Best in performance for it's features, size & price.

Three years of rugged use & it still functions like new.

Broke before first set of tanks used up.

I bought this a while ago (so it's out of warranty and mainly used it as a scanner doing occasional printing. Haven't even made it through the first set of ink tanks and it is broke. Gives error 6004 which as far as I can tell is a paper jam. Power cycled and checked for paper jam and could not find any. Can't even use it as a scanner.

Ink does not last

Runs out of ink so fast. Very expensive to replace the ink. Does not work if you get them refilled. I would NOT buy this again.

terrible

I am going on a trip. I have boarding passes and trip itineraries to print, it is rather urgent, except I cannot print anything I want because the PIXMA is a nightmare. It is too slow to initiate print jobs. Often takes an hour or even a whole DAY to execute ANY print job. I do not recommend. Allegedly, it is supposed to connect to your wifi so you can print from your wireless network, except this feature is super buggy and has never fully worked. TERRIBLE. DO NOT BUY.

Can say NOTHING good about this machine.

Not only does this machine have an insatiable appetite for paper, it most recently starts to inhale ink in the cartridges. When the current cartridges are empty {which at the current rate of consumption} will take maybe a week ... THIS MACHINE IS GONE NEVER TO REPLACED WITH ANOTHER CANON PRODUCT.

Continuous paper jamming

This will be the LAST Canon printer I ever purchase. Have had it less than a year and it is jamming every other print job. Goodbye Canon. I am divorcing you.

CANT GIVE IT ZERO STARS OR I WOULD

IT HAS AN INSATIABLE APPETITE FOR PAPER. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PRODUCT THIS COMPANY HAS EVER TURNED OUT. DO THEY ROAD TEST THIS RUBBISH BEFORE THEY SEND IT OUT TO VENDORS??

Another cartridge guzzler

We sold our last copier because the ink was expensive so we thought we would find something more economical? Hardly. We do not use the ink very often, but I guess it just sucks up the juice when it sits for long periods of time. Have not used in for many months and tried to print today, but 3 different cartridges were empty. What sucks is I try to keep everything in black and white to preserve the color, but what good does that do? It does the job and it wasn't too expensive, however, it is almost like they make their money off the cartridges in the long term. They cant be happy to keep it minimal and have a customer for life.

Worst Printer I've Owned

Bought this printer in hopes of having something nice and of good quality. I have had nothing but issues with it and won't be buying another Canon printer. It takes 8 plus minutes for it to print off the first picture. I had it take 15 minutes once. If you have more than 3 pieces of photo paper in the back tray, it can not grab one, so you have to constantly watch it and add more photo paper. The quality of the pictures is nothing to write home about. You have to always go wake it up before you can print anything. Only good thing I can say about this printer is it copys black and white just fine.

Worst printer ever

I have owned numerous Canon printers over several decades because they've alwas been reliable. This is the worst piece of junk of every printer of every brand I've owned. I've spent more time trying to get it to work than I have printing. It's still less than a year old but only worked halfway decently for a couple of months. I take very good care of my equipment, but this thing stops printing every few days & troubleshooting is almost impossible.

I like this product.

This printer has a smaller footprint than my last model. Produces good color and is quick enough for my purposes. I only wish the output tray would always automatically retract at shutdown.

Not working one year later.

One year ago, I bought this printer. I do not print a lot so I didn't need to change out the ink cartridges until now. I bought all brand new cartridges and replaced the factory ones today. No problems, until the printer will not recognize the 280 PGBK XL cartridge. Error message 1660. Googled the error message and follow the how to's and still does not work.

Not Easy

This printer is not easy to install to your mobile devices. You need to make it where there is a one botton installation.

