Initially I had a lot of problems connecting to this printer wirelessly. Canon support was not helpful. Then I replaced my D-Link router with a Netgear Nighthawk router. All my connectivity issues disappeared never to recur. 
This printer is unique in that it can read both sides of a two-sided document automatically from the feeder and then can produce a two-sided copy of that same document. No other home machine can do this. 
Providing you use Canon ink products the results are stunning. I have owned two of these printers. The first one lasted for 6 years and then the print head stopped working. There seemed to be no way to get the printhead replaced. I purchased another one of these printers and have used it now for 5 years and it is still going strong. I went to the Canon website to see if they still sell this model and they do.
I was shocked to see how many bad reviews this printer model has gotten but I can also say that the problem for most people will be the same one I had of having a bad router. Get a good router and you will love this printer.

Best printer for home use

I bought this from the factory a few years ago. I never used the supplied ink cartridges, because they are low volume.  I always used the high capacity Canon cartridges.  I ran out of ink (happens frequently and could not get to the store, so I used the old ink that came with the printer.  Since then, I frequently get a B200 error.  I bought fresh ink, did not fix the code.  I bought a new printhead, did not fix the code.  Support website says to buy a new printer.  Doing a search on the internet shows this is a common problem.  Because of this, I would NOT recommend ANY Canon products.

I can?t believe how awful this printer is, I mean the printer itself is amazing, but it seems like after how much time/not much paper, it?s complaining that it?s low on ink. Can it evaporate????

Ink guzzler

I have had my unit for over 10 years. My mx922 still prints like a champ. Many complaints about this unit sounds typical of people who don?t understand the settings and how to use a quality printer. They?re lazy and want everything done for them.

Reliable and prints beautiful photos

I've gone through two MX-922's over the past 14 years.  Excellent printing of color photos.  More than adequate printing of documents.  I have been in the DVD business since 1997 and use the 922 as a backup to occasionally print disc art on commercial DVDs in small batches in between large runs from our replicator.  This unit was far superior than the Epson device we used prior.
Yes, I know no one uses DVD's anymore except for hobby storage.  But WHY HAVE YOU DISCONTINUED THIS PRODUCT??!!!

Great printer!!  Where can I my 3rd unit??

I have been having trouble since 2 years ago I am so disappointed I run all test but still  having same issue. Print shipping labels and the code comes out waveyand post office does not detect it

Bad Printer

I purchased this printer about 3-4 years ago & love it.  Printing pictures are great whether it's connected by cable or through wifi.  The only thing that is a big con is when the printer reaches a certain age, error 1403 comes up which is the printer head error.  I replaced the printer head, but the error still won't go away.  I've done research on & tried everything recommended and nothing.  I ended up purchasing a new printer.  Other than this issue, I haven't had any problems with it and I'm quit satisfied with the product.

I bought this printer on 05/20/2018 to replace my Pixma MX870 that I had since 2011 till a power surge fried it.  As of now I've had my MX922 for almost 4 years and I can pretty much confirm it's the same printer as the MX870.  It is a a reliable, functional workhorse.  This features are amazing, scanning AND printing in duplex is something I am constantly using.  I haven't faxed in a years, but it was an original need when I got it. 

Print quality is Adequate - it's an inkjet so colors and pictures in documents are decent, but printing a photo requires top end photo paper, and you need to get the genuine ink.  My biggest complaint with all canon Pixma printers is the speed to first page - the printer gets the info to print, then you can hear the rollers and print heads moving for what seems like an eternity.  JUST PRINT!!  

I don't bother trying to use the Scanning Button direct from the printer, but instead use a program on my laptop.  Never had an issue with it, but trying to direct scan to a computer over WIFI seems to cause issues, if it's plugged in via USB it works fine, but who buys a wireless printer to use a USB plug?  

Pros - Reliable, features, functionality, speed per page, print/scan from phone

Cons - Slow to start printing first page, needs high quality paper for images, Canon brand ink is expensive

Duplex Printing and Scanning!

I have spent hours trying to get this printer to consistently scan wirelessly. Look at the web and see all of the problems. I wouldn't recommend this printer to an enemy let alone a friend.

Great printer. Used mine a few years, and no problem. Very useful combined printer, scanner, Fax machine. Good value. Thanks Canon ... better than competitors !

