I've owned this printer for 4 years now, and am quite happy with it. I use it lightly, on 2-3 trips a year, and am constantly amazed that the ink never seems to dry up with such casual use. Print quality is good, and speed is remarkably fast.

I really like this printer. Don't understand any negative reviews. It's not for heavy duty work, but I've had it for a couple years now and I take it on the road/vacation when I still need to work. It's small enough to fit into a carryon backpack or briefcase. I use a cord to connect it to my computer so I don't have to worry about any wireless issues and it's never given me a problem.

I have had this about a year. Use it in my RV. When it prints, it's great. But started throwing a code two months ago. Talked with Tech support. They walked me through a reset, but said usually that code is very bad. It worked fine after the reset. Then the next time I went to print, it threw the code again. I could not get it to reset. CANNOT GET ANY TECHNICAL SUPPORT NOW. Will not buy Canon again.

Have only had the printer for a few weeks. Set up was easy enough (just slowly follow the instructions and be patient as setup takes a little time). It prints clearly and quickly and I love that it's wireless. The size is nice and it folds up to a good compact size. I have not used it anywhere except for home but so far so good!

Incredible hard to get it to connect wirelessly to my macbook, wish I hadn’t gotten this, but now I got it to print from my phone, it’s too much effort to return it so I’ll just keep it.

The size is good, compact and easily stored. The print quality is fine for our purposes but we aren’t printing high quality photos on it. The unfortunate part is the setup. It was/is a nightmare, we eventually had to order a printer cable(Not included) because the wireless setup wouldn’t connect to our home WiFi network, we even had an IT person from our office take a look and they couldn’t figure it out. If you connect directly to the printer from your computer it cuts off you internet access, which is inconvenient if you are trying to print something from the internet. Considering everything has Bluetooth ability I’m not sure why this printer doesn’t. If you don’t have an issue with the setup, I think it’s a decent printer.

This has been a nightmare to set up and as I write this the second warranty printer is still not functional. It started with the instructions as they are not clear to follow. The wireless connection setup refuses to connect.The printer head alignment button seems to be void of any ability to do its job. If the wireless lan setup does not work Canon recommends you connect via USB however this printer is not shipped with a usb. It took about 4 hours of technical support we finally got the second printer hooked up however it will not print or align its head. Stay away from this at all costs it is not an easy printer to set up.

This printer never stays connected to my computer. I'm pretty tech savvy and every time I go to use this printer I have to call customer service to set it up again. Every time I think I've figured it out, there's another issue. It does not work in the convenient way you would expect for a wireless portable printer. I'm fed up!

I bought this printer as it is compact and advertised as being functional for a mobile office. It is "wireless", but only in a location where one has their own router. It does not have bluetooth. One cannot connect to it directly. So, when one is not at home one needs a USB printer cable. However, a USB printer cable was not included with the printer. Instead of being a plug and play device, a CD Rom disc is sent with the computer for set up. My computer does not have a CD Rom port so I hunted online for drivers. Once I had the drivers loaded it took many attempts (more than several and a couple of hours of work to get my network to find the printer. The printer has the capacity to have a battery, but I had to purchase the battery separately. I have had the computer a couple of days, but have yet been unable to use it as my mobile office since I need to still go out and buy a USB cable and install the battery. I am currently looking to see if I can convert this printer into a bluetooth printer, but it is not looking good. I hear the previous version was bluetooth compatible. I have provided this rating before printing, which so I may give a follow up review.

I echo Steve10's review. This is a travel printer that needs to connect to different access points at numerous clients on a weekly basis. Having to go through the install process every time you switch is ludicrous. Just as he needs to, we print from a remote server so we cannot wirelessly connect directly to the printer because then we will not be connected to our server to send the print job through the redirected printer. Hardwiring directly to the clients' networks is not doable 90+% of the time with our small clients so that is another reason we cannot wirelessly connect directly to the printer. At least the iP100 has a USB port we were able to add a Bluetooth dongle to so we could print cable free. However, Canon thought it was smart to not add a Bluetooth connection to this printer, or give you the ability to add it yourself. I guess we will just hardwired the printer to the computers. Oh wait, we can't do that because they didn't put a cable in the box to be able to use that feature. And even after I have to buy that, when we have three people in the same location, the printer cannot always be put in a central location while being able to reach all three computers at the same time. The printer size and quality is obviously suited for people who travel, not people plan to stick it in one location and keep it on the same network. For Canon to not have the foresight of how this would likely need to be used is pretty embarrassing. People would rather have an option to use a device in multiple situations, so stop being cheap and cutting costs by omitting features. Raise the price the necessary amount to give people the options they need to have for the device to work in a reasonable manner.

I love my pixima. I had the previous model but it was not wifi and when I updated my Mac to Catalina Canon did not have a driver to support it. It was 8 years old. I don't use the wifi option on the printer as we are in an RV and just have minimal internet as we travel. We just need occasional printing and want to be able to plug in the printer and print. I hope they come out with a driver for the older pixima so we have a back up.

My wonderful husband heard me talking about being completely mobile for my business. So he purchased this printer. It’s exactly what I needed. Portable, carrying bag, wireless, backup car charger... Everything I needed. But it took a PC very savvy me, 2 days to get it up and running. This was an old school PRinter setup. from loading the software to registering online before everything g would work properly. Well most everything, I still do not have the app working, but I won’t quit. I finally have the printer working from my mobile device and my PC using WIFI. I have the printer cable for backup in the carrying case. Oh and the ink that was included didn’t last. I’m glad my hubby purchased a backup. I think this is a great product, but the set up is horrible!

I bought this to replace a similar Canon printer I had for over 10 years. I was happy to see that they did not make any drastic changes to an already great product. The printer is quiet, fast, and has good quality print. My only concern is that they cheapen the product by using thinner plastic components than past models. I would recommend this product.

For a mobile printer that will be used in multiple locations, you have to essentially reinstall the printer every time you change networks - and after multiple attempts even with Canon support on the phone, it is very difficult to get it to work. You can create a "direct" connection, but that requires you to drop off the larger network, thereby losing access to internal server based documents, internet etc. You need to somehow batch the documents you need to print, drop off the larger network, install the direct connection, complete your printing and then drop off to reconnect with the network again. This is an impossibly difficult design. The only functional solution is to use a physical cable, and as an owner of a Mac with only Lightning ports, finding a single cable (Lightning to USB Male Type B is also limited. I am very disappointed in the software with this printer - the hardware seems to fit the mobile printing niche, but the inability to connect easily is very problematic.

I do not know how much it will end up costing me to do prints but what I have printed looks beautiful!The prints match my files perfectly and I didn't have to calibrate anything so Idk if that is luck or? I have never had to set up a pro printer before so maybe it's always that way as long as your screen is calibrated. The prints are rich and smooth and I am very happy. Definitely recommend getting this printer when they are offering a rebate as I will be getting $ back from Canon! P.S. I used the semi gloss and matte Canon paper and both are great!

It turns itself off after a period of time I don’t use it on a daily basis but when I get Rady used it I have to turn it on and wait for to warm up.
