Previously owned a HP all-in-one and loved it, except for the photo print quality. The canon has better photo print, but not as user friendly for the fax section. When I want to fax I have to connect up the phone line and disconnect afterwards otherwise the fax ties up my phone line (I do not have a dedicated fax line). The HP could be switched on or off on the front of the printer - much more user friendly. Fortunately I don't fax that much, but do print a lot. It's copy and print quality is great, and fast enough for my requirements. Ink is cheaper than the HP but not sure how they compare with the Canon over length of use. I'm using this printer much more than I used the HP. It's also a nice looking machine.

I initially had trouble figuring it out (I'm a male, and thus tend not to read directions thoroughly,. thinking I can figure it out on my own).[...] I'm happy with the product: for the price, IMHO, it can't be beat/

This printer is very easy to use and even easier to setup. I've been using it for over a month and so far no problems. I like the compact design and software. I highly recommended.

In this price range, you make a choice between full document-handling features and network connectivity. This machine gives you just about all the document-handling features you can ask for. We only had it for about three weeks, however, before it jammed in the middle of a duplex print job, and we could not clear the jam, even with the patient help of a Canon rep on the phone. Canon is sending us a replacement at no charge. Most duplex printers allow you to open panels to access the entire paper path, but this one does not. Three stars for the features, as well as excellent scan and print quality. We just hope the jam was an isolated incident.

A great value for the cost. A few years ago you would have paid a lot more for four different items. Now you can clean your desk and do everything with the Canon Printer. Everyday use and light photo printing are a snap for this printer. So...for the cost, it is a great deal.

So far so good. If you need to scan with it, it's best to seek out the more updated versions of software from the Canon site. I encountered an annoying "delay" error with the software straight off the CD-ROM. Once I got past that it seems good.

Great work horse. Looks bigger than it is, it just sits taller than my old HP, no height restrictions where it is so no problem for me. The only small flaw that I can find is that it does not hold a lot of paper. I do tons of printing, though so it is just an inconvenience for me.

Wasn't pleased with the print being shifted a little bit with the first one.Didn't like the idea that they don't replace a new one except with a refurbished one.[...]I have my 2nd reburbished one and I hope I will not have any more problems.Won't buy Canon again.By the way the print is still shifted but I will deal with it.

I use this printer mostly for documents, some graphics. The installation software was buggy for OS X, and when I finally got it to load, it erased all of my other installed printer drivers. Printer itself is fast and reliable when it works. It came with a couple of broken plastic parts that I have to jam and twist and rig into place each time I want the thing to work. Haven't tried the scan or fax features.

Will use this for everything from photo printing, scanning, and copying. All in one tool. [...]

Good document, graphics and photo quality. The only thing I should warn potential users about is that the included software to print photos does not allow you to adjust printer parameters, so the prints with it use excessive ink and colors come out very dark. I would recommend using another software to setup and print your photos, so you can control color fidelity better.
