Soild Battery
But I still bought several as shooting video with the Canon Powershot S100 for over 45 minutes will drain the darn thing. Otherwise for point and shoot they're a solid battery that never lets me down.

Necessary accessory
Due to the small battery size coupled with the electrical demands of today's cameras, having spare batteries is essential. This makes a total of three I'll carry when out for a day's shooting. Such is the trade-off with small, yet powerful cameras. Effective steps that can be taken to reduce consumption are offered in the manual.

Excellent Long Lasting Battery
I have purchased one of these batteries for my Canon 850 before and it has lasted a number of years. I have also purchased a 'third-party' battery about half the price, but it did not last as long. I will purchased Canon Batteries for my camera from this time forth. Adorama's prompt service was excellent!!!

Holds a charge
The Canon NB-5L holds a tremendous charge. Have had no probelms with the product.

batteries are not alike
I don't know why Canon changed from NB 5L to the NB 6L. The NB 6L will not fit in my wife's S 90 and the NB 5L will not fit in my S 100. It is virtually the same camera, and they are the best point and shoot cameras available, yet they changed the battery and are not compatible.

Worth the additional cost
These batteries charge quickly and last through many shots. I wish Canon would find a way to let you know when they are reaching the end of their life, however, as there is currently no way to know until they just quit one day.
They are especially useful while traveling internationally, as they charge easily regardless of the voltage of the electricity.
