This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I've been using the Epson ES-C220 for the past couple of weeks and I must say, it's an impressive piece of technology. The setup was straightforward, and I was able to get it up and running in no time. The compact design fits perfectly on my desk, and the auto document feeder is a game-changer for efficiently scanning multiple pages. The scan quality is excellent, capturing clear and crisp images every time. I've scanned everything from invoices to old family photos, and the results have been consistently great. The software is user-friendly and offers a variety of useful features. Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with this scanner and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable document scanner.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Meet the Epson WorkForce ES-C220, your new compact, speed-demon of a scanner that slides into your office like it belongs there. Small but mighty, this little gadget has an impressive résumé. Unboxing it felt like meeting a new colleague who actually knows what they're doing. Secure packaging? Check. Power cord, USB-C to USB 2.0 cable, and a "Start Here" guide? Check, check, and check. Setting it up was almost too easy-aside from a quick reboot during driver installation, it was smooth sailing on Windows. This scanner is like a caffeinated intern on their first day, tackling tasks with double-sided scanning at a brisk 30 pages per minute. While it had no issues gobbling up small stacks of documents, feeding it more than 15 pages at once resulted in a minor rebellion (aka paper jams). Stick to smaller batches, and you'll be golden. Wrinkled, creased and folded paper when through perfectly. The 600 dpi resolution captures details so well I could see paper fibers. Switching between document types is easy with its dual scanning options, making it as versatile as a Swiss Army knife. Epson's ScanSmart software is like that reliable friend who shows up to help you move. It's familiar, dependable, and offers everything from preview and reorder to image stitching, rotation, and cropping. Multiple file formats? Check. Cloud integration with Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive? Absolutely, though I didn't get around to testing those. The OCR functionality is impressively accurate, except for handwritten notes-which, let's face it, are tough for any scanner. For those wanting to go pro with advanced editing, you'll need extra software. You get the Invoice/Receipt Manager trial run before asking for a $99.99 commitment. Connectivity is where the ES-C220 feels aged. The lack of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi means you're physically tethered to each computer like it's 2010. USB-C to USB 2.0 is as modern as it gets here. I don't think this is a huge deal considering it's size. The paper guides feel flimsy and may throw in the towel after too many late nights at the office. In the grand scheme of home offices and light-to-moderate scanning duties, the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 is a top-notch addition to the team. Its compact design, high-speed dual-sided scanning, and handy software make it a trusty sidekick for both personal and professional tasks. Despite a few connectivity quirks and flimsy components, its performance and user-friendliness earn it a solid spot in your workspace.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. PROS: I've been using the Epson ES-C220 compact personal scanner for a few weeks now, and overall, it is a reliable, strong scanner. For a few years, I have used a competitor's more expensive scanner (you would recognize the competitor's name). Epson's compact form factor, high-quality and high-resolution scanning, and superior software, makes comfortable in recommending the ES-C220 over the competition, especially at its (Epson's) price point. The high-resolution scan capability, at 1,200 dpi (dots per inch), definitely meets my needs for various scanning projects in full color, grayscale, or black & white formats. For those who require OCR (Optical Character Recognition) functionality to convert scanned text into editable formats, this device performs exceptionally well. Although I used the scanner with Windows 11, it will work with macOS, too. Setting the scanner up using Linux OS will require some third-party software, but hey, if you're using Linux, you should be used to that. Another noteworthy feature is its ability to handle different paper sizes-from small receipts to legal-size documents-making it versatile for both personal use and in professional environments where document management is critical. The paper guides for the sides of the paper move smoothly and easily. I ran some cash register receipts through the scanner without closing the paper guides to the right width, and most of them went through without a problem. One or two ended up crooked and crunched up, but that is not the fault of the scanner - that was just my being lazy and not closing the guides. I did that for your benefit, though, because I know a few (a lot) of you out there are going to do the same thing - leave the paper guides as wide as they go and stick all document sizes through. ?? Connectivity options include USB 3.0 for fast data transfer and wireless capabilities that allow direct scans to cloud storage services or mobile devices