this printer for anger management issues, it relieves of anxiety and futility of expecting perfection from anyone. It has now a constant source new inspiration to deal with lifes challenges and curve balls the situation throws at you. I print most of my stuff in my office. But when I want to print my sudoku, I use my cell phone to get the job done. I personally think, there are products that teaches you many things in life, I found this one and I am closer to being enlightened. Now I have developed new perspective on life, I can be a motivational speaker, endless possibilities came up with this printer which hiterto my seculuded life was unaware of. Now I have constant source of challenges and I am devising my strategies to maintain my composure. Except printing, this printer has done everything me. If this is something you want from your printer then you got one! As of writing this email, I am dealing with an error code: support code 5800. Since there is no support, I am just meditating now!

I loved everything but the set up.

Every think was perfect until I started installing the software. First it said to go to cannon.com/ijsetup, it always went to the corporate site nd I finally had to google may way in. Then it was fairly easy. Except once I had installed the app, etc. I couldn’t use it to print doc’s. After fooling around 20 minutes I realized I didn’t need anything installed for printing with wifi, I would liked a brief up front note that let me know that. I’ve printed a bit things since and think I’ll save a ton the ink is easily replaced and I won't have to slow away a cartridge that still has a few pages left in it. Pl us the printer cost was lower than any othe tank p run er I’ve seen!

Never worry about your ink again!

This printer is awesome! I never even think about the cost of ink when I print, and I print at least 100 pages a month with normal quality. With my previous printer, I was always printing fast draft and still running out of ink way too often. There are a couple of improvements that could really improve the user experience. Most annoying is that you have to hold the power button down, literally for 10 seconds before letting go, in order to turn off the printer. There is no auto duplexing, but at least the software makes 2-sided printing easy enough with a little animation showing you how to re-load the paper. An annoying part about the duplex printing is that you have to hit "continue" on the computer popup; you can't just hit the OK button to continue printing. The LCD screen is super dull and hard to read. If these were fixed (easy to read LCD screen, auto duplexing or at least being able to just hit OK to continue printing the other sides, only having to hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn off, then I would give it five stars.

Lacks Two-sided Printing, Paper Cassette, & Light

This printer does not do duplex (2-sided) printing, does not have a paper cassette for holding large amounts of paper, and does not have a screen that lights up. Do not buy this printer if those features are important to you!

Paper Feeder Jams & Angles Paper (bad design)

The scanner paper feeder has the feed motor off to the side, so it consistently twists the papers as it tries to feed them through. The result it angled scans and paper jams way too often. Not happy with the feeder functionality at all. The print quality and ink use are great.

Need Auto Duplex printing

All other features in this printer are great including the Big Ink Tanks. One sorely missing feature is auto duplex printing. I dont mind if that feature is added with a marginal price increase as well. Please add that feature to this model, Canon...!

Horrible wireless setup

I just bought this this afternoon and have been trying to install the wireless setup for the last several hours, still no luck. I have followed to the letter the instructions for every type of install and still cannot get it installed. I recently installed an epson ecotank for my dad in 30 minutes and he loves it. I can USB connect but I need wireless. If you can do with hardwire hookup this is a solid printer. The only reason I gave it a two instead of 1 is because the quality is very good although it does not print double sided.

Good, not great

I really like the idea of the bulk ink design (MegaTank) and I have had good luck with the Canon Pixma printers (have older Pixma MP950), so the automatic document feeder (ADF) option and need for WiFi is what pushed me up to having to get the G4200 model. But at this price point the printer should really include a larger interface screen (most messages have to scroll) and a dedicated paper cartridge/cassette. Also, when comparing the overall feel/sturdiness to my old Canon Pixma MP950 this new printer feels really cheap/flimsy...I just expected a little better. I went in to this purchase with my eyes wide open about only having a paper tray in the back of the printer (not overly excited about it though), but I'm definitely disappointed in the cheap/flimsy feel of this printer. Overall, I'd recommend it for the bulk ink design, but watch out if you're expecting a 'sturdier feel' of some other older/larger printers and a paper cartridge/cassette.

