To replace my 6020, I liked the large color screen 1020. Easy out of the box. BUT I encountered issues when connecting to my wireless router. My computer got the error 526 and my phone was directed to open a credit card account. I used an ethernet cord and wired the 1020 setup. The 1020 functions great. YES I happily bought the 1020 and I am happy to use it wired--thumb up. BUT I CANNOT RECOMMEND this product. The canon setup connections for the 1020 out of the box are geared more toward canon business applications and connectivity than printing which lead me and I bet will lead others to needless problems-thumb down.

I replaced my Canon TS6420 w/ this GX1020. I absolutely hated the door panel feature on the TS model. If I was in the shop & wanted to print something out, I had to come in & make sure that door was up. The jury is still out on this printer but so far I love everything on it, almost. It takes a little bit long to start printing, but once it starts it's blazing fast. A little louder than I like but so far so good!

I bought this printer a month ago and I still regret my decision. The only way it will print is to connect via USB. Wireless printing in non-functional. Followed the instructions twice; same result. Printer is on the wireless network. Laptop is on the wireless network. Canon software is enabled in firewall permissions. STILL NO WIRELESS COMMUNICATION! Save yourself hours of aggravation and try anything else!

I have been very pleased with my new Canon Mega Tank Maxify GX1020 printer. It was easy to set up and get connected to a new computer I purchased. I like that the 4 ink bottles have different necks on them so they can't be used in the wrong tank. The software was easy to download and once I had the printer specifics set right it works very well. The print is very clear and concise and the colors look great.

We needed to replace an inkjet printer but I couldn't find anything that would fit into the small space of the old printer that just printed. So I started researching all in one printers but most of them were too big and/or had pretty bad reviews, until I found the Canon Maxify GX1020 supertank printer. It fit into the small space and had pretty decent reviews. It arrived today and even though it doesn't come with much of any setup instructions I quickly figured out that they really weren't needed. Once I plugged it in the screen showed me step by step what to do and once I had installed the print heads and filled the ink I was ready to connect to the computer. We just wanted a USB connection and no wireless needed-Keep it simple. I downloaded the drivers, plugged in the USB cable and everything worked just as it should. I have only printed a couple of pages so I don't know if I will be less happy as time goes on but at the moment it is a great printer. One of the best parts is that it has a real honest to goodness paper tray that is easy to load, unlike the other (brand withheld) printers we have which have a very flimsy paper tray that is a royal pain to fill. It was also easy to fill the ink and since you can see the level there won't be any problem witih getting half way thru a print job and running out of ink. Picture colors on plain paper were pretty good so I'm sure they would be excellent on photo paper.

Somply put, my preference is the PIXMA6020 it's much easier to install and set up. The MAXIFYdoes not come with an installation disk as have all of my other canon printers.

I owned an Epson EcoTank that has been great but gifted it to my Daughter because I hated seeing her drop $80-90 bucks on her HP twice a year for ink. Was willing to buy another Epson but saw this Canon on sale with a front loading cassette paper tray and decided to give it a try. Time will tell if the ink will last as long as the Epson but so far I'm not disappointed.

Canon MAXIFY GX1020 with GI-25 4 Bottles Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow. Set-up 4 bottles have slightly more ink fluid. Black 67 ml, C/M/Y 37 ml separate bottles average. Do Not use CD to Set up. Down-load gives your current operating system drivers. USB cable (optional) best computer to printer signal, than using Wi-Fi under 800-Mbps. Load ink bottles under Mega-Tank cover (front right corner), begin with Yellow more easily see ink flow into tank, in case you wear prescription glasses. Tank has No white wall to see ink levels. Carefully hold bottle straight up & squeeze bottle as ink level changes, close cap. Follow with Magenta, then Cyan and Black. When using after-market ink cartridges, ink leaked. Went thru Amazon for genuine Canon cartridges. PIXMA use cartridges - standard 13 m-s-r-p per cartridge, extra-life 19. MAXIFY use bottles, Black 15 and C/M/Y 10 each. 3 year warranty when online register with Canon.

First off I'll start off by saying this thing really is mega. Still have yet to find a big enough space to put it. Overall it was quick to get up and running and set up. The print quality is that of most printers I've used, nothing special. But overall satisfied.

I would have loved to give it 5 stars. However, the wifi connection just isn't there. I kept dropping connection. The print quality is great and the cost to replace the ink isn't too bad. So overall it's a decent printer for the cost. I do believe connecting it directly with usb or ethernet is much better. Hope this helps.

I am loving this printer! I have not had any technical glitches that I had with my previous printer, and I like that is is sleek and compact! It was a dream to set up and is so easy to use! Also love that price for ink will be cheaper in the long run, as I can be replacing the colors individually.

This printer is going to be a great addition to my office and classroom. The paper handling on the printer allows me to print different projects. Like the fact that the tanks for the inks are so large but I wish that you can auto-ship them.

I was concerned about this printer being too big (look at the box it was shipped in) but it turns out to be a decent size for your home office. It definitely is a bit on the bulky side and will not fit in a cube shelf but that is not a big deal. The idea of cartridge-free, or MegaTank, is a huge innovation in printer industry which saves lots of money and maintenance effort in the long run. I love that now I can easily see the ink levels and refill them whenever needed. Other than that, it is an extremely easy to use printer and it gets all the printing jobs done in no time. Photocopy and scanner may not be used as much but comes in handy whenever you have the need to.

Canon is a popular brand for electronics products like printers, cameras, etc.... and this printer is very good. FAST: It takes about 8-10 seconds to print a full-page picture, which is very fast. EASY: to set up and connect by the cord or by wifi. You don't really need a computer to print. You can connect by phone through WiFi. That is what I like about this printer. CHEAP: You can spend money to buy a good printer and then buy bottles of ink to refill that is much much cheaper help to save money on the ink.. The thing I really don't like about this is the noise, it's the same with any other printer. It will be perfect if it is less noise than others. But it is worth it. If you need something fast, cheap, and easy to set up and won't care much about the noise. This is the perfect one you need to buy and use it.

Nice color inkjet all-in-one printer. I like the size, almost silent noise level, and printer speed for its size. The only thing I don't like is the output tray. Its not really a tray at all, and it does not securely hold the printed output. Canon could have done better.

I received the Canon Maxify GX1020 Wireless MegaTank Home & Office All-in-one printer for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I really liked how eveything was organized in the box and it was tell what was what. I did have a little bit of trouble setting up the wireless connection but it wasn't too bad. I like that this printer isn't as big as i thought it was going to be and only takes up a moderate amount of desk space. Also, I like the touch screen function but I do wish there was a way to make it more sensitive because I do have to touch it several times but not a big deal, I'm sure I will get used to it. It's very easy to print things straight from my phone which is what I will be using it for the most. I am very happy with this printer and I would 100% recommend.
