The absolute worse printer I have ever had. Takes 2 hours minimum of troubleshooting every time I want to use it. Will never buy a canon printer again

This is the worst printer I have ever encountered. The ink runs out quickly, the instructions are vague, and extremely user difficult. I tried to scan and had to spend an hour finding out how to do it.

It prints well enough and functions fine otherwise, however, it’s already nearly empty on ink after a handful of my sons school work use. I know this is intentional and printer ink is literally inflated in price to be more costly than actual blood, but this is just ridiculous. Their bread and butter is on ink refills and they are causing so much waste when people can simply replace the printer cheaper than the ink. The landfills are full of perfectly fine printers that are tossed due to these terrible practices.

I needed a printer for light use. This thing was fiddly from the beginning and I wish I had returned when I was able to. Instead I figured I had to get use to it as it was the first Cannon product I've owned. I've made MAYBE 30 copies (laborious and now it wont print at all. Garbage

I bought this printer 3 years ago with the idea to have a printer handy when i need it. Initially, i used it a few times and the quality was great (this is the reason i am giving 2 stars. However, if you need occasional printer, this is probably the most time consuming printer you can have to get anything printed (if you don't use it often) and unreliable. Let me give you an example, i just decided to print something (11pm), and i find out that one of the 5 cartridges (BX -> black) is empty. There are 2 black cartriges in this monster, but no, if BX is empty the printer won't print anything, go figure. On top of this, until it decides to print, it takes like 3-5min to warm up, or whatever it is ... Another problem is that it won't just 'print' if you click a button, you need to preset the paper to A4, if no preset, it will not print. Usually, when this happens it takes 3-4min for the warm up then the printer makes a sound and the display asks you if you want to register the paper type in one of the trays. It doesn't matter if you click on the display 'Register', it just won't print unless you specify specifically the type that you want to print on. I am stunned that Cannon have developed such a non-sense printer. If you buy this, you will be happy for the first few prints, then regret it ever after!

The first time I changed the ink cartridge it broke. Very short lifespan for an eternity in the landfill. Infuriating.

Bought this awhile back. Worked ok at first. Then just quit. All it does now is copy. Wireless is a joke and won't work with USB as a straight printer.

I bought this printer in Feb 2019 and printed till the ink ran out. I got new ink and decided to print on May 3 2019 and it gives me an Error E03. Did everything and still paper is not jam because there is no paper.

The document conversion in the printing app sucks. The printer itself is a decent no-frills network printer. More expensive and fewer bells and whistles than my previous Canon, but this one hasn't broken yet (yet!.

This printer cannot communicate by wireless LAN and finding any help for the problem has been time consuming and fruitless. It is an ok stand alone printer otherwise. Frustrating to problem solve!!!

I bought this printer expecting it to do what every printer in the last decade could do, which is full size photos on glossy paper, even if not borderless. This one has a limit of 5"×7", but doesn't tell you that on the box. There's no mechanical reason for this limitation, it's a stupid waste of customer's time for their money. The print app refused to print larger and gave me no information why. I had to come here to find out. I feel ripped off and I don't know if I can return the printer and exchange it for a better one after using it. Canon, start exhaustively listing your product features on the box, so we don't make the same mistake or be forced to stand in the store staring at our phones looking up info that should be on the packaging, not hidden in a disclaimer. Shame on you. It erodes the good reputation you have.

Worst printer I have ever bought. After a few weeks the wireless wouldn’t connected and even after hours of troubleshooting with canon support it still won’t work. The only answer I get is that the problem is my internet even though I have 1000 mbps speeds (Google Fiber and every other device near has perfect connection. Oh and here’s the kicker, this product doesn’t come with a wired connection cord included. You have to buy one separately.

Setup couldn't be any easier on my 2010 Mac Pro and 2017 Surface Pro. Does what I need at a fraction of the cost. Not sure why this product receives such poor ratings. Sometimes it's not the product but the system it's being plugged into, even if other printers are able to connect.

Absolutely impossible to reconnect to wifi. I changed wireless plans and had to reconnect this printer. After 2 hours of reinstalling software, following all sorts of "setup guides", the printer still failed to connect. Worked the first time and the second time I had to reconnect to wifi. Now I have to use cable connection.

I've always loved the Canon line of printers. They always are an easy hook up to my home office computer systems. I keep two laptops connected through a router and modem while keeping many external drives as my home version of "the Cloud" to back up my work. The last Canon printer I had was a low cost unit like this one and lasted me over 10 years with little to no problems. Canon also usually handles non OEM cartridges quite well, which saves on the cost of ink cartridges. This unit was an easy hook up and has been working just fine from the start. Makes very good looking color prints and copies. I also love it as my home photocopy machine when I'm sending papers to attorneys I work with. Saves me a trip going to my local Kinkos near my home. Thanks Adorama for such a great machine at an affordable low price too!

I bought it yesterday and it is just terrible. The setup was agonizing. It wouldn't print out the sheet to align itself. It never clears printed items in its queue. I have to restart it often to get it to talk to my computer. The LCD screen is useless and bears no important info. I have to manually clear and restart printing jobs in its settings. Do not waste your money!