So Much Ink!!

I was a bit nervous about pouring in the ink - I have never done anything like that before and was expecting it would be a big mess. It was so easy!! I never spilled a drop of ink. I did accidentally put the little stopper back in upside-down, and when I fixed it, I got a little bit of ink on my hand, but it wasn't much. It didn't wash off right away, but was gone after I showered that night. I am very excited about the amount of printing and copying that I can do with this amount of ink. But, was also skeptical, wondering how much would these little bottles of ink cost to replace? Not too much, it turns out. When I need to replace them, it will actually be less expensive than replacing the ink cartridges in my old printer - which doesn't even last as long. I did have trouble connecting the printer wirelessly to my computer. As of now, I still haven't been able to do it. I am definitely looking forward to being able to print directly from my phone, once I get that set up. I found the printer and copier functions to work well, and pretty quickly. I liked the way the prints and copies looked - no fuzzy lines or anything. The copies didn't look like copies, as they can sometimes do. They were as crisp and clear as the originals. I thought the machine was a bit loud, but not any louder than my old printer. I have no use for the fax, as I don't have a phone line. So, unfortunately I can't review that feature. I gave a 4 star rating instead of a 5 star because I wasn't able to easily set up the wireless connection. I was sent a free sample to use and review, but my review is my own honest opinion.

Great Printer!

I received a free sample of this printer to review, and overall, I have really enjoyed this printer. While the set up was not super easy or intuitive, once I got everything set up and was able to wirelessly connect my laptop to this printer, it has worked great. The print quality is clear and it looks great. If there was a way to make the set up easier, then that would make it a perfect printer!

Refillable ink is AMAZING!

I received a free sample of this printer in exchange for my honest review, and I’m really glad I did! Overall this is a fantastic printer/scanner/fax. The main feature that sets it apart from other printers is the refillable ink. At first I was a bit skeptical about refillable ink (I was worried it might be messy – but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The ink comes in squeeze bottles that dispense into the ink-tanks inside the machine. It is super easy to do, and there’s even a video you can access to show you how. Once it’s set up, you can see exactly how much ink is left in the clear windows of the ink tanks without even opening the printer cover. Unlike traditional printer cartridges, where you’re never quite sure if you’re running low – you can actually see it and reorder ink and refill as needed! While I’ve only used the printer for a couple of weeks, it seems as though the tanks will last a long time. The printer was very easy to set up. The instruction manual has QR codes that you can scan that link to videos showing each step of the setup process. I’m a visual person, and much preferred watching the videos to reading the manual. Once you set up the ink and turn on the printer, connection to the wireless network and your computer is a breeze. I downloaded a program onto my Mac and it walked me through the process. My computer seemed to magically recognize the printer, even though I never told the printer which wireless network to connect to. In the past, I’ve had problems with other wireless printers– but not this one! As for actual printing – the quality of both black and white and color ink is good. A minor downside is that the printer is a bit noisy – but this shouldn’t be a deal breaker. Lastly – I have to mention one of my favorite features: Canon has an app for your smartphone so that you can print photos and documents directly from your phone to the printer! AMAZING and so easy! I already printed a few on regular printer paper. The color and crispness of the ink is great. I’m excited to try this on some actual photo paper, since the printer can apparently do borderless printing. Overall – I would recommend this printer. In and of itself, it’s a solid product. Beyond that, the refillable ink tanks and easy wireless setup are huge bonuses. Well done, Canon!

Learning curve but worth it!

I received a free sample of this printer in exchange for writing a review. I was given very little time to use the product before I was demanded to turn in my product review. I felt like the instructional material and even online videos were a little hard to follow. I could not get this printer to work for several days and I consider myself very technologically savvy. I tried several different ways and could not get a working connection. However, after the printer did connect I think this was one of the best printers I've ever used! I printed over 500 pages without a single paper jam, printer issue, fading ink, etc. The fact that you put in all of that ink up front instead of changing cartridges all the time is what makes this printer a must have for me. I am actually going to get rid of my other printer and keep this one! After all of the trouble I had at first I have really fallen in love with it in the last week.