via apps. These connectivity choices provide great flexibility depending on your specific needs, especially those of you who are mobile workers. The compact footprint of the scanner is a fantastic feature for those with limited space or who need to transport the scanner frequently. Its smaller size allows it to fit easily in tight spaces or small office spaces without taking up too much desk space. I have been focusing my comments on business use, but this space-saving scanner design is perfect for dorm rooms, apartments, or other areas where every inch counts. The small size also makes it easier to move or transport the product if needed. I really appreciate how easy-to-use and well-thought-out Epson's included ScanSmart software is; it corrects crooked feeds automatically and offers rotation options before saving your scans. Among the many available settings, you can configure ScanSmart to automatically name the scan file it creates; you can have it use its built-in optical character recognition (OCR) to extract a filename from the scanned text, or you can set it up to save the file with a pre-configured automatic name (e.g., yyyy_mm__dd_001, yyyy_mm__dd_002). The ScanSmart software allows for a broad spectrum of adjustments to the settings to get the best quality scans - more about this later. I found the features that allowed me to scan directly to a Word, PowerPoint, or Excel file were very useful. In my hands-on experience, the OCR capability didn't just meet but exceeded expectations. The precision in capturing even smudged or heavily creased receipts ensures that no detail is lost, saving you from manual entry errors and time-consuming corrections. Beyond simply archiving receipts, this functionality opens the door to seamless expense tracking and financial organization. With these benefits on hand, what could be a tedious chore evolves into a streamlined process. Whether you're managing personal finances or handling business expenses, this dynamic duo of hardware and software means better accuracy and less hassle - turning mountains of paperwork into decipherable data effortlessly. The scanner comes with a 30-day trial of Epson's Invoice/Receipt Manager software. For a small business owner used to manually tracking invoices and receipts, the Invoice/Receipt Manager software can be a big help in keeping accounts receivable/payable more manageable. This software can automatically sort and categorize receipts, generate comprehensive reports, and even sync with popular accounting programs like QuickBooks. The ease of having all your financial data organized in one place not only saves valuable time but also reduces the risk of errors typically associated with manual entry. Another benefit with Epson's Invoice/Receipt Manager is the secure cloud storage options to back up your financial documents and have them accessible from anywhere. This level of accessibility is beneficial for business owners who need to review their records or make quick financial decisions while on the go. The software includes customizable templates for invoices and receipts, allowing you to maintain your brand's identity. You can tailor the templates to fit specific client needs or industry requirements. One notable feature is its ability to batch-process multiple receipts at once. This saves considerable time compared to scanning each receipt individually. The user interface is intuitive; even those without extensive technical knowledge should be able to navigate it easily after a short learning period. The user settings of the Invoice Receipt Manager software are flexible. You can select up to about 30 predetermined fields to include in the Manager. The fields you include are what export to your accounting software. Unfortunately, the field names are not editable. But, with 30 different fields, including "description," "comment," and "other," you should be able to make it work. NOTE: Epson, if you are reading this, please add the ability to edit the "Item" (field) names in the Column Settings of the Settings. CONS: Not all my experience with the Epson ES-C220 compact personal scanner has been a glorious breath of fresh air. Two areas that need immediate attention became evident early on: a) changing the scan output path and b) the input and output feed guides. Switching the output path between looping the output to the front of the machine (the manual refers to this as "vertical") path and the "straight" path (output comes out of the bottom of the scanner onto the desk) is not very intuitive. A couple of times, it took two hands to move the mechanism into proper position while holding the scanner steady. The first time I switched it from looping to vertical, the spring load of the mechanism almost caused me to knock the scanner off the table (granted, I keep it near the edge of the table). Although the minimalistic manual had some pictures of the switch, moving the switch surprised me more than once. Because I used the scanner in loop/vertical path mode primarily, and straight/straight-through path mode infrequently, I had to pick up the scanner to look at the back of the scanner to remember how to activate the switch. The mechanism could be problematic for a small business where many people might use the scanner. If people are unfamiliar with it, they may try to force it into the vertical path and could damage the scanner. I'm not a designer, but if