Brought brand new as soon as the camera was out with two lenses, the whole packages. Love the quality of the pictures and the size of the camera. A perfect to go camera for anyone, well.. Kind of.. After half a year of using probably once or twice a month, the auto focus wouldn't want to work. It will sometimes work and sometimes not, wont even focus under manual focus! Frustrated and couldn't figured out whats wrong, since still under warranty of one year. Had it send for repair. Long story short.. After three days of getting the camera back, same thing happen! I had enough and sold it.. I can see why it was discontinued!

Use this as a semi professional photog in a wide variety of settings including landscape and sports. Light, easy to use, wide range of available acc., and does what it is asked to do. For what I've done and used this for I can't really find much it can't do. Starting to use this for video and it seems to do well here as well. In video mode you can hear the focus mechanism working in the background.

I am just getting used to the new digital cameras. My last one was a Canon XTi, and before that an Canon AE1 Program. I love the features on this new model. It makes light work of dark no flash situations. Far off low light shots almost always require more focus time. Images are clean. They do grain up at 6400 iso. I am glad I bought this one. I take it out a take pictures of stuff around the house, in different light conditions. Battery life is a little less than my XTi.

I reckon this camera as the best choice for Entry level DSLR, having AF during video and vari angle LCD make it very convenient during video shooting, and result of photography with different lenses is comparable with Full frame body camera. a must have camera even you buy full frame body after ward. you cannot lose this camera. I upgraded from 2009's XSI/450D. So far this has been a terrific camera. No complaints at all. I love having the video at the flip of a switch, then switch it back to shooting pics. ISO performance is a lot better than my older XSI/450D. Could hardly ask for more. Plus Adorama had a great price. Thank you Adorama. A+

I am a novice to photography and with a lot of research and advice I decided to go for it . I am glad I made this choice. I love the performance and I am happy after the inputs I got from some of my professional friends in India on my purchase. Go for it.

I have a T2i for few years and usd it for my wildlife photo shots. T4i has many improvements for clarity and low light situations. So far I have not missed a shot. I was considering the EOS Rebel 60D. It is also a very good camera; however, it was a little heavier. I have weak shoulders; therefore, I bought the T4i.

This is a great product for an enthusiast like me. Its all intuitive and guides me well with different photo situations. The adaptability of this with different lenses is great. Overall, a stunning product. I may come back with an updated review, after a few months, as my camera is only 3 weeks old now. So far so good.

I have been into photography for many years. Always used canon when possible. I will be using this camera to capture the memories of my grandchildren and family vacations as well as points of interest in day to day life. I am now 61 years young and this is my first digital SLR. I chose canon because of my past experience with canon...once again canon has not failed me. I did not think that I would ever leave my 35MM SlR on the shelf. Just two days with this camera and I have already overcome my fear of the new technology. I will have mastered this soon...not because of my intelligence...because canon has made it so user friendly. The image quality is beyond belief. The ease of use is phenomenal.

This is my 3rd Canon Camera. I have a point and shoot, a rebel eos xti and this one. I can't speak enough of what all these canon cameras have provided me in terms of results in photography. Suffice it to say, any purchaser of canon camera's and in the T 4i will never make a mistake. It makes photography so simply easy to take pictures with. I recommend it highly and for fast, quick, courteous deliveries, buy them from ADORAMA. I have gotten excellent service, courteous and professional dealings from the time I bought this camera from Jimmy Newmark of Adorama. It came in the day he promised delivery. Speaking of service, Jimmy is the epitome of "class". I salute him.

I am an ameteur photographer and I have been searching for months on the internet for a good camera at a decent price, this one suited me the most. One of the major buying point for this camera is the sviwel screen and that I can borrow lenses from my friends although all the specs are no match with the competitors Cons: I wish the light sensitivity was better and indoor shots are properly focussed without flash.

I use this camera for indoor low lighting and outdoors photography. This camera and lens produces great quality photos. I use this camera for still shots, action shots, videos, portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, wildlife. Let's just say I use it for all types of photography.

First of all, it arrived a day early so I got a nice start with using the camera. I'm pleased with the 18-135 mm lens. In fact ecstatic! I also found that one of my other lens is working better!

As an owner of the original Digital Rebel, I can say that the improvements have been great. I'm loving the touch screen and the doubling of video recording time. I only wish that White Balance adjustments in degrees of Kelvin were available in the Rebel series. A great camera for beginners and enthusiasts, and perfect as a second body for event shooters!

