Constantly having problems connecting to wifi. it is not user friendly at all.

Bought many years ago.
Pros - prints great. Save $ on ink. 
Cons - have to scan into thumb drive - won?t scan into computer. Tried everything from resets to upgrading firmware and software to calling tech support -  but nope. Copy stopped working after 18 months. I have to scan on the thumb drive, copy into pc, then print. Auto feeder also stopped working after a year - but skewed scans so bad i couldn?t use anyway.  I don?t do much scan or copy so haven?t thrown it out yet. Scan options are not good. Cannot get a color pdf just a color jpeg. Never tried pics. But now I need to scan pics - and only can select 8.5x11 from printer directly cause cannot scan onto pc to change any scan setting - if there are any..,. Should have bought the xerox that my niece advised - live and learn. My 15 year old HP cheap ink jet auto-feed never broke.  Wouldn?t take a chance getting new Canon multifunction. But it prints good....

Ongoing issues

we got the printer about 3 years ago. my wife has a small business at home, a son at home in college, and I use it often. This machine has been by far the best machine we
have ever had at home by far! I had color laser printers at work that were 10 times the price that didn't work as well. Bonus the print from a smartphone ( Canon Print Business 
software works great.

mf726cdw Great Machine

My MF726Cdw lost the ability to scan to my computer and I don't know why.  I have done everything under the sun to rectify the issue and nothing has worked.  I went as far as a factory reset of my operating system on my computer, and that still fix the problem.  I even downloaded the Canon Business mobile app onto my phone, trying to scan from my mobile device.  IT STILL DIDN"T WORK.  The printer sucks and I'm replacing it with a Brother.

Excellent Printer and fast response

I bought this printer nearly 4 years ago for home use.  It is a very heavy printer and needs a very strong table under it.  I've used only the OEM Canon toner.  Admittedly in the time I've had it I've only printed about 5,000 pages, both color and b&w.  It has functioned as advertised.

Ever since I bought this printer I had been having problems printing! Sometimes the computer can't see the printer, the printer goes off line. It is horrible.

Horrible Product

Doesn't scan to desk top... though with patches I now kind of got it workng. But I need to control it from both the printer and the desktop. 
Cartridges malfunction. 
Colour printing is really bad.  
Am going to get a monochrome laser printer and a photo colour printer to replace. Will go for something other than Canon next time.

Great printer

Over glorified wireless printer.  Scanner remains incompatible with desktop despite every download, app, setting I can find to try.  Customer Service is never open when I am home with this thing.  Seriously let me down.  I used to love canon printers, I'm done . . .

Won't Scan to Desktop

Love it so far.  Bought it on the recommendation of a friend who has the same setup.  Was tired of fighting 2 ink jet printers that never worked well.. I pitched them both in the trash.

Tired of messing with ink jet printers

I bought the MF726cdw about 1 1/2 years after much thought, and comparison. I went to Staples to buy it. I thought I would eventually use it when I start a business. I probably printed 150 pages total in that time. I take very good care of it, now there is no power. I checked the outlets, and connections.... nothing. I will never buy another Canon product this is my first, and last..... very disappointed

Horrible product

There are a lot of anomalous negative reviews here that makes it seem Canon accidentally shipped some defective machines, but mine has been great from day one. Sometimes, it can inadvertently lose the Wifi connection, but it's easily solved by reconnecting manually.

It's also relatively conservative on toner usage, which helps upkeep costs.

This printer is a standalone on Wifi and works wonderfully for all our needs.

There are three improvements:

(1   Manufacture an exact replica of this machine that scans and prints up to 11" x 17," which I would buy instantly.

(2)   Allow the user to enlarge scans. It allows the enlarge function on Print and Copy, but small documents getting scanned should be able to get enlarged without having to print an enlarged Copy first.

(3)   For the full version of the manual have a big PDF to download instead of the HTML version. The Getting Started PDF is beneficial, but all my manuals are stored in OneNote, so there should be a PDF manual with bookmarks for the different sections.

