Worst printer in the WORLD. Every single time it is used, a new error occurs. Scan feature only scans to legal size paper. Instructions are non-user friendly. Every time support is called it takes over one hour to receive help, the product works correctly one time and after that, it is screwed up again. Wish I never bought this piece of equipment.

It scans everything to PDF which is what we want when it is connected to our mac. Just works great. Wi-fi is excellent, nothing to complain about. Prints everything and a great quality too. We also use good paper quality - and I think we have never had a jam either. But, honestly who prints anymore - when we print it is super reliable anyway. I don't need a fax machine or fax features when this works just as well. I am the PDF autoscan feature is great!

Perhaps one of the most convoluted pieces of equipment I ever purchased.

I bought this printer from a while back. It was advertised and I was told it was a "All in One" Printer". I specifically asked if it was a FAX. I was told yes. It is not a FAX. It does everything else. Print/Scan/Copy. I should have taken it back. The printer itself seems to work when it wants to. Sometimes turning the printer off and on helps. The Ink Toner is very expensive. It doesn't hold very much paper. I wanted a "All in One" printer. To me a "All in One" has a FAX.

This is printer takes a while to decide to print... if it decides to at all. I spent 2 hours on the phone with cannon only to have my printer in worse condition. I constantly have to restart the printer to get my computer to recognize it. DON'T BUY! Not worth the headache!!!!

I've been struggling with this printer for over about a year. Really hard to set up, and still can't get scanning to work. I've installed and uninstalled the drivers so many times. Just too hard to get to work properly

I bought this close to a year ago and it's working pretty well. The manual and online support for it isn't great, but I did learn a few things. If you have to register the paper each time, it's because the current paper setting you have on your printer, doesn't match what you have in your printer settings on your computer. Make sure it matches and the printer won't alert or ask you to register your paper. The one thing I could never figure out was the middle drawer for paper. It kept saying paper jam when there wasn't any. Oh well. I night it for a steal so I just avoid that drawer.

I have had this printer for over a year and I am very pleased with the quality and the price. The only bummer is the ink/toner that is in the printer when you first buy it is just a starter, so it runs out quickly. So I do recommend that you have toner on hand. I am a graphic designer and have printed 3 different wedding invitation sets on this and couldn't be happier. : Thank you.

I bought this so that I could print a lot and I liked the idea of toner so that when I did need to print, didn't have to worry about clogged ink jets. That's probably the only good feature. It's huge, doesn't hold a ream of paper, I can't get the manual feed to work and sounds like you have to choose the paper type each time. I wanted a separate paper feed so I could print my shipping labels without having to pull the drawer out each time. Guess I didn't do enough research!! Hate this beast.

I bought this to replace Canon all in one t due to the ink jet head failure that occurred on the second set of cartridges. I do not use it that often and wanted to go with a laser to solve that problem that afflicts ALL inkjets. I have had this unit for some time and only recently did I need fax capability. Faxing shows up in the menus, but it does not work. There is a plug covering the phone port and when I removed it I see no modem hardware. A call to Canon support confirmed that the next model does this, and there is no optional hardware to install to enable the capability on this one. I am disappointed on all counts.

I have had nothing but issues... I cant seem to properly print the correct size.... I use Linux and the driver is outdated.... there is no option to make your page borderless... I am just extremely disappointed in this printer. I expected more from Canon....I should have went with the Brother Printer..

I recently purchased this laser printer to replace an Epson inkjet that was on it's last leg. Set up was simple, WIFI connection was easy to establish - easiest printer set-up I've ever had. I did have to call support to help me figure out how to set up scanning option, but after a short call and simple direction, it's a snap. The copies and prints are beautiful and over-all, at this time, I am very happy with this purchase for my small business; this machine is great! I will say though, that the instructions / manual could definitely use a re-write, it's not as clear as it could be, and for folks who might not be technically inclined, it isn't much help. Should be re-written for regular folks with more clear and concise direction written in every day language.

I see some of the comments but fortunately WiFi works fine, the print quality is great. Its been 1 year now and so far so good. I don't use it for office purposes. I don't believe is meant for that. I don't like it doesn't has double side print option (duplex) or I haven't find how to do it

I bought this printer because of its wifi features and the wifi simply doesn't work. First time ever I had such a problem. I followed everything on the video and it simply doesn't work. If you're looking for a user friendly printer avoid that one at all cost.