Nifty printer!

The Canon Pixma G4200 offers a lot of features. It scans, faxes, copies, and prints. I really like the ink refill system on this printer. Instead of buying cartridges, you can simply refill with a bottle of ink. The printer produces good quality photos and prints relatively quickly. I print a lot of materials for graduate school and the printer is reliable. It would be nice if it did double sided printing, and if it does I`ve yet to figure out how. My roommate complained that the printer was a bit loud, I agree it can be a little clunky at times. The installation process was super annoying. We have another printer that you simply connect to via Wifi, both with laptops and phones or tablets. This printer requires that you install drivers and an app on the phone to be able to use the printer. So if anyone else in the house wants to use it, they have to go through a pretty lengthy process. Otherwise, I like the printer. The ink refill makes it more economical and earth friendly and once it is installed, it works really well. I was given a free product in exchange for my honest review.

Best printer I 've owned!!!

Canon Pixma G4200 is the best all in one printer I've owned. It was very easy to assemble. Took me about 20 min to have it up and running. The best part about it is that I can clearly see how much ink is left, and I don't need to dig in the middle of the printer to replace cartridges. The color containers is where we put color after you see you're running out. It's a big plus, cause I don't have much room in my office so the printer is on the shelf. With my old printers, everytime I wanted to replace the cartridges I had to take the whole printer out and replace the cartridges. Not anymore, this one saves me a lot of time. Wireless set up was super easy. I connected two computers, a smartphone, and a ipad with no problems at all. We use the printer for business and home, so print about 50 pages, or more, a day. I have not used 1/4 of the ink for 10 days, comparing to my last printer, the ink would've been halfway used. That means it's gonna last longer, another bonus I don't need to replace the cartridges every month! I should mention that I was sent free sample to use for this review, but I would gladly pay for it cause it's worth every penny. As a business owner a good printer is a staple, and products that make my work easier are worth the price. Canon Pixma G4200 is a great, all in one, printer , fax, copier, it's a staple in every office/house. I would happily recommend it to anyone.

Amazing!

I received a free sample of this printer and I am so happy that I signed up for it! Being someone who's is in school for finance as well as working full time in sales I'm printing hundreds of pages weekly for papers, spreadsheets and portfolios I was getting tired of having to buy ink cartridges very frequently. Several hundred pages later with this printer and I've barely noticed a change in the ink levels which is amazing. Also, my girlfriend is a picture person and she loves the fact that she can print high quality borderless photos straight from her cell phone. With this printer everything is so far so good and I highly recommended it! I can't wait to continue using this printer and seeing how long it takes to actually use up all the ink.

Versatile

I was sent a free sample for my honest review of this product. I'd like to give a quick overview of the appearance of this printer. This printer is not heavy and bulky. It has a solid and sturdy appearance as well. With regards to installation of the printer, I'd say it took me about 15 mins. The printer comes with an instruction which is clear and easy to follow, there's even a video you can watch for a step-by-step process. Makes the job 10x easier. Next step is connecting your printer to the network so you can connect it to your computer or phone. That can be done either wirelessly or wired or USB. I did mine wirelessly. If you know your router, this process can be done easily as well. Depending on your network, i'd say finding a connection for the printer should also be fast and easy. I was able to connect this printer to my Mac laptop, iPhone and iPad with no problem. There are 4 things you can do with this printer; to print, scan, make a copy and fax. Printing is smooth, there's option to either Black and White or colored. There's option for paper size, # of pages, lay out. The downside i have with printing is i find it a bit noisier than what i currently use. First time printing i thought the printer is broken but its just the sound as its printing. I've had printer that prints faster but this printer is pretty fast too. Scanning is easy to do as well. I did not see this feature described in the manual but on canon website, they give you a step-by step process to start the scanner. It was simple to follow. Copying is easy as well. You can load 1 document at a time or put all documents at once in each corresponding slots. In order for the printer to know which 4 actions you want to do, you need to click on the corresponding buttons within the printer. The quality of the prints and copies are good. There's step-by-step guide for this too on their website. Using it was easy. My favorite feature of this printer is judging the size of the printer, it was quite impressive that it has 4 functions. Its readily available to you based on your needs of the printer. Another feature i like is the eco settings. The printer goes to idle when not in use but comes right back on when you need it without having to manually turn it back on from the printer. I would personally recommend this to anyone who has the need to print, copy, scan and fax. I would say this product met my expectation of canon. Minor improvement i'd like to see is reducing the noise it makes when printing and copying. My over all impression of the product is that it does its job well, not a rocket science to figure out how to use it and the quality of the prints and copies is very good, colored or non-colored.

