I was a long time owner of an ipod. 10 to 1 the SanDisk player sounds way better. If youre an audio fool and sold on commercial ads, buy the apple. If your looking for quality on sound and specifically wearing for quality listening, buy the SanDisk. Not just the player, even their memory cards and other product always meets and exceeds their specifications.

I bought this in 2015 at a Best Buy. Terrific battery life. There are months where I leave it in storage where it barely looses any power at all! With the MicroSD card slot my 8 GB model can handle an extra 64 GBs of music. While I've often thought about getting a memory card for it the 8 GBs of internal storage has been more than enough to store 600 of my jazz .MP3s (320 Kbps). The screen is a bit scuffed up after all these years but I can still read the display without an issue. The volume control does limit your levels to "25" which is fine unless you're in a noisy environment. Like public transit, busy street, etc. While the clip works fairly well I do sometimes have problems getting the player to stay where I want it to. I mostly just tuck it away in an otherwise empty pocket. I've noticed that controls can be pressed accidentally if objects are in the pocket as well. But I think there is a lockout feature preventing that from happening. The FM radio is a nice touch too. This thing supports way more audio formats that I will never use. When I bought this there were other capacities made as well. The higher the internal storage translated to a lower capacity MicroSD memory card capacity. Kind of a bummer because I was hoping to get their 64 GB version with the option to add a 64 GB memory card to it. But that top end model didn't have the external card slot. One thing worth noting though is if you're eyesight isn't the best you may have trouble reading the scrolling text for song titles, artists, albums that cycles through automatically for each track being played. Sport mode has stopwatch, timer, saved logs, and delete logs options. In the Music setting you get: Shuffle, Artists, Albums, Songs, Playlists to help sort out your tunes. For playlists there are 3 "Go Lists" to choose from. Also has repeat option. You can add songs to each of the "Go Lists" from the player itself. I've never used it so I have no idea what limits there might be.

Love it. Perfect for learning French and listening to podcasts. I don't use the eclosed earbuds as they come out when I walk but Avantree's over-the-ear wired earbuds are inexpensive and also fantastic. Long battery life. Love the very short charging cable.
