For prior Canon SD owners, the controls and functions are welcomingly familar. Bought this to replace my aging SD500 since wanted one more lightweight at a higher resolution. This unit is extremely compact and lightweight yet produces great picture quality even when using the digital zoom and in lower light settings using just plain auto settings. The quality, feel and finish is excellent except perhaps not as scratch resistant as one would like. The image stability feature compensates well even when maxing out the digital zoom to 12x. LCD screen is extremely vivid even outdoors and despite the size, the controls are very easy to use even with my large fingers.
