This printer is less than a year old and hasn't worked properly without a hitch since a week after we set it up. Constantly needing reset, removed, reinstalled, won't find the connection, always offline. When it does work, it's shockingly slow. I wouldn't recommend this printer if they paid me. I want my money back. I had a better printer in 1998.

Now own 2 of these.... and wish I owned none. Bought one to replace the 922, what a waste, and got one as a "gift". Consumes ink, ADF loves to eat paper and absoutely difficult to set up. My advise, avoid, avoid, avoid... even if a gift!

I bought this during the start of the pandemic because it was the only one in the store. First one lasted about 4 months before going into error. RMA lasted about 2 months. Second RMA another 2 months. Third RMA actually working course to a year now.. chews through the over priced ink on about 20 pages though. Absolutely ridiculous.

After a very difficult start-up lasting several months and finally requiring assistance from Canon, I have had this printer working for about four months of light use. I am shocked at the poor rate at which ink tanks need replacement. I rarely need to print in color. I mam back to Walmart buying ink about every 2 months. Never had this problem with five previous Canon printers. I suspect Canon is either including less ink in the cartridges of they are smaller. It's annoying to see the low-ink notices beginning within a week or two of replacing them all, after only twenty or so sheets run through the printer. I will be hunting for a replacement.

It works fairly well after long and hard wrestling to figure out whether it can do anything. I wish it wasn't all shrouded in mystery. I wish there were some operating instructions somewhere in this universe. My instincts and intuition are not powerful

Had the printer for about a year and the touch screen stopped working. Printer becomes unresponsive often and has to be cycled on and off.

EASY SET UP IS NOT EASY, EVEN FOR A COMPUTER GEEK LIKE ME. SOMETIMES PULLS PAPER OUT OF WRONG SOURCE. PAPER FEED SCANNER MESSED UP AFTER A FEW USES AND NOT WILL NEVER PULL PAPER STRAIGHT, MESSING UP MY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS. HOWEVER WHEN IT WORKS, IT IS FAST AND RELIABLE. GREAT FOR SMALL OFFICE

we bought two of these one for each of ur Computers. Both give us constant trouble, and we spend more time trying to reset them and keep them in contact with the PC than it is worth one wants to print all copies from back paper source, not matter how I set it, it always goes back. Main problem is keeping it contact with computers Not going to keep it longer, going to buy another brand.

personally cant stand this printer. it doesnt work properly 90 percent of the time, doesnt detect devices as it should, the setup is a mess, and whoever designed the trays, and how the paper comes out should never have been given a job doing that. garbage printer

Does a fairly decent job with photos but has incredibly small paper feeder tray. WiFi is inconsistent, but when it works, it is convenient. I often have to do a reset, and that's a pain If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought something different.

When it works it is fine. However, it often just decides to quit working. I try to print from my PC and it says printer off line. It's not offline, I just printed 30 minutes ago and it worked fine. It also has a mind of it's own. It will give a message that the paper in the rear feeder is the wrong type. I don't use the back feeder, it decided to try to use it. It asks if I want to print anyway and I say yes. It gives me the same message. I gives me messages for double sided printing. I didn' ask for double sided, it decided to try to print double sided. I waste a lot of time fighting with the printer to try to get it to do what I want. Wouldn't have another Canon 8520 if Canon paid me to get it.

No support is provided now and the printer is not old. I can't get it to work. Have tried everything.

I have to reinstall the driver EVERY time I want to print. I never had this issue with HP. I will NEVER by a Canon again.

1. the software has features (e.g., image garden that just take up space and confuse me... and are not any kind of replacement for PhotoShop, Lightroom, etc. When you scan, set up where you want to park the file and name it before you scan, or it puts it wherever it likes and names it with your last title. 2. Recently, the printer started kicking out up to 20 copies of documnets I'd only aksed for one of. Then it would rest for an hour and spit out 8 more. I could not clear the queue... there was nothing in it. Canon support said it was an issue with my computer (a four-month-old Dell xps i7). 3. My first Pixma was a dream, and ran perfectly for about 8 years, so I thought this one would be the same. Nope.

I was happy with the quality of colored prints, although would agree with all reviews that the printer as a device is very flimsy. Almost exactly after a year of light use (20 copies a week, something happened to a scanner. Any image you scan has a huge black rectangle when printed or saved as a file.

After many years of dedicated service, my MX922 showed up with an error code that could not be fixed (and believe me, I tried HARD to fix it). Heartbroken and devastated, I searched Canon's website to find what surely should be an upgrade to an amazing product. I was dumbfounded that nothing matched or beat my previous machine. So after reading several reviews, I settled on this one. While the machine itself is "fine", when compared to its predecessor, it's severely lacking. NOTHING about this is easier or better; quite frankly the opposite. The scanner doesn't load several pages, the canon driver (with printing presets) can't be used on a Mac, you have to load paper from the back, it won't print unless the flap is up (so forget being downstairs and air printing from your device unless that flap is UP). If I didn't need a printer so badly, I'd consider giving it back. I hope someone from Canon reads this and BRINGS BACK A PRODUCT ON PAR WITH THE 922!