I Love It!!!

Hi all, I received a free sample of the Canon G4200 Printer, and I can not believe how fast and efficient it is!! I can do just about everything with this machine. It prints, copies, faxes, and scans. I Love the ink that comes along with it. It comes in bottles making the printer more economical for all. I got frustrated with buying those cartriges that run out in 50 pages of print, This printer is fabulous!!! I have printed large jobs, and it still has plenty of ink. My only issue was trying to get it connected to my devices, but the instructions were to the point and able to be found online as well. I was having trouble because my computer does not have a cd compartment, but I did it wirelessly, and it connected in no time!! This printer is Amazing, I would truly recommend it. Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion.

Love the visible ink cartridges

Overall, this is a great ink jet printer. I received this printer as a free sample to use for this review and found it does everything the all-in-one printers do- print, copy, fax, and scan. Copy and print qualities are very good. I`ve used the printer and copier for a week but not yet used the scan or fax functions. Set up was very simple- in less than 20 minutes I was printing my first document. I`ve connected the printer to multiple PC`s for wireless printing- one old Windows, a new Windows pc, and a Mac. All connected easily. The buttons and functions on the actual printer are very intuitive. I didn`t think I would like the paper loader being on the back of the printer, but I`ve found that it seems to feed better than paper trays located on the bottom. The only negative I`ve noticed is that when the printer has been `asleep` and `wakes` to print, it is a bit loud and it takes a minute before the print job prints. However, the fact that this printer has giant ink cartridges trumps the little bit of noise. The ink cartridges were simple to fill and included in the box. I had them filled in the 20 minute setup. I LOVE the fact that the cartridges are visible from the front of the machine so you know exactly how much ink of each color remains. I`ve always found it frustrating that you never really knew how much ink you had remaining in other printers I`ve owned requiring backups to be on hand for the `Murphy`s law` of a print project. The cartridges are quite large which is another plus as I print quite a bit and the printer doesn`t appear to be `eating` ink.

A good choice for personal & business use

I received this printer for free to review and provide an honest assessment of it. I frequently use printers for business and personal use. I often work from home, and I found a high-volume inkjet printer to be appealing for printing business reports, scanning documents, and printing images for craft projects. Setting up the printer is relatively simple. It is easy to fill the tanks with the ink. I like that the ink levels can be seen on the front of the printer. The printer is on the larger size, due to its all-in-one features, and seems rather bulky. It has a document feeder, which is very handy. However, the printer paper tray is top loading. That takes up extra space. The plastic feels a bit flimsy. I am not sure how long it will hold up to repetitive opening and closing of the lid for scanning. The power connection is on the side. This makes it awkward to connect with the computer if not using it wirelessly. The display screen is too narrow and not back-lit. The printer has wireless connection. I was able to install the driver using the provided CD, as well as install using the app on my Android phone. The app is user-friendly; however, the computer program requires a learning curve. Document scanning and printing is fast and quiet. Picture printing quality is good to average. I think it would be better to replace the fax with an email screen. I think that would be more useful for personal or business projects. Overall, I would rate this printer as above average, primarily due to its high-capacity ink tanks. It is more economical than purchasing multiple ink cartridges.

