Now here's the thing - if you read recent reviews 2020 through 2021, sounds like this is a junk printer. But I bought mine about seven years ago and it still works fine! Could it be that Canon changed Contract Equipment Manufacturers over the years that this model was in production? Would have given it 5 stars, except I could never get the wifi to maintgain connection, had to go into set-up every time I used it. Finally gave up and purchased a 7 foot USB cable and glad I did. Printer works every time I need it to. Now the latest innovation is the printers with large ink capacity. That is what I'll get if I ever have to replace this one.

As others have mentioned, this printer is garbage! I wish i had of did an extensive research on this before I purchased. I bought less than2 yrs ago, barely used it after 6mo's started going down hill, thought oh just ink cartridge, we replaced it and nothing! The printer doesn't work. I have given up on troubleshooting....just thoroughly disappointed in the product.

I had this printer a few years. Yesterday bought new ink after not using for about 1 yr. Worked fine until it just stopped. So I replaced the 226bk since it showed low and that didn't come in 4pack I bought apparently smh (Canon brand. After replacing this message came on. I cleaned print ahead and nothing. Can't do anything. Buying a print head is more expensive than getting a new printer now. Feeling frustrated.

Get a bat to bust over it because this is the only personal satisfaction you'll be receiving from it if you purchase this printer.

Printer worked well for a few years. Liked that it had printer/scanner/copier AND fax. (not all "all-in-ones" include fax. Took a long time to start printing, but once it got going it was ok. Then it happened... the dreaded "incorrect print head" error, aka U052. Tried everything I read online - cleaning, restarting, etc... Nothing worked. The ENTIRE machine is now broken. I cannot print, scan, copy or fax. Total garbage. DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER.

Takes about ten minutes to boot to print one page of paper. Nightmare

Printer just stopped working after a cartridge change - apparently this happens to a lot of people. Read more reviews than I read before I bought this. Did deep cleanings and re-alignments to no avail. Only replaced ink sets about 5 times during ownership - not a lot of printing.

I purchased this printer 2 years ago expecting a good life. It fails to power up. I purchased a replacement power supply, plugged it in and it also fails. Very sad quality and support.

NO SUPPORT for MX892. I only bought Canon cameras and got excellent support. Well I am through with Canon and so should you!!!!!!!! I will take it all back if someone will call or email me with support other than what is online and on this poor website. tried all the hitting ok 5 times on and off etc etc etc. Now with power cord plugged in start light will not go on! so tried it in "dark" . just need a human to talk to!

This printer is so easy to use. I can easily scan, air print, print anything at any time. It is so reliable. I love it.

I bought this printer over a year ago for home use. Here are the reasons I do not recommend it (from the least to the most important: 1. Large footprint. Takes up a lot of desk space. 2. Ink cartridges are expensive and do not hold much ink. 3. Paper output is fairly fast once it starts printing, but it takes a long time for the first page to come out. It makes a lot of whirring and clicking sounds for well over a minute before it actually begins printing - a very long startup process. 4. Recently started showing the "B200" error every time it would finish the startup sequence. Went online to find out how to correct it - nothing I tried worked. Online consensus is when you get this error and you can't fix it, it is time to get a new printer. Surprised that printer had failed already even though it had not been used much.

I bought my PIXMA in 2009. It continues to work reliably for me to this day. It has worked seamlessly with all my family's Mac, Windows, iOS, and even Linux (Raspberry Pi) devices out of the box and wirelessly without loading any extra software. Monthly, I use it for printing envelopes and occasionally duplicating invoices. Mostly, it is printing homework assignments. Occasionally, it's printing off artwork for a paper craft hobby. So varying paper sizes, paper types, print quality, and volume all handled well. Being that it was purchased nearly a decade ago, fax support was also key to my purchase decision. I think I have the modem speed tuned to 19.2 Kbaud for reliable connections over VOIP telephone line. Infrequently needed, but nice to have. The surprising key use I have for it? Scanning. I need to scan receipts all the time. Again, handled beautifully out of the box by the built in scanning support in macOS. No bloatware needed to be installed. I recognize others experiences may not have been as good as mine (as I have never had an error), and I might wish for the same functionality but with a front loading tray for envelopes and other non-letter paper sizes. But this printer has been solid for me, and I recommend it.