Great Features

I've been using this printer for 2 weeks. So far...GREAT!! Easy online setup. I quickly printed a picture using the Canon PRINT app from my phone; it's so easy and the print quality is amazing! Document printing is also easy and allows me to print 2-sided which I use a lot. A downside of this option is the amount of time allowed to let the ink dry before printing the 2nd side. I understand, but my previous PIXMA did not take as long when printing 2-sided. With this said, the actual document printing is much faster with this printer. I appreciate the option of not closing the output tray every time I power down the printer. The individual ink tanks are the only way to go. My first PIXMA had the individual tanks and I'll never go back to using one tank for all colors...they are such a waste. The price of these tanks is ridiculous. I've tried other brands and not had much good luck...so I'll continue to buy the Canon. There's much more to this printer; I haven't had a chance to use all of the features, but am looking forward to it.

I like it.......But

Not too shabby. I purchased this printer because it was the closest one to my old MG 7120 (a dynamite printer, not the same, but close. Print quality is very good if you remember that the printer is primarily for a max print size of 5 x 7 some idiotic 16:9 format otherwise it gobbles ink and wastes paper. Resolution for an 8 x 10 is not quite as good as the MG 7120. It is fairly quiet and pretty quick on start up. Document printing is precise and has excellent clarity.

Easy to use, but prints slow from WiFi

I bought the TS8120 a month ago, when my MG7520 (which I had had for several years and really liked died. Setup was fairly easy, as was connecting to our home network. I have not used it "wired" yet, as it works fine with WiFi, but printing at times is painfully slow. The MG7520 printed extremely slow via WiFi also, to the point where I did not use WiFi with that printer, but it was quite fast using the USB connection. I have not tried that yet with the TS8120, which attests to its better WiFi print speed, though still too slow for my taste. The scanning feature works well, and copying is very easy and fast. I have not tried photo printing yet. If you aren't too concerned with print speed, it's a very nice printer at a very reasonable price.

Good printer

This printer prints and scans well and easily. I am not a tech-savvy person, but I found it simple to set up. I had some trouble getting clear scanned images, but the Canon techs walked me through the solution and I'm very happy with the result.

So Far, Awful

Still waiting to see it run. Won't connect to Wi-Fi; Canon Support Useless; last Canon printer took over 4 hours Canon Support over the phone and they still couldn't get it connected. This one is the replacement and it's made of thin cheap plastic. Don't know if I will ever get it to work... Have to have my Techie take a look and pay him hundreds of $ for the privilege of looking at it. Called Support today and they're closed. Lot of help that is... I'm so disappointed and FRUSTRATED...

Poor Software undermines a decent printer

I have owned this printer for 6 months. It will not maintain a connection to my computer, to my network or to my phone. It fails to scan or print repeatedly. I can get it to print after 10 minutes of fooling around with it, and then immediately try another print and it will fail. Every time. There is nothing wrong with my computer. The printer software does not work.

eco fix in settings for offline printer

Yesterday I install this PIXMA TS8120. It was an easy install and all went well and I printed a page with the wireless setup. After 4 hours the printer with to sleep and I had to touch the printer window to wake it up before I could print again with wireless. I called canon support and he had me change the eco settings on the printer from 4 hours to sleep to never sleep. It was that simple and now the printer stays awake and ready to print. Also, very happy that this printer is smaller than the canon printer that I replaced.

2nd Canon Printer

Have had printer up and running for less than a week. My last Canon PIXMA MG6400 Series suddenly just died--I think it was 5 yrs old or so. This new printer is , of course, higher tech so that may be why I could not set it up by myself, as I did the first Canon.I have only used the printer and scanner from my desktop. Haven't used from my laptop or smaller device yet. It does seem much quieter than my previous one. I am fond of Canon products, own a CanoScan 5600 and an older Canon digital video camera. I like the fact that Canon products are said to be made in USA. I hope that is so as I noticed the "Getting Started" pamphlet states it was printed in Thailand.

Nice Color Prints but Frustrating to Use

I have used Canon printers for many years and have found them to function well in my small business; however, this printer was a BIG disappointment. The first one was defective and after spending several hours trying to get it to work, I called Canon support and they determined it was defective. To Canon's credit, they sent me another printer, but documentation is so poor that I am unable to get the printer to work efficiently, so I am returning it. Shame on Canon for not providing better documentation in clear English for their large English speaking market.
