I bought it two years ago and it was doing fine until the last two months or so. Now it fails to print the first letter on most text lines, both in plain and high-quality printing modes. This happens even when I set margins that are more generous than those in standard text printing. I changed ink cartridges even though the ones I replaced were not entirely depleted, but this made no difference. Online troubleshooting sites have not helped either: there are users with the same or similar issues, yet no recourse.

Short life expectancy

Set up confusing and difficult.  Required multiple calls to tech support.  Ink cartridges ridiculously expensive.  Ink is wasted at each start-up and shut-down.  Very noisy.  Usually requires turning off and on a second time to get the printer to be recognized by computer.  Only saving grace is available telephone tech support.  Five ink cartridges cost more than a new printer which includes the five cartridges.  How is that possible!? I am ordering a replacement printer just to get the ink and will then sell or donate the printer.

I spent two hours trying to set up the Wi-Fi with no success. I loaded the ink cartridges and they leaked all over the place,it now has a new home in my dumpster! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!

The MG5722 is incredibly noisy. It is just about unbearable to use, and even if you could stand the noise, it would be impossible to use it if anyone else in the house is trying to sleep. It does have a Quiet mode (gee, I wonder why they felt that was necessary) which reduces the noise when printing, but has no effect on the noise during the very long power up and power down operation. I am really sorry I bought this. If my old all in one hadn't died just at the point when I have to print a lot of things, I would return this one immediately. It's hard to imagine why any company would think this was an acceptable product.