there is a way to put the output path switch on the top or front of the scanner, it might make it more intuitive. As it stands, I am confident that after owning the ES-C220 for a couple of months, someone would become familiar enough with manipulating the mechanism that it wouldn't take any extra thought to do so. Although most parts are sturdy, I'm not too confident about how long these bunny-ear paper guides on the feed tray and the single flip-up guide on the output tray will last as they seem quite flimsy compared to the other components. If someone packs away and sets up the scanner frequently-such as with a home office and workplace office-I can see those paper guides being broken quickly. Another challenge was in reducing the back side bleed-through. For those who want to reduce the ES-C220 bleed through, you'll need to open the ScanSmart software-->click settings gear at the top right-->click Scanner Settings-->click Scan Settings-->click the Advanced Settings tab-->select Text Enhancement radio button-->click Settings-->select Remove Spot Noise radio button-->move the slider all the way to High. That is a lot of digging and clicking for something that is a fairly common problem with scanners of any brand. One glaring inconvenience with the Epson ES-C220's design is the placement of its feed tray behind the output tray. This minor flaw can become a significant bottleneck in your workflow, especially when dealing with large batches of documents. You finish one set, and just as you're ready to load up the next batch, you realize you have to shuffle around or remove paper from the output tray first. It's an odd dance that interrupts your rhythm, breaking any momentum you'd built up. Overall, the Epson ES-C220 is an exceptional scanner for the price. With the included ScanSmart software, the ability to do looping or straight through scanning, bulk scanning, and the many other benefits I mentioned, this compact scanner is an ideal choice for home use or small business use.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Shipping was quick and secure, signature required for delivery. Packaging was simple and easily unpacked! No fighting to get it out of the box lol. This scanner was fairly easy to set up and get working. There was an issue installing drivers/software but was easily fixed with a device and computer restart. Smooth installation after that! A single page scan is completed very quickly! And can be initiated by scan button or via smart app. Quality of scan was decent and dpi can be adjusted easily. My favorite feature is the invoice/receipt manager! Self explanatory & customizable! Will greatly improve filing in the office and cut down on time spent in office! That feature alone would make this scanner a great investment! Overall, love it!

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Pros. Sleek compact design that can easily be placed on that one clear spot on your desk especially with dual scanning options where you can go from scanning 20 documents in what feels like seconds to scanning important cards/documents with no fear of damage by a quick pull of an easy to use handle that lets the scanner lean back for a brief break while its coworker the second scanning option takes over and just like before load your scanner the same way but now using the adjustable size guard set it to the correct size of the document you're scanning and then you need and press start. Just like the first employee that is now back it's break the scans were done quickly and with impressive detail with its 300dpi scan resolution. Quality dual sided scanning for that quick one scan per double sided sheet with no cutting in line of other papers getting an extra turn on the top loaded scanner roller coaster everyone gets an equal pass even if they are 2 sided. Cons include, no Bluetooth. I can deal with no screen, or wifi, but in 2024 something as simple as Bluetooth. Especially when a screen isn't needed to do that. Another con is that it doesn't support or at least have the option of a USB-C port where you can scan directly to your phone through a dual-ended USB-C port using the same app on desktop that they provide for Android and iPhone users. Last con as for the "plug and play" feature after installing recommended software every time I pressed the auto scan button my desktop's built-in scanning software would also load even when I set Epson smart scan as the default program. Not a pro or con just some things to keep in mind as I found out after setting up and testing out also advantage of all the services of the software. Epson smart scan trial period of invoice/receipt manager so it's a feature of the software and not the product itself so take that into account with what you need and will use this for. READ THE START GUIDE! It's like a hidden Epson tape hide and seek you need to play to get to unlock (untape) all its cool features and all the fun pop-up bits that help you with all types of scans. The top three features of the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 are its dual scanning options, allowing for quick and efficient processing of various document types; its compact and sleek design, making it an ideal fit for any workspace; and its impressive 300 dpi scan resolution, ensuring high-quality scans every time. These features make it a versatile and reliable tool for both personal and professional use.

