$20 off a $449.99 camera is NOT a sale. It would have been nice to save some more money on this camera especially around the holidays. It appears as though all the approved dealers follow the lead of Canon and do not offer any sales as well.

Nice little camera to take along as a backup when I fly and don't have a lot of extra room...

It takes a fine picture, but reviewing and downloading are difficult, and deleting unwanted shots is more than difficult, including sparse directions in the user's manual.

Great little backpack camera that provides wonderful photographs from close ups of wildflowers to mountain vistas. Great videos as well and transfers to my I-Pad are easy and quick. The only camera needed on long hikes where space and weight are at a premium. Take along an extra battery to keep going between stops.

Love the power it has for such a small camera. The compactness and retro-inspired look are terrific, and the leather like texture gives it a nice grip.

Great Camera. I purchased for a trip to Hawaii. I wanted a better camera than my iPhone X. It was worth the purchase. The 1 inch light sensor worked well in low light. The best feature was the ability to shoot in several picture taking modes. I used Auto, AV and Manual the most. This camera took excellent pictures and was fun to use. I recommend purchasing and using ahead of time to get back into a photographers frame of mind. I did this and had no problems. One setting was a little different. It is right next to Auto. Every picture taken in that mode is made into a vignette type slide show. I didn't expect this as the Canon You Tube camera instruction video said this mode gave the photographer the ability to let the camera decide wether it would be in portrait mode or landscape. I went with it on the first day and was "rewarded" with a "slide show". Anyway, the only thing I would hold against this camera and the reason for only four stars is because sometimes the touch screen was hard to see in bright sunlight.

Touch screen is not as convenient as the buttons & knobs on my previous Canon S110. Resolution is much improved. This replacement for my old camera seems like a mixed blessing.

Image quality at web size enlargement is excellent and it can do all kinds of neat tricks if you can figure out how. The size is perfect for a normal pocket or purse. It is quick to start up and the battery life is good. The display is good unless you are in bright sunlight and then it can be almost unusable. You can boost the screen brightness and it helps. If you are accustomed only to cell phone cameras you probably won't mind the lack of a viewfinder. My major complaint is that the user interface in general is fiddly and complicated. For example, there is way too much menu diving and many things are not intuitive to use. Scrolling through items with the zoom switch is difficult to do accurately, it goes too fast. The touchscreen icons are very small and you can't enlarge them. There is no "garbage can" icon or dedicated "trash" button to erase a photo. The button labels are hard to read. It simply isn't easy to take advantage of all the great features and it can be frustrating to try to make it do what you want, even in the least complicated AUTO mode. There are probably workarounds for some of my complaints, and it would probably be a lot easier if I used it every day and really got to know all the ins and outs, but I don't use it regularly and would prefer a much more intuitive interface.

Great for general purpose shooting and for studies with the idea of returning for higher quality images with better gear. Great image quality but if they could get a g7 lens in it or whatever fuji uses in the z100 it would be ideal

Great little camera. I rarely leave home without it in a small camera bag that attaches nicely to my belt. So light, I never feel the weight. Very good picture quality, but I do run all my photos through Photoshop Elements. Plus I also shoot JPEG + RAW, and process the RAW photos.

This is a nice camera but doesn't have a viewfinder. Being that I use Canon EOS cameras this was a bit difficult for me. So, I returned it and ordered a different camera.

I lost my G15 which was my "take-anywhere", "grab the unexpected shot" camera. After several days of shopping online I called Canon and then Adorama to make sure the G9X Mark II would meet my cost and performance needs. It does both well. Representatives at both arrived at the same conclusion - the G9X II is durable, compact, and is easy to operate.

After extensive research. I bought the Powershot G9X. I’m a beginner photographer and I wanted something light for my travels. I’ve had the camera for a week and I love just how small it is. The touchscreen is accurate and the quality of my shots are splendid. I’m still learning all the advance features but I’m very pleased with my purchase

For her birthday I wanted to replace her 10 year old Nikon. The camera had to be very small, light, but with the latest features. This Canon, with a sensor large for a compact, a touch screen, and good video, was perfect. She even loves the look of it.

I bought this camera to replace my cameras of old that are just too much weight. I was very pleased with the size and lightness of the PowerShot G9 X Mark II. Haven't used the WiFi feature yet but am glad I will have that ability.

Canon G9X II is a worthy successor to the S120. Images are excellent. The small package is pocketable, and it has excellent controls for those time you want control and the program modes are great too. Built in flash is more than adequate at short distances and for the price, outshines the other brands older models including Lumux and Sony.

Bought this camera for my wife and she loves it. It is very intuitive and takes great pictures. It integrates seamlessly with her iPhone through the Canon app so she can take great pictures and share them with friends and family. I did my research and I am very happy

Didn't purchase it for its optical zoom - have an SLR for that. The G9 X is light weight, small, and packed with useful features that are very easy to access. Easy to quickly pull out of a pocket or backpack.

This is the pocket camera built for night time, low light, or indoor evening photography. It's got a huge 1" image sensor that soaks up the light and the M setting has a 'bulb' setting that I don't believe any other pocket camera has. I love going out at night and I want a pocket camera that won't weigh me down. This thing is tiny but its always ready to catch those amazing moments that come up without warning. No other pocket camera has the image capture power for those types of shots. Check out the shots I uploaded and read about each one so you can see for yourself what this camera can do. Please note, that like all digital cameras, you need to hold the camera as still as you can and take lots of pictures because some shots are just not going to come out. Taking more pictures means you have a greater chance of getting super fine auto focused pictures.

My favorite camera
By just m.
I'm 73 and have been taking pictures since 1957, but I'm no longer interested in lugging around all the 35mm equipment, albums, projectors, and screens this format requires. Nor do I want to replace everything with DSLR equipment. After much trial and error, I settled on the Canon G9 X Mark II for the 5,000 pictures I take every year, and I am highly satisfied with the results. With an f2 lens, I don't need to use flash with normal indoor lighting. I use the Auto setting, and I maintain lens ...

Perfect choice for a true pocket digital camera
By Alluring A.
I'm headed to Chicago tomorrow for the auto show and feared I'd be using my iPhone 6 to take pictures. Today I stopped by the camera store to ask again about the new G9 X Mark II, and it had been delivered just moments beforehand. First shipment, first sale! I compared several camera models days ago and concluded that the G9 X was the only high-quality digital camera that stored comfortably in my jeans pocket. That was requirement #1. But picture quality had to justify the purchase as otherw...