I've only recently learned that many have experienced an error code or short life span issue with this printer, I only recently learned about it because in the 6 years I've had it, IT'S ALWAYS FUNCTIONED BEAUTIFULLY!. I am a loyal Canon customer, every camera, printer, portable printer is Canon. Why? Because photography is my greatest passion and I am extremely picky when it comes to photo quality so I will only buy Canon. So, i'm sorry for all those who have had issues but i'm here to say that I've been buying Canon products for OVER 10 YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A SINGLE ISSUE WITH ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. Their cameras and printers are incredible, I print professional looking photos at home, the images are clear, crisp, vivid and exceptional, always. So, if you're deciding what kind of printer to get I wouldn't hesitate I recommend Canon. For the at home user, i can only of course speak for this particular printer because it's honestly been so long I don't remember what i had previously. I own this MX892 aand a Selphy 720 I believe (it's old but get this, the exact same resolution as the new Selphy) both these printers have never let me down. They are incredibly well built and built to last, I've moved with this printer 6 times, it's endured thousands and thousands of prints and I mean I print a lot!. It's not the fastest printer, takes a bit to initially start up but after it remains consistently fantastic. It's quiet, is very simple to connect wirelessly and incredibly easy to operate. Both printers have insanely crisp quality down to the most intricate details, never fade and I don't find they suck ink. Yes the ink is pricey, for this roughly 60 bucks but I get so many prints out of one set of cartridges. Ive never experienced jams, overheating, clogging, errors, disconnection issues, nothing, never once. Please don't let any negative press deter you from Canon, I've both used their products for professional and personal photography and I simply won't ever choose another brand.

Bought it 1-2 yrs. ago but with light usage... should of last longer. Just about done with 25 pgs tax return, black ink got low...... but before replaced, MX got dark, lights out. Died quietly in middle of printing. Read forum, tried what advised, changed ink, but can't poke to the inside as suggested. No more Canon for me. Expensive lesson learned

I've had it a while and it costs a fortune to buy ink and is confusing. Wouldn't buy it for home use again.

I have had this printer for several years now and still love it. Although the ink is expensive, it has worked beautifully with no problems, and I have pushed it hard at times. It seems to be very well made and is built to last. I do try to keep a dust cover on it or vacuum it from time to time. I would highly recommend Canon printers based upon my experience with the MX892!

I used to love this printer until I started getting the U051/U052 error. I never could get the printer to work after trying all the different troubleshooting steps.

B200 message after about 20 months of infrequent use. Probably printed 250 pages, total -- almost all B&W. Lousy product. Use Canon cameras, but now having big problems with their photo management software. Going to find another product line for everything I used to use Canon to do.

I am yet another MX892 owner with the dreaded B200 error. It would be nice to have a real manual with technical information that would allow a competent owner to fix their own machines. My thinking now is to tear the machine apart for hobbyist parts like stepper motors and optical edge sensors.

Has never worked correctly, frequently malfunctions, difficult to connect to network. I'm about to throw it out and buy an Epson.

Had this printer for about 3 years, not very heavy use. Got the B200 error then it changed to U052 error after I unplugged it for a while. Says the print head is not compatible but haven't changed anything. It's useless now since I can't get rid of the error on the screen to even scan or fax. Bought this one to replace another Canon that died due to printhead failure. Will not buy Canon again

I bought this less than 3 years ago and got the B200 fatal error last week. These products should last longer than that!

Great features and excellent copies for over a year... and then I got that dreaded Error Code B200. Tried every thing I could find to clear the error. Actually got the error code cleared, but when then tried to copy something the error reappeared.

THIS MODEL REPLACED OLDER CANON WITH ERROR MESSAGE. I HAVE USED ALL FUNCTIONS ON DAILY BASIS WITHOUT PROBLEMS. I PRINT, COPY, SCAN, AND FAX AND YES IT WILL AT TIMES BE SOMEWHAT SLOW TO RESPOND BUT FINISHES JOB WELL. SOFTWARE IS AMAZING WITH MANY FUNCTIONS THAT ARE FUN TO LEARN AND VALUABLE TO HAVE IN YOUR ARSENAL. TAKING TIME TO FEEL YOUR WAY AROUND THIS MODEL WILL FIND IT REWARDING! 4 STARS BECAUSE AS WITH MOST PRINTERS IT'S THE COST OF INK AND HOW FAST IT CAN DEPLETE. HOWEVER THIS MODEL IS NOT THAT BAD. VERY PLEASED WITH CANON. AFTER READING SOME OTHER REVIEWS, I AM CONVINCED SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT ABOVE FISHER PRICE PRINTERS..........LOL

Canon means quality and for just 3 yrs. now I've never been disappointed. This was an upgrade from my last pixma printer and it was welcome. The ink cartridges are individual so less expense, speed and quality are superb. Plan on staying with Canon for years to come.
Great Machine

This Machine replaced an older Canon machine that I wore out. This machine was very easy to set up. We have a new Grandchild and my daughter has been sending lots of photos.I have printed out a number of full sheet color borderless photos. The prints are exceptional. The scanner and the ADF work great. I love Canon Customer Support. When I have had an issue they are very helpful and the customer support department is here in the USA
