I had to download and install the driver a couple of times from the Delkin website before it worked correctly. It downloaded slowly the first few times, after reinstalling the driver it downloaded BLAZINGLY fast! But it crashed my Macbook Pro every time I use it. I have tried "ejecting" it from the system and just removing it and every time my screen goes dark and I am told in 10 different languages that I need to hold down the power button until the system shuts down. I have emailed Delkin but have never heard back from them. It is incredibly fast, but annoyingly unreliable for me. Maybe it is just a Mac issue or user error. The recommendation is for when it is working properly.

No more "small" boxes with cables! It works just fine but...do not eject the card from the menu bar. I did it only the first time and I got the gray screen of death on a MacBook Pro. Eject the memory card in the finder.

This item has a good use with fast transfer rate and convenient transfer from CF cards to the OS, but is designed poorly. Causes my Mac to crash requiring a cold boot with no other option. Does not fit snugly in the Card Express slot and seems very flimsy. Used in conjuction with a delkin SD to CF adapter. Overall, I might recommend it but not with great enthusiasm.

When this thing works, it's great...however, several times I've received the 'gray screen of death' and a 'you need to reboot' message from my Macintosh when I've gone to plug it in. I have no idea why this isn't compatible with OS X, but I'm not at all sure it isn't going to cause some sort of lasting harm to my system, so I'm backing things up more often than usual lately. Try it at your own risk!

This card is the only thing I've ever encountered that can cause a kernel panic on my macbook pro every single time it's plugged in. It's completely unusable.

I recently purchased a laptop and needed a way to load up my images from my flash card. Luckily I know experts at Adorama that referenced me to just the tool I needed. The flashcard adapter is easy to operate and there is no stalling in transferring the RAW and JPEG images. Highly recommend.

there is no need for me to write some sort of glowing praise and adoration for this product... it does the job that is intended just fine. When I researched various CF card adapters, this one appeared to be the right choice for my needs, inexpensive, simple to use and relatively durable ... that is what I got. It has worked with all the CF cards that I have tried so far (various brands up to 8gb)and cooperates well with my MacBook Pro, so glowing praise ... It does what it is supposed to for an acceptable price

I wanted an interface that can download images faster than my USB connection was capable. The new PC I purchased did not have a PCMCIA card slot (to use my old reader in) and I needed to purchase an Express card. Was very surprised at how much faster it can handle the images from my 2 and 4 GB cards over the alternatives. This card was plug and play without any issues or problems.

I was having long waits with USB2 compact flash adapters and finally found this item and it reduced the download time at least 70%. With an 8GB card it really makes a big difference.

The ExpressCard 34 enables the fastest data transfer from a CompactFlash memory card to the new Apple MacBook Pro and PC laptops with an ExpressCard slot. It works in both the 54 mm and 34 mm ExpressCard slots and can transfer your data up to 20 MB per second. Its small compact size makes it the perfect tool for photographers on the go.
ExpressCard is a hardware standard replacing CardBus, both developed by the PCMCIA. The host device supports both PCI Express and USB 2.0 connectivity through the ExpressCard slot, and each card uses whichever the designer feels most appropriate to the task. The cards are hot-pluggable.
