Definitely faster than USB 2.0 and is helpful in use in Notebook Computer. Downloading RAW photo files (large files) with this device is a breeze.

I use this card to download my RAW photos on my laptop and it has given me a reliable speed over my USB connection. This card crashes on my computer a few times and weak connection point with the slot which sometime recognized my card and other time don't.

This a great card reader and downloads my pictures quickly. Much quicker than my old card reader. It took a few tries before my computer recognized it but now it seems to recognize it as soon as I plug it in. Well worth the money [...]

I purchased this reader thinking it would work great with my brand new 17" Apple Macbook Pro i7 computer. However, EVERY TIME I tried to transfer images using it my MBP kernal panicked (crashed). Apple replaced my Logic Board and Express Card slot twice and I received the same result every time. It even crashed the Genius Bar MBP. Apple finally told me that this product is NOT COMPATIBLE with their computers and advised that I return the reader for a different brand. I'm exchanging it for the Lexar Reader and we'll see how it goes from there. DO NOT BUY THIS READER IF YOU HAVE AN APPLE PRODUCT!!! I should also mention that Sandisk's customer service was of NO help. [...] Be warned...this product will crash your MBP.