1. Adorama advertised no accessories. I did not expect that meant no Operating Manual. Yes, pdf download available, but very inconvenient to use, 350+ pages too much to print. 2. Very impressed with camera's functionality, but the software behaves in unexpected ways, and the manual does not address this. I use primarily manual mode. The Quick control button calls up the quick setting screen as described, sometimes. But other times it pulls up an Auto-focus screen which I cannot escape from unless I turn off the camera and re-boot it. I have found some work-arounds, but they do not always work. The camera seems to believe that selecting your autofocus setting is so important that you cannot get out of that setting function. This is especially infuriating when I am not using autofocus. Other times the Quick Control Button pulls up an abbreviated control screen with little icons representing the setting wheel showing that you can change this or that setting with the wheel. Other times it does not show you, and if you try to use the left right arrows to select a function, it defaults to the auto-focus setting screen. For some-one who wants a highly versatile camera and is content to let the camera do the thinking, it is very versatile. But if you want to control some aspects of your photography, be prepared to spend a lot of time learning to navigate the software.

Awesome Camera!

This camera does it all! I bought this to replace an older canon camera(5mp, and I wanted to upgrade, I take a lot of outdoor/nature pictures. The extra lense is a "bonus", I have snapped shots of eagles from across a small lake and it was like being right in front of the tree they were in! The pictures I have taken are so crisp and clear and print out very nicely on my not so expensive printer. The movie mode is a nice feature, better is the LCD screen that can be positioned different ways. ...

