Do NOT buy this scanner! It will work for awhile. The battery will fail AFTER the warranty period expires. You won't be able to find a replacement battery EASILY online! You'll be directed to some sort of "service center!" The service center will either tell you they don't service Epson products, no surprise! OR, if the service center can get a new battery from Epson, the battery will cost MORE than a completely new scanner! The whole process can be describe as nothing more than a scam! How can the battery cost MORE than a brand new scanner?

I purchased the ds-80 scanner from sams club and have had problems from day one. The scanner will not work consistently with my laptop computer. The error messages keeps claiming that the scanner either cannot connect or "is busy". After three calls to the technical department, they said open the app and do not use the scan button on the unit. Multiple changes to the computer settings. They got it to work temporarily however it would stop working soon thereafter. My computer is current and works with all my other devices except this scanner.

Works well on most 8-1/2" wide paper. Found scanning receipts is another story. The thin paper does not go through the scanner vary well, which was why I purchased it. If you plan on normal scanning which does not include sales receipt, awesome printer.

I just bought this product to see how much this device will impact my work life, and my goodness, it did. Not only does it connect via wifi but the ability to be portable and convenient at all levels. I love this product because it's ability to take it anywhere and basically fits anywhere. Definitely would recommend this product.

I purchased this two weeks ago and wish I had bought it sooner. Love this Scanner, Priced reasonable and it was and is well worth the money! Would definitely purchase again. I run a tax office and will tell everyone that this scanner is exceptional! A good investment!!

I wanted to love this scanner - it was everything I was looking for and had owned other Epson peripherals for years. I have not had this scanner more than three months and it has quit working. Too much to spend on a product that stops charging/scanning after 90 days...

Set up of the scanner was easy and very quick. This scanner is set up to my iMac laptop, that I bought just a year ago, using the USB cable and works perfectly and the scan is crystal clear.

I've used this now for a month. I scan books of music which I've cut the bindings off of, save them to pdf, and then use a program to put the scans on a large monitor on my electronic organ. The music is much larger than the typical book, making it easier to read from a distance. And I don't have the issue of having to try to hold large books open to certain pages. The only "con" I've seen so far is that Scan Document Pro will sometimes throw an error of "not enough disk space" when there's tons of unused disk space. I'm guessing there's a memory leak somewhere. But it doesn't happen enough to be too bothersome.

I travel for business, and for security I do not like to scan documents at a hotel. This little43 scanner is easy to pack, and it is uinvaluable for me on business trips. Very easy to use.

Had this a week now. Best features are it is very small, and fairly easy to use. However the software on a Mac is unreliable, often crashing or giving error messages (sometimes when nothing went wrong, for example it often report a failure to overwrite even when its not overwriting anything and all's well). It is fairly quick to scan a page but will never achieve the advertised page rate as that's just the scan speed, it also spend several seconds each page processing on USB and worse, when wireless it will often sit for up to 15 or 30 seconds before it actually starts scanning each page even in a known good and quiet wireless environment making the wireless functions suitable only for occasional use. The fact that it needs a switch moved to change between wired and wireless is a bit of a pain as well. In short, the hardware seems mostly well designed, and its certainly portable (and easy to stow if its used out of an office location) but, at least on OS X, the software feels only half-baked. I hope there will be updated software.
