I have a 27" monitor just so I can clearly see details in photos. I bought this to scan some books with photos. But the Book Pavilion software with this scanner opens in a window that uses less than 1/3 of my monitor, and doesn't allow me to resize the window. I am forced to open the pages in another program to view them and determine if I need to make adjustments to the scan. This adds extra time to the process. It's annoying to have to do this just because the software programmers, in their infinite wisdom, won't let me use my full screen. 

If you're just scanning text, this probably won't matter. For that purpose, it is an easy to use and fast scanner that I would recommend.