Canon EOS Rebel T4i DSLR is Canon's most sophisticated Rebel ever. Built to make advanced photography simple and fun, the Rebel T4i delivers phenomenal image quality, high performance, and fast, intuitive operation. This EOS Rebel amps up the speed with the powerful DIGIC 5 Image Processor that helps make high-speed continuous shooting of up to 5.0 fps possible great for capturing fast action. An 18.0 Megapixel CMOS sensor ensures that every image is shot in superb, high resolution; and an extended ISO range of 100 12800 gives photographers the opportunities to take the Rebel T4i into more shooting situations than ever before.
A 9-point all cross-type AF system (including a high-precision dual cross f/2.8 center point) delivers improved autofocus performance, and a new Hybrid CMOS AF System increases autofocus speed when shooting photos and video in Live View. For users interested in creating impressive videos, the Rebel T4i is ready to help you create your next masterpiece. Movie Servo AF provides continuous focus of moving subjects, so you never miss a moment.
A built-in stereo microphone and manual audio level adjustment helps ensure that your audio will match the stunning quality of your video. First ever for an EOS Rebel, the Rebel T4i features a Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor II, which allows fast and intuitive camera operation. Add compatibility with Canon's proven EF and EF-S lenses and a slew of EOS accessories, the Rebel T4i is Canon EOS Rebel T4i
Chock full with features previously only found on more advanced cameras, the new Canon Rebel T4i still offers a feature set that will please technophobic point-and-shooters while giving them more room than ever to grow.
If you were to only look at the feature set of the Canon EOS Rebel T4i, you might be forgiven if you thought it was a prosumer camera. After all, an 18MP CMOS sensor, a souped-up image processor that is said to deliver action-catching 5 frames-per-second burst rate, and an extended ISO range of 100-12,800 (expandable to ISO 25,000!) that is said to offer excellent low-light image quality, and an improved 9-point all cross-type AF system, are all features we've seen before, but on cameras designed for serious hobbyists and pro shooters.
But the T4i's sophisticated features are overlayed by technology, such as the first touch screen to be found on a Canon DSLR, as well as intelligent auto, all designed to make using such an advanced camera more intuitive for folks who are ready to step up from compact cameras and cell phones to the flexibility and creative possibilities of DSLR photography.
Image Quality Improvements
Canon bumped up resolution to 18 Megapixels, so that the T4i is on par with the prosumer-end EOS 7D, and has increased the ISO range to 100-12,000, with a boost to ISO 25,000. (The CMOS sensor's center pixels are said to aid in the T4i's AF performance, which Canon says is greatly improved.) Image tonality is expected to be more subtle and accurate thanks to new 14-bit analog-to-digital conversion, recording up to 16,384 colors per channel. For the less technical reader, that means fine detail such as found in foliage and water will be recorded with greater accuracy and fidelity.
A new DIGIC 5 image processor is said to offer advanced noise-reduction technology, allowing users to shoot in low light without adding flash or other artificial light sources while expecting outstanding image quality. One of the ways it will do this is via a new feature, Multi Shot Noise Reduction. This takes over in very low light where the image processor's capabilities may be taxed. InMulti Shot Noise Reduction mode, the camera camera takes four consecutive shots, merges and aligns them. This eliminates more noise than the Rebel's traditional Noise Reduction filter, with what Canon says is little or no apparent resolution loss. Moving subjects are even optimized to minimize subject blur. This is a clever new feature that we can't wait to try out in a production model!
Performance Boosts
Another trick up the T4i's DIGIC 5 processor is a faster burst rate up to 5.0 fps continuously at full resolution. This makes it a great camera for Soccer Moms and Nascar Dads who want to catch the action at the race and the match and to catch fast kids and pets. The T4i's Autofocus speed is said to have been improved, thanks to several new autofocus developments. The Rebel T4i's revamped autofocus is a 9-point, all cross-type AF system (including high-precision dual-cross f/2.8 center point) for accurate focus whether the camera is oriented in portrait or landscape position. A new AI Servo AF system is said to achieve and maintains consistent focus with an exceptional degree of reliability.
The EOS Rebel T4i also offers a new Hybrid CMOS AF System, designed for shooting photos and video in Live View. This new system combines two distinct AF technologies, phase and contrast detection AF, for speedier and more accurate focus. These complementary focusing systems are aided by pixels on the camera's CMOS sensor that assist in predicting subject location; therefore making continuous focus tracking quick and accurate in video recording while enhancing focusing speed, according to Canon.
Video Improvements
Capable of shooting in a number of recording sizes and frame rates, offers manual control of exposure, focus and Live View features, even in-camera editing. New Movie Servo AF allows continuous autofocus tracking of moving subjects while recording video. When shooting video with one of Canon's new STM lenses, Movie Servo AF takes advantage of the lens' stepping motor for smooth and quiet continuous AF. There's an internal stereo microphone and a wind filter feature to reduce wind noise when shooting outdoors. Sound recording levels can be manually (up to 64 different levels) or automatically controlled. A built-in attenuator is also provided to reduce audio clipping. For more advanced audio recording, the Rebel T4i is compatible with many third-party electret condenser microphones with a 3.5mm diameter plug.
A Video Snapshot feature allows the EOS Rebel T4i DSLR to capture short video clips (of 2, 4 or 8 seconds) then combine them automatically into one video file as a snapshot or highlights "album." Additionally, stills can be recorded during video shooting simply by pressing the camera's shutter button. During playback, video clips in an album can now be reordered or deleted.
Touch-Screen LCD
The T4i is the first Rebel to offer a touch screen LCD. The Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor II is said to use the same capacitive technology as today's popular mobile devices. It is touch-sensitive and delivers intuitive touch panel operation. Two finger touch gestures (multi-touch) can be used for zooming or changing images, menu and quick control settings can be accessed, and focus point and shutter release can be activated with the touch of a fingertip. Displaying fine detail (at approximately 1.04 million dots), this screen is perfect for composing and reviewing images. Thanks to a new, solid construction between the monitor's resin-coated cover and the liquid crystal display, reflections are said to be minimized, and the display can be viewed, without glare, from any number of angles. The LCD's surface is treated with a smudge-resistant coating to minimize fingerprints and maintain a bright, clear image display.
Other new features include:
Feature Guide: There are a lot of interesting features in this camera, but to DSLR newcomers it can be overwhelming. Canon's got your back. To help explain the specific function of features found on the EOS Rebel T4i, the feature guide displays a simple description helpful in determining the applicability for the situation at hand. It is displayed in each shooting mode, during mode dial operations, and for Quick Control screen functions. It appears automatically when a function is selected. The feature guide works automatically by default, and can be easily turned off if you know what you're doing.
Scene Intelligent Auto mode: Scene Intelligent Auto mode analyzes the image, accounting for faces, colors, brightness, moving objects, contrast, detects whether the camera is handheld or on a tripod, and then chooses the most appropriate exposure settings and enhancements.
Handheld Night Scene mode: Accessible on the EOS Rebel T4i's Mode Dial, Handheld Night Scene mode captures nightscapes with bright highlights and detailed dark areas, delivering results previously impossible without the use of a tripod by shooting and combining four consecutive shots at a shutter speed fast enough to avoid camera shake.
HDR Backlight Control mode: The EOS Rebel T4i's HDR Backlight Control mode ensures that backlit subjects are not recorded too dark by shooting three consecutive shots at different exposures (underexposed, correctly exposed and overexposed) and then combining the images.
Seven Creative Filters, plus new Art Bold Effect and Water Painting Effect: To add to the fun and creative possibilities available with the EOS Rebel T4i, seven different creative filters that can dramatically alter the mood and visual effect of any particular scene. Creative Filters include Grainy Black and White, Soft Focus, Fish-eye Effect, Toy Camera Effect, Miniature Effect and new filters, Art Bold Effect (makes the photos look like an oil painting, with subjects appearing three-dimensional), and Water Painting Effect (photos are altered to look like a water-colored painting). Since the filters can be applied to the image after shooting, it's easy to try several effects on the same shot.
