Have been through two machines and fax for not send it receive. The handshake never completes in either direction. The send sound works, the short start sound is identified then the final step, the actual exchange of data does not occur. First one was new, 2024 manufactured, second one was a 2023 model refurbished

I've always used Canon printers in my business. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST PRINTER I'VE EVER OWNED!! Constant problems with wifi connect, weird sounds, and above all NEVER ENDING PAPER JAMS!!! This thing is getting "Office Spaced" and NOT buying another Canon.

I bought this to replace my Canon imageCLASS MF4350d which I bought in 2009 and was happy with until the fuser started to die and leave streaks. Rather than replace the fuser I bought the MF455dw which has the advantage of wireless printing. I like the print quality and the scanning is better than the previous, but this thing runs through toner like a beast, even though I have toner saver on. After 1,300 pages it is telling me I am down to 10% toner. I print some graphics but not a lot, mostly text. I called Canon and the first rep told me the cartridge that ships with it doesn't print as many pages. I checked the sales page and it shows it ships with a cartridge that prints 3,100, as designed. I called again a few days later and that rep told me the printer counts double-sided pages as 1 page. If that's true, maybe that explains why it ran out so soon, but after getting bad info from the first rep I don't know if that's true. The other issue is the cost of replacement cartridges. My previous printer cost $70 for a new one. This one costs $140. That's 4.5 cents a page, if it actually lasts that long. That's half the price of a copy shop. I like the quality and reliability of Canon printers I've used, but if they're going to rip me off on toner (which is another reason I don't use ink printers), they have lost my future business.

Took a chance on this printer when it was on sale at BB. After an unreasonably challenging set up it works ok but the fax capabilities have been terrible. Faxing is inconsistent and unreliable for no apparent reason. I can live w issues if there was anything resembling support?the Canon support line is hooorrrriiibbbllle. Printing is straightforward but it is supposed to do more than just that. Overall = meh

Like the entire 450 series, this one is no different. Never seen a printer like this. Every time I go to print, I have to go walk across the room to touch the touch screen and wake it up. It doesn't matter setting the sleep times to two hours, if it sleeps a print job refuses to wake it up. Mac OS, PC, iOS devices. Same on all of them. Printer keeps wanting me to select the tray and paper type. The current software shows a tray 1 and a tray 2. There is only ONE tray on this. There is a manual feed above it that you have to open up to feed. The printer is actually seeing itself and having two auto trays. I know there's a model that has this, so it seems to me they have the wrong firmware in this. I have to go and tell it what tray and paper type to print, right along with waking it up, every time I print if it's gone to sleep. INSANE. I've tried all the things I can find online to fix the ridiculous sleep thing. There is nothing that solves it, not setting Static IP, not reinstalling the software, not resetting the entire printer. The whole FOUR SCREENS of menus is completely ridiculous. Talk about overkill complication. I have a TR8600 Canon inkjet sitting right next to this, and it has none of these issues, it does what I tell it to when I tell it to. We have two Canon D570 laster printers in the family, and they have NONE of these issues. What's with the archaic flip-phone texting-type menu for entering your Wifi info too? Wow. Please hire some people who know how to create a menu. Really, this kind of menu for setting up your Wifi is literally from the late 90's!! Again, do not buy this. The one I have has 200 pages on it, hardly anything for a supposed small-office class printer. I'm gonna try to get rid of it really cheap or give it away to someone who doesn't care if they have to get up and cross the room to start a print job, or have it right next to them where it doesn't matter. The printer is completely unacceptable trash to even sell to the public.

I have been using Canon printers for well over 2 decades. Up until this one I had no complaints. The problem with this printer is the new software which only allows me to scan from the printer instead of the dashboard like the previous versions. There is also less flexibility working that way with entitling the scans and setting the specs for the scan.

I purchased this printer less than 6-months ago. For some reason, the scans from the manual feed come out crooked. I've aligned the paper in the feeder correctly, but the scan outputs are crooked.

I recently placed a mediocre review that I'd to upgrade. I contacted Canon support about a paper jam that wouldn't clear. Turns out I was using a Microsoft driver instead of the Canon driver. Not only did this correct the jam problem but it corrected the glitches I reported earlier in my review. So ignore my earlier review. The only reason I chose 4 out of 5 is that Canon doesn't prioritize the multi-function tray over the bottom tray. I "fixed" the problem by leaving the bottom tray open unless I'm using it. A workaround but it shouldn't be necessary.

This printer is an all-in-one great alternative to an inkjet. We struggled for 2 years with clogging jets due to infrequent use before the old printer became unusable. The cost for cartridges kept getting more and more expensive yet more and more of the ink was being wasted doing printer head cleaning, etc. As an alternative, toner will ast almost forever in a dry environment so even if it is a week or so between a print job, I know it will work every time. The initial setup wasn't bad, just a little glitch that wasn't well explained in the startup guide but a Google search provided the answer in no time. For the price and the Canon name and reputation, I feel it's a good investment. We do scan and copy so this machine will basically do whatever I want for the foreseeable future. As long as color isn't important to you, the print jobs come out very fast and extremely clear.