I AM NOW ON MY FOURTH MX922 IN ABOUT A TEN YEAR PERIOD.  I DON'T KNOW THAT I WILL BE HAPPY WITH SOMETHING THAT I AM FORCED TO REPLACE IT WITH WHEN THAT TIME COMES.  I AM A SERVANT OF THE LORD WHO IS A MEDIA SPECIALIST AND I COULDN'T BEGIN TO TELL YOU OF THE GREAT NUMBER OF CDs/DVDs THAT I HAVE PRINTED WITH CHURCH SRERVICES, GOSPEL MUSIC, AND BIBLE TEACHING OVER A THIRTY YEAR PERIOD. MY CHURCH, NOR MYSELF, HAVE EVER HAD A BIG BUDGET BUT THE MX922 (PREVIOUSLY THE MX920 HAS MET OUR NEEDS. TRUE, IT ISN'T THE FASTEST PRINTER TO BE HAD, BUT IT IS IN THE MINORITY OF ALL PRINTERS THAT ALL YOU TO PRINT DISK MEDIA FROM A HOME/SMALL OFFICE INKJET PRINTER.  IT BOTHERS ME TO SEE SUCH A LOW RATING FOR THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE IT IS WITHOUT DOUBT THE FINEST PRINTER THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED - NEEDLESS TO SAY COST EFFECTIVE AND DEPENDABLE.

poor printer

This printer if used from another device per say will not connect and will sit there attempting to connect in order to print...you are 2 feet away from it! It is right there! This leads me to go and have to restart it EVERY SINGLE TIME.

This thing is more disconnected than my exes!

I bought this model 7 years ago to replace an MG8220 that had water damage from monsoons in Southeast Asia where it was produced. The MX922 has been a dependable work horse for my husband and I. He prints via a WiFi connection to his PC laptop; I connect via WiFi from my iPhone, iPad, MacBook or iMac. He uses the machine mostly for printing; I use it more for scanning. I occasionally print color photos, mailing labels, even the occasional envelope. This printer has never let us down and has never needed repair. The ink cartridges are a bit pricey (though not as bad as those for comparable Epson models). But if you want high-quality color reproduction, fake Canon cartridges won't give it to you.

Reliable printer but ink is expensive

I repeatedly tried to get someone locally to fix this printer to no avail. The cost quoted me was more than I could buy a working one on line. These are the parts that appear to have fallen out.  I pride myself on being able to repair anything-this printer stumped me.

Parts Fell Out

I've had this printer over a year.  If I had known it was an ink guzzler, I wouldn't have wasted my money!  Ink is expensive, and it's also slow to start printing.  I regret my purchase!

INK GUZZLER

I have had this printer about three years now and it never fails to print. It uses the cheapest ink I can find and never fails to find my network after a power outage; things my HP printers would never do. Highly recommend this printer.

Love it

I found Mx922 to have quality prints and easy to use.  The only thing is that it is slow starting the print but when it get started it is pretty good.

I searched long and hard for a printer that had all the features I needed. I found it in this printer. As a homeschool mom of 6 kids, I print A LOT and I needed it to work well from my phone. 

I can buy cheap ink (sorry overpriced manufacturer ink! so I really get my monies worth. 

I especially like the wireless printing, double sided printing, the scan feature and most of all, that the ink tanks are all separate colors so I only replace ink that I actually use. 

I had an error code one time that tech support was unable to assist me with but I was relentless and tried the opposite of what they suggested (reverse sequence of buttons to push) and it fixed it. 

I have owned this printer for over 5 years and hope it lasts a LONG time. 5 years is already a long time for printers of today, honestly.

Best printer ever!

I bought this printer about a year ago. It is literally the most complicated thing I have ever owned. At first I thought it was probably user error, but a year later and it is still just as difficult. Half the time it doesn?t work and the other half of the time it takes so long to connect to wifi and to actually print the stuff that it?s not even worth it. I have heard great things about this brand but personally, this is the last item I will ever buy from Canon.

Change the ink and now I can't get the code 1660 to leave clean it and everything . My printer is the cannon mx922

Multiple printhead cleanings are required every week. No matter the brand of ink cartridges purchased. Frequently stops making copies. I'm talking about up to 10 copies/hour. Canon has already replaced the entire machine before for breakdowns.

Not dependable at all

I bought this 5+ years ago, and it just keeps on keeping on!  Picture printing is unsurpassed, and the printer is very robust and reliable.

Stable and reliable

I bought the MX922 several years ago. I worked fantastic for about 3 years until the warranty was gone.  I bought the same model again about 2 years ago.  I've had nothing but trouble with it from day 1.  It's like it is a totally different model.  I takes forever to connect and print.  It prints every line different - some look like a different font, some are bold.  I've done everything - done alignment, printed patterns, put new ink cartridges in - done it all.  No help.  I wish I could return this piece of junk.

HELP!!!

Bought the MX 922 six and one half years ago.  Heavy usage.  No issues with this model other than it has a drinking problem (ink.  :).  Today the print quality is starting to show the age of the printer.  No complaint.  If I could find a new MX 922 I would buy it.  Recommend this printer but it isn?t made any more.

A real work horse

That printer still rocking my office. Typically I don't print a lot of pages but my daughter does. By this day 03/05/2021 the print test saws nothing but perfect lines, a very surprised situation compared to my MX900. I am looking foe a reason to start looking for a new printer but so far there is none. Thank you Canon my MX922 rocks compared to my previous MX900 which was a nightmare.
