Simple flash solution
You can always pop a cheapish canon flash onto the hotshoe to solve the problem of shadowing... works for me.

a bit flawed...but a nice camera extra
works great for landscapes and situations where the flash is not needed. interiors are difficult because the lens creates a shadow when the flash is used and you have to zoom in to lose the shadow. then you lose the benefits of the wide angle.

Very decent wide angle lens
An excellent lens. Comes with a nice pouch and lens cover. I also bought a third party wide angle lens, which has an even wider view, but the vignetting on this lens is much less. The Canon lens also is also much better at minimzing flare. Overall, built with high quailty and good performance, but may need to zoom in slightly to keep the corners of the picture from being cut off.

Good add-on for tight quarters
This lens is a great add-on for the S3. I use it on about half the pictures I take now, because the wider angle allows me to capture the scene as my eyes see it. For close quarters in the car or boat it's excellent! The major downside is that the lens throws a shadow on every picture taken when the built-in flash is activated, so it's not as useful indoors as it should be. This is a bummer because this is one of the major reasons I bought this lens!
