Purchased for a recent dive trip to Grand Cayman and it was very easy to use. I was most impressed with the fact that I ordered it and it arrived so promptly. I was also so impressed with the customer service that I contacted the department supervisor. The person knew exactly what my needs were and was amazingly helpful.

Tried to use another camera designed for underwater use but images were poor, even on land. Decided to use my own camera with this housing since I am so familiar with it. Followed the instructions carefully, esp. removing the camera's own strap. Terrified, but it worked each time - pictures and movies were great. Our snorkeling guide was skeptical but the housing was perfect even at 20 feet. The only drawback is that if I ever lose or break the camera itself, the housing will not fit another model which is too bad. Everything was included, instructions clear and I got it on sale. Much better than the other options - new camera or plastic baggy-type cover.

I wanted to take a camera to the beach and snorkeling while on a Caribbean cruise. I tried waterproof cameras but the images on land were so poor, I sent them back and tried this. If you are familiar with your camera's buttons, you will be in good shape. Followed the loading instructions, including removing the camera's own strap. Tested it in the bathtub with tissue before real use. It was great - used it two separate times in salt water, sand, etc., and it did not fail. It did get some interest from people wondering what it was & the snorkeling guide frankly scoffed, having seen other similar housing brands. It works, it's your own camera and except for the fact that it only fits one specific camera which had better never die, it is worth the investment if you must waterproof your camera.

I am replacing this case and camera with another SD1200 and 29 housing due to the fact that this housing is very, very buoyant. I was always fumbling to get the camera back into my hands to grab a picture while diving. Long story short; I lost both last summer while diving. Floated like a balloon off my wrist, we searched all around even topside with boat and never found it. The SD 1200 IS takes wonderful vivid pics. That's why I am replacing with exact setup. This time I will use weights on the camera housing.

I bought this case specifically for recreational scuba diving and used it a week after receiving it, in Alaska's Resurrection Bay. The case is sturdy, flawlessly transparent, opens & closes easily with minimal effort, and the funtion buttons were very easy to manipulate both bare-handed topside, and with cold water neoprene gloves down to 65' in 48*F water. The case is rated waterproof to -130ft, but my deepest dive this outing was -65ft, and it worked great. The o-ring was easy to remove, lube & replace and from the time I encased my camera until removing it 3-1/2 days later, it stayed dry; both topside in the rain & spray, and sub-surface to -65ft. One should be familiar with the camera's function buttons before using the case, as you're not going to read the case button icons after entering the water. I did not use the movie function this weekend, so have no report on sound quality using this case. One should also take note to keep rain drops & sea spray off the lens face/cover, or your topside pics will be blurred. Overall I am pleased with this purchase, and would recommend this case those wanting to waterproof their Canon PowerShot SD1200IS. This review reflects one weekend of Alaska diving; my next review will be from Kona... we'll see if warmer temps make any difference. :)