Overall, the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Compact Desktop Scanner is one of the fastest and most convenient scanners I have ever used. Its compact size makes it a perfect fit for any office space. The scanner connects quickly and easily to both my PC and Mac. On the default setting, it effortlessly scans through pages of documents at an impressive speed. What truly sets this scanner apart from others in its category is its ability to scan both sides of each page simultaneously. This feature is a significant time-saver, especially when using the higher 600 dpi setting. However, I had to deduct one star from this review because the scanner can be problematic when feeding multiple pages. While it handles single pages and small stacks well, it struggles with larger stacks of, say, 20 pages or more, often causing paper jams. Despite its lightweight and compact design, which makes it less suitable for heavy-duty scanning tasks, it remains an excellent choice for light-to-moderate use. If you need a reliable, fast, and space-efficient scanner for smaller loads, the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 is a remarkable option.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This scanner is such a quick and efficient scanner. The installation instructions were very easy to follow and no issues with set up. The directions to start scanning were easy to follow. The scanner is very slick and clearing any jams is super simple. The software was easy to use and pretty self explanatory. You can scan things into PDF, JPEG, or TIFF. You can also customize the file name settings. I like that I can scan 2-sided if needed. This product scans so quick! See my video with 2 pages, it takes a very short amount of time. This scanner also has the ability to scan not only 8 1/2x11" documents but you can also scan small items such as your drivers license or very large landscape documents. The only downside to this particular model is that it must be wired to the computer using the USB cable. There is a C320 version that is wireless and if I were to purchase this product, I would opt for the wireless version.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. TLDR; If you're looking for a compact, portable if needed, and very quick scanner, this one is for you! Although the packaging was a little clunky when taking out the scanner, it was at least simple to unpackage. I was a little disappointed in that I had to install additional software, but at least the software is very simple to use with simple buttons to scan. With my first scan of some receipts, I was amazed at how quickly it scanned the document. It's not high resolution, but with pages of notes and receipts, it's not very necessary, and is nice to keep the file size smaller. I don't have a lot of desktop space, so the size of this scanner is very handy! It would be nice to have an icon reminding to place documents upside down in the scanner, but at least when you forget like I do, there's a button within the software to rotate all of the images that you've scanned at once. Since I have to use this in multiple locations, I love that it is so light, and easy to transport. I thought it would be nice to have wi-fi capabilities, but since you have to manually put what's being scanned in, it really doesn't seem as necessary. I suppose it would be nice if multiple people were using it in an office space, but for personal/single-person use, wi-fi isn't needed. Overall, this scanner is a great product, and I'm looking forward to digitizing multiple binders of notes, as well as continued use in tracking receipts. The price, the quality, and the speed brings it all together as a really good scanner, and I highly recommend it!

Disclosure: This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The ES-C220 is the first document scanner that I have tried outside of an office environment. Typically, my home usage has involved scanning apps, high resolution flatbed scanners and the built-in scanner on All-In-One printers. Aside from Epson, I have familiarity with the HP, Brother and Cannon brand product lines, so I have an established baseline for expectations when it comes to this device. Two decades involved in the IT field and almost one decade of testing should be more than enough experience to provide a reliable evaluation. When it comes to reviews, I do not hold back about things that I like or dislike about a product. I would like to breakdown my review into several parts: Unboxing & Setup, Performance, Application, Comparison and Recommendation. Unboxing & Setup: The ES-C220 arrived on my doorstep in a box approximately 14" L x 8.5" W x 8" H, while the box lists the device dimensions as 11.7" L x 4.1" W x 4.9" H (without the document holder extended). The device is certainly compact as advertised. Upon opening the box, I found my first annoyance. Why are we still using polystyrene for these things? I have purchased multiple products much more delicate than this using molded paper-pulp inserts as void filled and protection. Folded corrugated cardboard can also fulfill this role just as well. The inner flaps of the box give clear visual direction for conveniently and safely unboxing. I always appreciate that. The digital age has thankfully eliminated the endless stack of documentation that once accompanied any home office device. The box contains a total of 3 documents. The Start Guide explains clearly how to remove the tape used to keep everything in place. If you are someone who skips guides and then tries to rip open a device like this, do not be upset if you end up breaking something. The device itself feels solid but once you start opening and closing things you can see which parts may be considered fragile. Even without instruction, hardware setup is intuitive enough. Match your shapes and plug things in where appropriate (power and date connections). The days of installation headaches are mostly gone. Software is available on the Epson site and easy to install. The device is quickly recognized, linked and available to use. You have a basic utility program, scanning software, an updater