Sanity restored! No more ink-cartridge roulette :)

Canon’s new “MegaTank” printer line aims to fix the biggest problem we’ve all had with inkjet printers since the beginning of time: running out of (expensive) ink at the worst possible time. The Canon Pixma G4200 brings a sense of stability and visibility back to your home office or small business by giving you a clear view of exactly how much ink remains in your printer at all times, and the ability to refill each color “tank` immediately from a bottle of inexpensive ink. No cartridges to replace when you suddenly need some cyan or yellow or magenta or black; just pop open an airtight “stopper” on top of the correct tank, squirt in some replacement ink, and carry on with your business! I received a free evaluation unit for providing an open and honest review of the product. But it’s well within the price range of what I would consider paying for a home office upgrade, especially if I was starting with an old-school, waste-your-money-and-time inkjet printer of days gone by! The G4200 model is a multifunction (fax/scanner/copier/printer) or “all-in-one” unit and it supports AirPrint (so you can print those boarding passes from your smartphone just before you head out the door!). A full wi-fi setup routine allows you to use your existing network without the need to run cables to a router. Canon claims a capacity of 6,000 black pages and 7,000 color pages with the ink INCLUDED in the box at first setup. I can definitely see the exact levels in the ink tanks through a front-facing clear window, and there seems to be no less ink now than when I first started. Remember, most cartridges used to be measured in PICOLITERS of ink (that’s one-trillionth of a liter!), and Canon’s ink supply bottles are roughly the size of a tiny juice or soft drink can. It connected most easily to my iPhone 7 and allowed to use AirPrint from elsewhere in the house - a wonderful feature. The LCD display on the printer is not illuminated or backlit, and it doesn’t tilt up from the horizontal top surface, so the printer needs to be placed in a spot where you can easily look directly down into it to see the messages it displays. Once everything was set up and running, it seemed to work reliably for most of my test projects. The Canon Pixma G4200 is solid and fun to use. I love the easily-viewable ink tanks and the notion that I won’t have to guess remaining page counts (or rely on a software driver to communicate status) — now I can just LOOK at what’s going on, without opening any covers or even being at the computer. PROS: Visible-tank ink system, high printing capacity, current-technology wi-fi and wireless printing from your smartphone, small footprint, easy setup. CONS: Some technical savvy required for wi-fi setup, and a software/driver/utility interface that could use some user interface improvements; LCD display not in an ideal location for front-viewing. I would recommend the Canon Pixma G4200 to anyone who’s tired of the ink-cartridge-game and just wants reliable, over-the-air printing and basic office functions in a sturdy, attractive unit.

Love the big ink tanks!

Overall, I think this is a great, well designed printer with good printing quality and ease of use. I received this printer as a free sample to review and have listed my personal pros and cons... Pros: I love the fact that this printer does not have separate cartridges- the ink tanks are large, very easy to fill and I can immediately see from the outside (without lifting the lid) how much ink I have left. LOVE THAT. It also holds a lot of ink. I print everything from full color flyers, labels and photos to black ink contracts and reports. The print quality overall is very good. Very tiny bit of banding but you really have to look hard. The black prints are nice and crisp. The printer is efficient and noise level is pretty quiet. The size and compact nature of this printer is great and it is all black so it looks clean and neat in my office without taking up a huge amount of space. Love that this is an all in one printer, scanner, copier and fax. The scanner bed is 8.5x12 so letter documents are no problem but legal would have to be adjusted. The scanner also has an autofeeder which I love. This printer easily connects wirelessly to both my computer and my smartphone- making it super easy to quickly print whatever I need from any source without worrying about wired hookups. Cons: The display scene is slightly small, wish it were bigger. The moving parts (paper trays, scanner lid, top unit lid) are all made of what feels like extremely cheap plastic. They seem to rattle a good bit when moving them into place and makes me concerned about how long they will hold up to wear and tear. Also, the unit lid which you have to lift up to access the printheads and the ink tanks only opens at a small angle which makes it hard to see inside the printer when setting up and doing maintenance (including filling the ink tanks). The widest it opens at the front is 6` and even just an extra inch would have made it a lot easier to work inside. Luckily the ink tanks are at the front, so once you install the printheads hopefully there won`t be much need to get under there- so far no paper jams. So far the blue/green range of color printing has been spot on, but the red/orange range is slightly lack luster and tends towards being less intense than the actual image.

