Questions & Answers

GERALD W C : Can i use the card after the cloud expires?LINDA B : I have actually never used the eyefi cloud... it works well without it.ROBERT O : Yes. It will still work as a memory card and the wireless function will allow you to connect to a wifi enabled device and download the files over wifi. The cloud is just a storage option.MANAN G : Yes, you can.ANTHONY R : Yes. The card works fine in 2 (TWO) digital cameras. Months after I bought it. The Cloud offer is a TRIAL offer. The Cloud offer is Trial, which can be converted to a rental/monthly/charge or a purchase.
FRANK C : Can this be used in a laptop?GARY H : If the software app can be loaded on your laptop, then yes it should work.JAMES V : You may definitely download the images from the card to your laptop but as far as I can see the wifi connectivity does not work correctly.LINDA B : It is mean to be used in a camera in place of of a regular SD card to store the photos when you take them. It works wirelessly with your smartphone or computer/ laptop so that you can download the photos stored on it without having to remove the card or use a card reader.ENRIQUE E : Hello, yes can be used in laptop. I'll just put it into my laptop to download photos to computer. You can set it up to send photos wirelessly to either phone or tablet as well. I set mine up to send to phone.SHAELYN B : Yes, it can be used just like any other SD card in a laptop!NICHOLAS S : yes, if you have a sd card slot or card reader.ANTHONY R : The answer is yes. But, the Eye-Fi only has a range of about 50 feet from it to my Dell Laptop or 50 feet to my Kindle Fire.DICK E : To my knowledge it can be used anywhere a SDHC card can be used, so yes it can.
ANTHONY R : What is the range/Distance of WiFi Eaquiped Camera to WiFi Router? I have a Moultrie Outdoor Grail Camera, about 135 Yards away from the WiFi Router. The question is will it communicate?ANDREW R : Range will vary depending on local topography, your specific equipment, building construction materials, etc. Max range with most WiFi routers is approximately 60-70ft with clear line of sight. Actual range will vary widely.

Worked great.

I have only tried the card once. It was easy to set up and initially worked great. Transferred my jpeg's to my iphone with no issue. I only ran a test, that's the reason for 4 stars. I'm looking forward to vacation next month so I can have some time to really test it.

For Camera -> IPAD/Android works well. Otherwise get the MobiPRO

Got this replace an old EyeFi that worked perfectly, but bricked by the manufacturer (thanks for nothing!). Setup was easy, but it randomly drifts in and out of connection. It creates an Ad-Hoc betweeen your device and the card. Up and down, up and down. The MobiPro will actually connect (somewhat solidly) to an Access Point, in addition to everything the base Mobi does. Much more consistent connection for high volume photography. Buy the MobiPro! Adorama was quick with shipping and a pleasure to deal with...

"the one you have with you"

That phrase is used to describe the ideal camera. I think it can be expanded to include you smartphone, tablet and simple laptops. This Eye-Fi card adds Wifi to equipment that lack the feature. It works, after simple setup, well with cloud services and can then share and save photos easily. Don't new cameras have WiFi already? Yes, how many have an favorite old camera (3 or 4 yrs old), this will add a new level of 'excitement'.

Worth Every Penny.

I unpacked it as soon as I got it. At first it was a little confusing on how to set it up, but as soon as I got it to work is it was like having the camera directly connected to my I pad. The only problem I noticed is that after a minute or 2 my ipad would disconnect from the card, but I fixed it by changing the setting "never disconnect when active" for something like that. You wont be able to transfer RAW images only JPEG but a the highest resolution and it takes less than 2 seconds. I love this thing and I'll be using it all the time specially when on the field and I want to share my photos on social media.

