When I tried to test this product in a sink full of water, everythng's fine except it was hard to open it after the test. The lubricant gel is a must to be applied around the rubber seal to make it so easy to open again. Best way is to squeeze enough gel on the seal and carefully and evenly spread the gel with your fingers without stretching the rubber seal. When the camera is loaded into this housing, it is quite heavy but not much. For me, it's just fine. I just use the strap for easy handling and carrying. When shooting under water, wrap the strap around your arm and hand to avoid blocking the lens with the strap. Without the flash diffuser on, the ligh is uneven making it dark on the lower half of the photo because of the protruding bulky lens housing. Remember that this is an air/water tight housing, the battery easily heats up. I tried shooting for more than an hour continuously under and on water surface. After the underwater shoot and took a shower with the camera housing to rinse the salt stuff off initially, the camera was hot when I opened the housing and battery drained faster than using the camera without the housing. Battery could explode when using the camera for a very long time with the housing. Have first used the product in Key West, FL for snorkeling, jet ski, parasailing, and in the swimming pool. Good stuff for a great vacation!

I am very happy with this housing! First, it has cool colors. Then my G12 fits incredible well and all the function buttons all work very well. I really like the way the lens is set back from the outer glass so you can get a view above and below the water. I have only shot fish in a pond so far but this camera housing will open up other opportunities for photo in and around the water. Oh and the price is right.

Bought this housing to take my G12 snorkeling in Hawaii, and it worked great. Not too large, and all functions are accessible. I found the strap provided was useful for carrying when on land, but it was annoying in the water. It's not long enough or convenient to have around my neck when snorkeling, and too long and floating in the way when not around my neck. Preferred to use the short wrist strap from the camera that had a sliding lock, which I transferred to the housing. Also needed all 4 of the accessory weights to get neutral buoyancy in salt water. Always had a silica gel pack in the housing and had no condensation issues. Only used to 15 foot depth.