I purchased this printer about a year ago as I had to replace my PIXMA MX870 which I loved do to how easy it was to use. I purchased the TR850 thinking it would be similar to the MS870 which it is not. The TR850 is more difficult in that there are to many more settings and questions to answer and the scanning is more complicated. I don't like that you don't have an option to print in just "black" as grayscale uses your color ink. However, when the color ink is gone you can print until all the black ink cartridges are empty. Bottom line is, I haven't been that satisfied with the TR8520 and ordered an HP printer.

I am surprised that Canon would actually want their name on this particular printer. It is made cheaply, the touch screen is even flimsy, it is slow, it repeatedly gives "no paper" errors over and over and over, no matter what...Do not recommend this product at all.

Working from home during the pandemic, I had to have a printer/scanner. This has been a lifesaver - I've had to scan numerous documents and now am running it almost all day printing out a huge project. It's hanging in there far better than I imagined. Great little printer.

Quiet, easy to set up, great photo printing and flawless text printing. Everything you'd expect from a Canon!

On the product page for the PIXMA TR 8520, Canon has prominently featured a video showing the Pixma MX 922 essentially evolving into the 8520. Don't you believe it. I had an MX 922, which, after 5 years of flawless service, I was looking to replace. It finally failed = not due to mechanical issues - a 70 pound desk tipped over and fell on it. That's what it took, to remove the 5 star, high quality MX 922 from service. By contrast, the TR 8520 is built so that a stiff breeze would blast it apart. Everything - and I mean - *everything* flexes, under minimal pressure. The plastic its universally made from is cardboard thin - from the paper sheet feeder (which holds about 1/5th of the capacity of the MX 922; to the *lid support* for the scanning assembly (which can't even hold the lid up on a level, it's bending under normal use); to the ADF scanner (which, unlike the MX 922, does not duplex scan. You have to continually flip pages) This printer could not be more clearly engineered to fail, after a year of light use, if it had a label on it saying so. My guess is that the MX 920/922 series were *too* successful. Being built like tanks, and with 3rd party inks available, the razor blade model of inkjet printers / OEM inks at a premium wasn't working with the MX for Canon. The result is this cynical TR 8520 , which is guaranteed to need replacement shortly after 3rd parties crack the ink cartridge authentication / encryption. I own a great deal of Canon camera equipment, and have always been well pleased by their quality commitment. Not here. I returned it the same day i opened it.

My HP all-in-one printer lasted for 13 years, this printer didn't even last 13 months. I did get a great cyber Monday deal but clearly you get what you pay for. Cannon is consistently out of ink and when you don't buy through Cannon the counterfeit message will not let you print. I have spent hours troubleshooting to no avail.

After purchasing and setting up the TR8520 a couple of years ago, I was shocked to discover no available option for printing in draft mode with my MacBook Pro. Obviously, not every print job requires the highest quality setting! Moreover, not only does the ink run out quickly, but it is also exceedingly expensive. Of course, that's likely the whole idea from a profit strategy point of view. Over time, I have concluded that it would be more cost effective to dispose of this printer than to continue buying ink, as I have already spent several times over the original cost of the printer on Canon cartridges!

Print quality is fine, but only when you can get it to print. Most of the time it is offline (and you have to reconnect to the wifi network) and currently it says printer is out of paper (it's not). There are no self-help tools built in and hours have been spent trying to get it to print. I'm ready to donate it and buy another brand.

I'm hating that I can't print draft quality. I use too much ink. I like the air print but it's not Imac friendly as far as the printing options. I won't purchase another canon printer.

I needed a wireless compatible printer for my iPad and iPhone. Studied what was available and settled on the TR8520. Only feature I don’t use is the fax.

Excellent Purchase!

I purchased this TR8520 a couple weeks ago and I am very pleased with all of the features it has. This printer is fast !!! compared to my previous 10 year old printer! It was easy to set up, even though it was my first attempt at a wireless hook up. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade or new printer. I wanted to stay with Canon because I always had good results in the past. When it came time to replace the old with a newer model, I just wanted to make good copie...

I am writing a review for the Product: PIXMA TR8520 BK Printer. I received a free sample in exchange for agreeing to write a review. Overall I loved this canon printer & having all in one made it simple. I really appreciated the more sleek, smaller design than the previous printers as I can have a bit more space now as well. I feel it's just perfect for at an home printer as it's all in one. Easy to use & set up. A con I noticed is it has high running costs. I found this printer to have a hig...