Works well depending on use. Not for everyone

I purchased this on May 2, 2016 to do portraits for a Mother's Day event. The following is the experience with the card. When I first tried to use the card, it picked up on my in home internet and worked fine. I was able to transfer the photos to my ipad. Then, I turned off my home wifi and tried to use the card with no internet connection. It worked for a little while, then stopped. I was very upset so I decided to take my camera, ipad and the card with me to work the next day so that I could have someone at the Eyefi company walk me through the steps to see what I was doing wrong. On the to work , ( my husband was driving), I decided to try to see if I could make a connection. I turned on the camera, then the ipad, went to my settings, choose the Eyefi card connection, connected, then took a picture. To my surprise, it worked!. I took several more shots and they all were transferred to my ipad. I was very excited and happy. ( Lesson #1 Learned - in order for this to work, you MUST turn on the CAMERA FIRST, then turn on the ipad. ) So, the day of my event came, I started shooting, and the photos were being transferred very nicely. Then, I had a break between photos. When I started shooting again, the card was disconnected. I had to go back to my settings and choose the eyefi connection to connect the card. I keep having to do this again and again because the breaks between photos. (Only good thing is that any photos taken will the card is disconnected, will all transfer when the connection is re-established). At one point it ask me to enter the WiFi code to connect. That was the last straw for me since the code is a bit long and I could not stop to go find the card with the code and then enter the number. So, in the end, i decided to not use it. Conclusion: This card works well if (1) you make sure to turn on the camera first, then turn on the devise you will be using to transfer the files. (2) Once connected, you will need to keep shooting because the card will disconnect not long after your last shot. This is where the problem comes in. When it disconnects, you will need to keep reconnecting it. Depending on how long you remain disconnected, you will have to reenter the pass-code to get the card connected again. When the card works, it is great. It did not fully work for me because of the gaps between shooting time. If you are shooting consistently (i.e high volume photos where there is little gaps between each person being shot, this will work very well for you. Hope this helps. Carol M - Maryland

Works well, but slow and disconnects quickly

I bought this so I could use my DSLR for my kids sporting events, and post them easily at the event, and for that, it works well. That said, 4gb is too small to shoot RAW+JPG for action shots, so I wish I would have gotten a larger card...but. I didn't want to pay the huge price for a larger card. 4gb seemed like a good size/price to give it a try. Again, I'm shooting action shots at sporting events, and the card is pretty slow in read and write speeds. For the massive up charge on these cards, they should be faster. On the plus side though, it does transfer photos fairly quickly, to my phone/iPad, but seems to disconnect quickly. Probably to save camera battery, but I wish that was a customizable setting. It is great to be able to see if a shot it truly in focus or not. Sometimes you get that great shot, but realize that the focus was on something other than what you intended, and this really helps to determine that.

Does everything advertised

I did a lot of research on wifi enabled sd cards and this one had the best reviews. Not exactly plug-in-play but the wifi config instructions are pretty easy to follow. I highly recommend.

Easy enough to setup, and very very cool

We put this in our Nikon D7000, and paired it to my wife's iPhone 5. Easy enough to setup, and works great! Only three caveats: 1) Somehow we don't have the "share to Facebook" button in EyeFi Mobi that we should. So we have to transfer the photos from Mobi to the phone gallery, and share from there. 2) If we transfer photos throughout a day of shooting, we end out transferring the same photos multiple times. 3) I had turned on the EyeFi cloud upload option, but that quickly burned thru a month of cell data, so we're leaving that off from now on!