Very nice printer

I received this printer free for review. This printer for me was kind of hard to assemble. While taking it out of the box, I thought it was going to be very simple. Once I looked at it, I was overwhelmed about filling out the ink. I am use to having ink cartridges that fit right into the printer. With this printer, I had to fill in the ink. After I assembled it, it printed very nice. Don`t know if I would recommend it because of the filling in of the ink. Overall, it is a good printer.

Great All in One Home Office Printer

Overall I love this printer, but it does take some patience and time to setup. I should mention that I was sent a free sample to use for this review. The packaging was great, not to big and fairly light. The instructions are very detailed. It comes with QR links to view videos that were extremely helpful. It took me about 45 minutes to set up. I would read the directions, review the video, then go along with the video. The instructions are great with even detailed prompts that appear and how to move forward. I know it took me longer than usual the first time. But now I know how to refill it so easily. It's really cool because it is the equivalent of 30 color cartridges. The one thing that I hate about inkjet printers is how quickly you go through cartridges and it seems like whenever I need it I'm always out. Between tickets, our children's homework and daily printing needs, I am always out of ink. Then when you go to install, it wastes the other inks. This one looks great. The bottles that you use to fill up the reservoirs are huge. They look like 5 ounces (70 ml actually for color & 135 ml for the black) I have to imagine that these will last. And you can actually see how much ink is in the machine because the ink reservoir is transparent so you can actually see the levels of ink. I was able to directly print wireless from my iPhone. It downloads an app and took all of 15 seconds to print. I was able to print wireless from my iMac too. A color calendar within 20 seconds. This printer is fast and prints very well & consistent. I am so excited to get rid of my old Epson with it's many expensive cartridges. Very pleased with this light little machine. Printing, faxing and copying all in one. It's going to make our home office all the more efficient! Cons: Takes time to setup the first time Not as crisp as a professional high end photographic- specific printer Pros: Never ending ink reservoirs - buying & filling ink less Wireless can print from your PC or smartphone Light & small Can take all photo paper and sizes Prints very fast Can adjust print settings Great Home Office Printer

Great features - love the new ink system!

Setup Out of the box, the printer comes with everything that you need. I found the packaging materials to be sturdy and it arrived in great shape. I should mention that I received this printer for free to use for this review. The size of the printer is about the same as my outgoing HP printer, but it has more features like the document feeder, which is great. Everything went smoothly in the setup, with a couple of exceptions: - I was a little nervous pouring in my own ink. But it was no big deal and I look forward to not buying more cartridges! - Setting up on my PC, I hit cancel at one point when the software wanted to download a Canon product called “My Image Garden” – I didn’t want this software, but it messed up the setup and I had to reboot to make it work Setting up on my iPhone was awesome, I was printing 60 seconds after I installed the app. Print quality Print quality is awesome. The black text is the same as you would expect from any late model inkjet. The color is where it really shines. I went out and bought some 4x6 photo paper to try the photo print feature. I pulled up some pics on my iPhone, and sent them to the printer. They come out looking nearly as good as pictures you would order online. And since the ink is reasonable, printing at home is pretty economical. Scanning I had to scan a contract, so I loaded the five page document into the document feeder. The printer quickly scanned the document, wirelessly connected to my PC, and loaded the PDF in the Documents folder on my computer. It worked the first time and was hassle-free. Overall Very minor quibbles about the setup (also the screen is not backlit), but overall this is an awesome combo scan/print/fax/photo printer and I’m loving using this printer.

