Questions & Answers

bill c : is this card good to use with a Nikon d40 to shoot girls field hockey?RONALD J : Yes, it reads and writes fast.....MIKE W. B : The very best way to cripple your new digital camera is to not pay attention to which card you are purchasing. it needs to have a FAST write time. Other stats are less important. A card like this should enable you to use burst modes even in RAW well. I have had very good success with SanDisk in general and the Extreme versions as well. Watch for double packs with two on a card. I have seen a case at BH where a double pack was priced on sale for the same price as the same card on a single pack. So it pays to look carefully. But most of all look at the write speed of the card or you will end up making action photography very frustrating waiting for the camera to catch up writing to the card. It is amazing how people fixate on the size of the card and do not always triple check the write speed which is so very important to camera operation while shooting.WAYNE M : The concern is not so much the subject as it is the rate of transfer to the card. The camera sends the data to a buffer and the buffer transfer the data to the card. The faster the card the more efficient the transfer. A card slower than the transfer rate of the camera might cause the camera to hang-up until the buffer is emptied. A card much faster than the transfer rate of the camera is a waste of money because the camera will only transfer at it's rate not the card rate. I don't know the transfer rate of the D40 so you should match the card to the camera if you are doing a lot of continuous mode shots during the hockey game. If you only take single shots and you are doing it slowly the transfer rate can almost be ignored. Check the camera manual for compatible cards and transfer rate. Buy accordingly.

Never a problem/issue

I've used several brands of memory cards in the past, and for the money, I'm convinced this card is the way to go. Never a problem/issue.

Excellent digital card, excellent service

This is a very good digital card for my Nikon D7200, which has a much faster write/read capability than my earlier camera, the Nikon D7000. San Disk is a very reliable name, too. Additionally, I thought Adorama's mail service to be excellent.

Great SD card for fast cameras

I am using this in a Sony A6300. It's fast enough for 4K and the 11fps burst shooting this camera can do. It's big enough as long as you are dumping photos and videos to a hard drive regularly. Will be ordering another as a spare.

the card does keep up in this shooting environment

To be honest, I bought this card based on a couple bench tests I read, and the camera manufacturer recommended it as well. The most demanding thing I do is shoot at a continuous frame rate when photographing dressage routines. The buffer is limited when shooting RAW (Nikon d750), so it's necessary to have a fast card so the buffer can dump its contents onto it when slower parts of the routine come along, such as when the horse is at a walk. When the routine calls for trot or canter, the buffer is cleared and the camera is ready. Anyway, the card does keep up in this shooting environment.

Fast and Always Reliable!

I've been buying SanDisk cards for over 10 years now and have never had a problem with a single one. I recently upgraded to a D810 and decided i needed a bigger card for the bigger files. This card is extremely fast and worth every penny!

Stable at high bitrates

I have two of these Sandisk cards and use them with a hacked GH2 that delivers high bitrate footage. The cards have no problem handling the higher bitrates. Very stable.

Quick and reliable

I've used these cards for a year in DSLRs. Haven't had an issue with reliability. When shooting quick sequences, the camera is noticeably faster emptying the buffer onto the card. I've noticed it takes less time to copy files from these cards when transferring images to a computer.

House at night

I needed to take 5 images at different exposures as quickly as I could so that when combined the result would be a smooth rendition with great HDR imagery. Compared to my previous card the ExtremePRO SDHC card was much faster with great image quality. Sample image available.