Mobi vs Pro X2

I bought this eye-fi card so I can instantly share photos on facebook from my Fujifilm x100s camera. Since the camera lacks a built in wifi, this card solves this issue. The "Mobi" is very easy to setup with your iphone and ipad. The SD card comes with a unique number that you will need to type into the free app you download from the app store. Depending on your camera model, the eye-fi SD card will start broadcasting a wifi signal that you will need your iphone or ipad to connect to. Once connected, all JPEGs will start to transfer to your connected device. The reason why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the lack of control on what's being uploaded. The Pro X2 series allows hand picked JPEGs to upload to your phone. The Mobi version does not have this feature so you will have to wait till ALL the JPEGs are uploaded. This can be a real pain if you have taken hundreds of JPEGs and only want one to transfer to your phone. You can't with the Mobi but you can with the Pro X2 version. Why didn't I get the Pro X2? Because the Pro X2 only has a 16gb capacity while the Mobi has 32gb. I prefer a larger card when im on vacation. Pros of Mobi: *Easy to setup *Easy to use iphone app *Large 32gb capacity *Fast read/write speeds Cons of Mobi: *Can't choose photo to upload *Drains camera battery Pros of Pro X2: *Able to select which JPEG to upload *Able to upload RAW as well Cons of Pro X2: *Smaller capacity size of 16gb At the time of this review, there is a beta version of Eye-Fi software for your PC that allows wifi transfers to your PC with the Mobi. This was exclusive to the Pro X2 for the longest time. Who is this card for? For consumers looking for an easy way to share your JPEGs via your phone. Just lacks control on whats being uploaded to your phone.

Make your photography easier

This product was better than I expected! I now can transmit my files from my Canon 5D MarkIII to my HTC One Max, which has a 5.9in screen. Much better to see the photos in real time on my phone.

Great For Instant Sharing of Images

I purchased this memory card because I wanted a way to share images (whether from photo shoots or photo walks) on social media without having to do a screenshot of my camera's LCD. It was easy to setup on my Canon 60D and my iPhone 4. Had a little trouble with it getting the devices to connect to one another at first but then it worked the way I expected it to. Please keep in mind that this model will only transfer JPG files to your phone/tablet, not RAW files. I like the fact that once the images are on your phone you can send them to friends (or low-res proofs to clients) via email, text, or DropBox; or you can post them to social media with ease. My two issues is that (1) my memory card reader didn't recognize this card at all, leaving me to transfer the files to my computer by way of USB cable and Lightroom. (NOTE: I don't know if this is with all memory card readers) And (2) because it uses Wi-Fi, you have to wait until the transfer is complete to use it to share the images (or use your phone's 3G/4G in the meantime). In the end, I'd recommend it to the photographer that wants to share what they captured from their camera's instantaneously.

Buy it!

I have been using Eye-Fi cards from the time they were invented, and was waiting impatiently for a card that would work without the Internet ,on an outdoor location.Though the Pro card did have a direct mode which worked well ,Mobi is all I need.Simple to set up ,works great with my iPad.I shoot on Raw+ Jpg,and transfer only JPGs to iPad to review. I have been using wi-fi transmitter with all my canon slrs, costing $699, and here comes a simple sd card which may not give live view or transfer from a longer range but seems to transfer fast enough and is rather tenacious! If the wifi link is interrupted due to camera being out of range,or being switched off in between transfer,it resumes transfer automatically when camera is turned on and brought closer to the iPad .i am using the ShutterSnitch though instead of the Eye-Fi App on the iPad

Waste of money

I went out a few times with this card using a Fuji X100s. The first thing that is annoying is getting the card to show up on a iPhone then when it does it's always losing connection. You must shoot either jpeg or jpeg + raw as the card won't read the embedded jpeg from the raw files. This was before I even went out to shoot some photo's. So I went out and used the camera as I normally would and what a disaster that was when using it. Maybe I was expecting more but be prepared to wait for the photo's to show up on your iOS device. it would take upto 30 seconds to a minute to show up and thats if I got lucky it showed up at all. Once it got to the phone it was great as I could look at the photo and zoom in. The worst part and what made my mind up was when I got home was #1 the Lexar card reader couldn't read any of the photo's. I ended up having to use the camera to upload the Raw files to the computer. #2 was only 15 out of 50 photos were transferred over as the other photo's just disappeared from the card. So as far as I can tell the one I have is no good and a waste of money. Buy a name brand SD card as I never lost photo's from one of those to date.