Do not pay attention to the bad reviews. I had before a Work Force ink printer, every two months even without any use I had to buy ink, it was terrible. I saw this Canon printer on sale at BB and decided to give it a try. After unpacking the printer, I went straight to Canon website and installed the two recommended downloads, I didn't read the setup manual or even opened. It was a very easy and fast installation and instantly recognized on my PC. The printer and scanner functions are very fast with quality results, and the document feeder works awesome. I tested My PDF (Kofax) scanning a document, and I was impressed how perfect the document was converted to editable text. I was not able to achieve that before with my Work Force. I'm very happy with this purchase. Thanks Canon.

The printer was working fine before the mac Venture 13 update. After update, the driver doesn't work, I have tried reinstalling the driver again but no luck. I can't scan or print any documents making this printer useless. It has been 6 months since the update, but canon has not updated the driver.

I have sold a number of these to my clients. They are easy to use and configure/setup. Printer performance is excellent and all my clients LOVE them. That makes selling more of them an easy task. So far I have never had to contact customer service as it performs as stated and works great.

This printer is amazing. It was so easy to set up. Right out the box I used it to print multiple pages at once from my phone. It worked very well and printed it flawlessly. It didn?t take a long time it was almost instant. I was so amazed by how fast it printed pages. I?ve also tried the scanner and copy and those work equally amazing. I would recommend.

I have spent more than 20 hours trying to get this scanner to work. It keeps saying driver mismatch. Eventvwr says driver has not been upgraded after OS upgrade to Windows 10. The OS was never upgraded. I bought a Windows 10 and then added the device. I tried uninstalling it -- but it says the device is in use...cannot find any software using it. I removed the device, restarted the computer, and reinstalled everything -- but the junk still does not work despite several attempts. So disappointed.

Setup was super easy and is so much faster than my ink printer. I don't have much experience with laser printers to compare to but this prints so much faster than my old printer. easily connects to my airplay for mobile printing and wifi setup was easy. As someone who hasn't had a new printer in a long time, this was quite impressive.

The set up for this printer was very easy to do. I love that I can use my phone also to print papers. The quality of print is very nice and love that the tray holds lots of paper. I would recommend this printer for home use.

So first off this thing is huge and heavy. It is an all in one so I guess that would make sense, but one thing you should know is that this printer ONLY PRINTS IN BLACK AND WHITE. I'm a little upset that nowhere on the box does it obviously say black and white only. It just says the cartridge type. I had to do a ton of research to figure that out. It does print a lot of pages fast which is nice, but I need one that prints color too. I give 3 stars because I feel like they should put somewhere that it is black and white only.

This printer is a beast, the expected commercial printer size with a great 900 paper capacity. It looks very nice and professional, and prints well and quickly after it gets going, I do find the start-up a bit slow. The screen is great, the options and tools are very user-friendly. Setting up the printer took probably 30 minutes including unboxing, as it walked me through the network/wifi setup. This printer has everything you need, except color printing, which is fine for my purposes, including copy, fax and scanning. My husband and I both could get it printing from our phones within minutes after set up. I think we will be very happy with this printer for a long time.

This mono laser all in one is a great piece of kit. It has expandable paper capacity. I love the touch screen and it prints very fast. The touch screen has some shortcut keys that are very helpful. I would recommend this to anyone needing a good printer for a fantastic price.

It was a great and easy set up on my phone to control the printer. It seems to be very user friendly. It holds a lot of paper in the paper tray so that means less time running out in the middle of a print job.

I've used the MF455DW for a few weeks and really love it. Print quality is excellent and it's quite fast. This printer does it all. Full duplex scanning and printing with both flat bed scanning and document feeder. It supports scan to photo or document and optional OCR conversion. You can scan directly to your PC or to an email address. Wireless printing has worked flawlessly from my 2 PCs and iphone. I've yet to try the kids' chrome books. All devices instantly find the printer for easy setup (though hint, you need to wake the printer before setting it up on a new device). I would definitely recommend this printer to anyone wanting a multifunction printer/scanner.

This printer/scanner/fax machine/copier is excellent. It's not the fastest machine, but it's fast enough for at home use, and the quality is excellent. The only thing this is missing is color printing.

I got this for my small office and I'm so glad I did! It is perfect for our office. It is smaller in size but does everything and more that larger printer/copier/scanners do. It even has a fax machine built in! It's very easy to use and prints pretty quickly. I love the wireless printing capability as well, allows us to print right from our phones! I also love the touch screen to choose your options and print. This has replaced the large bulky printer in our small office and the fax machine! The ink is also very affordable. Highly recommended!

I have never owned a laser printer at home but this is certainly a great option for home as well as business use. It was SUPER easy to set up. I have owned two other multi-function units that supposedly had mobile print capability but I could never figure out how to make it work. This printer made it super easy to set-up using a QR code and I was printing from my phone within minutes. The design of the unit is great. The footprint is a little large comparative to an inkjet but still fit well within my office. I also am looking forward to the lower cost per page comparative to my current inkjet.