Works great for my home office, with notes

I was able to pick it up at a big discount. With all the functions it has I was able to replace two older printers with this one and the toner seems to be cheaper too. It was easy to setup, the wireless is nice, the only knock is the size. It is a big unit but takes less space for me because it replaced two other units.

Very nice machine with lots of features

Only printed several pages so far but it is more quiet than the inkjet printer I had before.  This printer will pay for itself in a couple of years instead of buying ink every time I need to print.

The directions were sparse, but it tell you repeatedly not to connect to your computer before installing.  Works great so far.

Love the printer, love the scanning, love the ease of setup. I don't like how fricking huge and heavy the thing is. That is the 1 star that is missing. Would be nice if the paper tray was bigger as well, but prints quick, and prints nice. Great quality.

The printer is as expected and was a great deal!

So far so good connected wirelessly very easily and works great 

It prints faster than my old printer AND it has color now!! No issues with it so far but the size of the thing surprised me a little. It's bigger than my little printer table so I ended leaving on my computer desk.

Very good printer for the price

This thing is a piece of junk. The WIFI doesn't connect, and when it does, there is always an error when I try to print. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling many times, and I still get the same error. I have a Brother printer/fax/scanner and it has never given me any issues.I'm literate when it comes to electronics (computers, cell phones, tvs), but this piece of junk doesn't want to print.

Wow! Great printer under $

Junk, UtterlyJunk I have had nothing but problems. Just when you think you got it working it will create a new problem that you can not fix. Also it forces you to change the toner before it has run out. I am an expert at getting every last bit of toner out of a cartridge but not with this, you simply can't go on. It is close to taking a trip off the 3rd floor out a window....

Think Office Space Printer

I had read many of the other reviews and felt compelled to write one of my own.  To be clear,  I did not purchase this for office use,  I use it at home for work and personal needs.  That said, I do demand this machine to work when I need it and have little patience for issues especially at this price point.  

I have not experienced the slowness or scanning issues experienced by others.  Maybe I'm just lucky or less demanding than an office full of people sharing this printer,  but it has far exceeded my expectations.  I bought this after being sick and tired of inkjet printers.  While this is admittedly way more printer than I need,  I would definitely recommend other home office professions to look into it.  I have not experienced the issues in other reviews, knock on wood.

It's an absolute beast,  barely fit into my mid-sized Audi and weights nearly 95 pounds.  IT / Office pro's probably know this but I did not expect the overpack and box to be so much larger than the printer itself,  just keep this in mind.  It's packaged extremely well,  but the box is huge.

Excellent machine for my home-office needs

My household loves the printer.  It's quick and easy to setup/ attach to my home wireless network.  Desktops/laptops/tablets and phones can easily print to the printer.  Android devices require a Canon app to be installed, however, Apple devices can print without installing anything.  Envelopes/labels and any other type of print media are a breeze because of the dedicated tray.

The only thing we don't like is the increased cost of replenishing the ink/toner.

Replaced HP Color InkJet printer with Canon Color Laser Printer

Attempted to turn it on and it just kept cycling on and off.  Contacted Canon and I had a replacement the next day.  No cost to me for shipping the faulty unit to them.  It's a refurbished unit.  The plus side of a refurb is whatever is going to fail on the unit already has and it's been repaired.  Refurbished unit indistinguishable from a new one.  Been using the heck out of it and after doing the auto color toner align and to force it to use only tray 1, it's working well.

Great Canon Support

This printer does it all, and best of all, NO INKJET CARTRIDGES to dry  up1 At this price, no other color laser MFC can touch this one. Besides all of the normal MFC functions, this one does automatic duplex scanning of faxing and printing and don't forget wireless printing, -including NFC printing.

Terrific Multi function machine

I bought this machine about a month ago and love it!!!  Setting up the wireless print drivers on my computers was easy.  Prints come out crisp and professional looking.  This machine is rich in features that professional printers include.  The scans come out clean and save easily on my usb. For those who do high volume printing, you might want to consider purchasing a larger tray.  The machine is heavy, so make sure you have a strong base to rest it on.  Hope this helps.
