Slow but it does the job
I use this as a backup storage device when travelling to store my pictures. I will take 2,000 to 3,000 pictures sometimes and need to back them up to ensure I do not lose them or to free up memory cards. Only knock is downloading from memory cards is slow. Insert a 8GB memory card to download before heading out to dinner and it should be done when you get back.

limitations
I was using the external storage as a file dump. The compact memory card slot's male adapters failed to endure the constant use. The small male adapters weaken over time and bent. This decay caused a failure to properly line up with the compact memory card's female adapters on insertion.
The other slots are functioning porperly as is the unit. I still use it for smaller cards. Although I would not purchase this item again. I would spend the extra cash and purchase one that provides a veiwing of your files.

Simple looking with great function,
This storage device is simple, works great, allows for positive file transfer to PC which frees up your memory cards. The only downfall is the lack of viewing your pix, but I can live with that. I will puchase a more advance design next time and I will continue to use the external hard drive.

Plain and simple...
If you're the kind of person who needs a simple backup storage, then is product will provide excellent storage. If your shooting and producing high quality and large pixels, I would suggedt a bigger shtorage capcity with a viewing screen. Otherwise it serves its purpose for me. Once my work is downloaded, my brother will transfer the files onto a laptop, allowing me to erase and reformat my cards once the transfer has been verified visually.