I purchased this printer over a year ago. Cannon has replaced it 3 times. The latest printer sent to us makes noises randomly, has issues connecting to wifi, and always has to have errors cleared off the screen prior to use. I love the brand, but I would recommend looking into a different printer model.

Jams constantly even with perfect, pristine paper. Won't print on anything but regular paper. Can't handle envelopes or anything else. Holds a pitifully small amount of paper.

I bought this printer to replace my hp 8600 ink jet of 5 years. Should have done more research! The printer cartridges for this yield around 1400 pages and cost as much as the printer. Hp xl cartridges yield 2300 and cost 1/4 of the price for canon laser printer. The paper drawer only holds maybe 60 pages. Jams ALL the time. A huge piece of equipment with very few features. I thought canon was one of the leaders for printers and that laser jet printers were supposed to surpass inkjet in volume and quality? Regretting the lack of research on my part, and hope that those who read this review will find it helpful in finding an efficient, quality printer at a reasonable price - THIS IS NOT IT.

I was looking to replace a HP Photosmart Printer and thought this one to be a good choice. I don't print on allot of photo paper so I fugured this would be find even though it doesnt have a card reader slot. I am looking for more of a printer that will print out basic stuff off the web. This printer does have very little features. It's simple to just print and leave alone if you are looking for that. If you are looking to print both sides on paper this one WONT do it unless you print even on first go around then print odd pages. This was a HUGE killer for me. I love double sided printing. The Paper capacity is very poor! It will hold like 70 pages max! Not good for something this size. The printer does print out fairly quickly. It scans well. Options for the output format are good. It is really good at color and B&W Copying. This will do for now until I find another printer.

Like some of the others, I didn't review the features very carefully before I bought this printer. First, the printer is the same size and weight as my other Canon printer (MF8500, yet it has few of the features. It has no duplexing, which is very weird given that laser printers generally have that feature. It's a huge pain to print on both sides by printing odd pages first then even pages. Terrible. Second, it has a tiny paper supply drawer. You can check, but I think it holds about 60 sheets of paper. What???? Were it not so expensive to send back, I would have. And now I regret doing so. Will probably get rid of it when the starter cartridges run out. After all, Canon toner cartridges are about as expensive as the printer itself, which is ridiculous.

The printer is very large even for a multi function printer. If you print infrequently like I do, maybe once every 15 to 30 minutes you will find that the first page out speed is very slow. If you print multiple small documents in succession you will find that it takes a very long time to process each job instead of just spitting them all out in rapid fire. So if I tell it to print this 1 page document, then this 2 page document and another different 1 page document it will print the first one in maybe 20 to 30 seconds, then think a while before printing the 2 page document, then think a while before printing the last 1 page document even though I sent them all to the printer one right after the other. The starter cartridges that come with the printer are hard coded with a chip to stop after XX prints whether or not the toner is actually empty. To make matters worse, if your toner runs out the scanner will no longer function. Why can't I scan a document to my PC without toner? Who knows... The prints are very nice and crisp. The scanner (when I have toner) scans to my PC very quickly and smoothly and fairly quietly. This machine does not do duplex printing which is odd. It also does not do duplex scanning. Installation was super easy on my Windows 10 machine. My connection is via our LAN network. I expected it to be a bit difficult to install but it took no effort at all. If you don't mind slow prints and if you are super diligent about never running out of toner it's a decent printer. If I had it to do over again I would have found a more forgiving model with faster printing.

It isn't perfect, but it is the best printer I've ever owned for my home office. The scans were slightly crooked and it makes a some noise when printing and it does take a few seconds before the first page pops out and I was unable to have it email me the docs because it wouldn't take a port # for my SMTP server, but other than that, I have no complaint. Very cost effective. WAY better than inkjets. If you print occasionally, inkjets will clog and use a lot of ink. So this is great whether you print occasionally or frequently. My wife asked me "why didn't you buy this printer 20 years ago?" Great print quality. Would have liked a way to set the scan brightness/darkness. when scanning black and white.

i figured the "all in 1" printer would have a fax option, but it seems all of the many fools who've purchased this printer have been disappointed by the fact that there really isnt one. i mean come on the printer asides that is just perfect, its fast, easy to set up and has alot of features but just not the one i needed. Just wondering btw, if it dosen't have a fax option why is it so big ? .... just straching my noggin a little
disappointed d.