A One-Stop Shop!

I received the Canon Pixma as a free sample for providing my feedback and a review of the product. When I opened the box, I figured assembly would be fairly easy and I was right. It didn’t take much at all to put the printer together. As a matter of fact, when I told my son to take the printer out of the box for me and set it on my desk, he pretty much had it already set up before I could make it in my office. I really do enjoy the fact that the printer is multi-function, which is perfect for my business needs. And unlike any other printer I have had in my home office, the capacity this printer has to print documents is amazing. Actually, in my opinion, this is more similar to a commercial printer because it is able to print about 6,000 pages before more ink is needed, according to the box. I think my favorite feature of this printer is the ability to connect multiple appliances wirelessly. I have a desktop computer along with two laptops and tablets. I am able to print from all of these devices using my printer network. I also love the speed of printing. The printing is very quick and the clarity is great. Even printing photographs comes out great which means I no longer have to go to my normal stores to print out pictures because I can just pop the photo paper in and it comes out looking great. My expectations were definitely exceeded for this printer. Although it is bigger than most in-home printers, it produces quality work and I am able to see at all times how much ink I have remaining for the printer. Being able to refill the ink instead of buying cartridges over and over is a Godsend! I would definitely recommend this printer to small businesses and those with in-home offices, you will have your one-stop shop with this printer.

Long lasting ink.

I received this printer in exchange for my honest review. This printer was easy to setup. It took about 20 minutes from start to finish, including putting the 4 different bottles of ink in the containers. I love that you can easily see how much ink is left in your printer. The installation of the software was fairly easy also. The computer found the printer immediately on the network. I was able to print from my computer and my smartphone. I haven`t researched where and how much the ink will cost, but it is awesome that this ink will last a very long time. It seems like I have gone to the store too many times to buy ink. The scanner`s door actually shuts almost completely when copying workbooks, whereas my other printer would not, and would let too much light in. A few cons I have with this printer is: No.1 the screen on the printer doesn`t have a back light, so it is hard to see in a dark room. No.2 is the document feeder had a hard time getting the paper to go through to scan. All in all excellent printer, prints as the document is being scanned. Fairly fast printer for an ink jet printer.

Print without Fear!

I received this printer as a free sample in exchange for an honest review and I could not be more impressed. I typically use compact 3-in-1 printers and it was feeling like I was buying ink every few weeks. I love having the tanks that I am able to fill myself and although I expect this initial ink to last at least a year or more I went ahead and priced the refill bottles and they run cheaper than the ink I've been buying! This printer has great capability with a very compact design which is important to me because I live in an apartment with limited space. My husband was not available when I was setting the printer up and I thought I would struggle with the setup but it was actually pretty easy. The QR codes in the setup manual led to brief (approx 1 minute) videos that demonstrated exactly what I needed to do for each step in the setup and were VERY helpful. I got a little confused with connecting the printer to my wifi and my iPhone but my 10 year old daughter helped me with the initial setup or my phone and then after watching her, I was able to set up my husband's phone with ease. My husband and I are teachers and my family`s printer needs range from work related prints for our lessons and students, hobby/craft printing (such as photos for scrapbooks and printing pictures on transfer paper to make T-shirts), banners and signs for our teams, etc... WE USE A LOT OF COLOR! I can`t wait to see just how far these ink tanks will take us. It feels good to finally be able to freely print without fear of running out of ink in the middle of a project or print job.

Refillable ink is AMAZING!

By Kat K.

It is super easy to do, and there’s even a vide...

Best printer I 've owned!!!

By Beata

Canon Pixma G4200 is the best all in one printer I've owned. It was very easy to assemble. Took me about 20 min to have it up and running. The best part about it is that I can clearly see how much ink is left, and I don't need to dig in the middle of the printer to replace cartridges. The color containers is where we put color after you see you're running out. It's a big plus, cause I don't have much room in my office so the printer is on the shelf. With my old printers, everytime I wanted to...