and a trial of receipt/invoice importing. Everything you need, but nothing you do not, compared to years of bloatware inclusion from companies like HP. Performance: ES-C220 is designed for small offices and home office usage. It is compact enough to store away when not in use to make for a less cluttered workspace. Alternatively, it could be an option for someone who works out of different offices and brings along equipment. This is not going to be used for graphic design or photography related work. Because of these two factors, there will be issues of durability and quality. Durability wise, the movable parts may break due to wear and tear or misuse. As for quality, this device has a maximum setting of 1200 dpi. That is more than enough for documents. Neither is a negative aspect. Some consumers just need to temper their expectations of this kind of device. On lower resolutions I clocked one-sided scan time at roughly two seconds, higher resolution scanning at around four seconds and double-sided higher resolution scanning at eight seconds. I would consider that a very respectable time for a compact document feeder that did not jam easily. The only time it jammed was while attempting to scan a long receipt from a year ago that was very wrinkled. Paper stacks, business cards, menus, and flyers all fed through easily. The ScanSmart software is a very no-frills application. You have options for single-sided or double-sided scanning and a trial for receipt/invoice management. The settings allow for dpi adjustment, rotation, stitching and enhancements. You can customize where you want to send the files, how they are named and the save formats. The OCR software can cleanly read text which is great for scannable PDFs (a life saver when dealing with forms). Epson loses me on the license requirement for receipt and invoice handling. Nearly $100 just to use OCR on those and import to book keeping and tax software is a non-starter. I find this device to be capable of what it promises and without any major disappointments. With proper use and care, it could last you several years, at least enough to justify the price. Application: The ES-C220 has two use cases I mentioned previously. In an office environment, you could either leave it out in a permanent spot or store it away until needed and have it ready in an instant. This would be great for school offices and any business doing record keeping or archiving. Traveling workers could in theory bring this to sites along with a laptop. This could be useful for regional managers, loss prevention management and accountants that come to you. There are more portable devices and scanning apps that could compete against the device in this situation, but neither of those would handle multiple documents as well as this, so keep that in mind. My average time for unpacking and assembling or disassembling and packing was under three minutes. Comparison: While evaluating this device, I compared it to two physical devices I was able to access: Canon MX922 and HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw. On the portable device side, I tried the following apps: Cam Scanner, Adobe Scan and Mobile Scanner Pro. The physical devices were AIO units with higher resolutions and more features. They were also huge and weighed substantially more in comparison. When it comes to the apps, you are dealing with the form factor of something pocket sized. What you will find is that with the ES-C220 there is less need to adjust rotation or concern yourself with blurring. If you want to scan a stack of papers, using your phone will be tedious. Recommendation: For what it is and what it does, I find that the ES-C220 is a solid performer. There are two cases where I can see it worthwhile as a purchase. Either you have specific user needs like I described in the review or the price point lowered. If you find this on sale, great. Go for it. If it is full price, I think I would hesitate and consider my needs and my options before moving forward. Maybe some might find that harsh, but this is an impartial review. Many businesses could find this device extremely useful and within their budget. For a home office user, I would seriously consider my needs first. Do I really need this? Is it saving me space. If I have this AND a printer, would I be better off with an AIO unit instead of two separate devices? Will I need to take it with me? On function, the device has a stamp of approval. For the software, I think it is respectable and bare bones. On price point, I consider it only useful in a small to medium office and the license requirement for further integration is a disappointment. We should be beyond that kind of practice. The combined cost would afford you something much nicer. Overall, the ES-C220 is worth at least considering if it is a fit for your needs. Do not just scroll by it. Epson is a very dependable company worth your consideration.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The unboxing and set up for the Scanner could not have been easier. I was glad to see that the scanner is simple in design and function as technology these days seems to have too many unnecessary features and complications. This was basically plug and play and once set up the rest of the software instructions were simple to follow and i was up and running within minutes. The user interface is very friendly and easy to follow along. you basically choose the type of scan you want and the rest is taken care of. Being able to scan multiple invoices/receipts quickly and have them organized is a great time saver for the office. I am very happy wit the quality and speed of the Scanner.

This is a review for the Epson Workforce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. While working in administration, it is crucial to seek methods to boost productivity and streamline operational procedures. Within the procurement sector, maintaining meticulous organization and tracking of invoices and procurement-related documents is imperative. This motivated my decision to invest in the Epson ES-C220 desktop document scanner. The unboxing process is straightforward and efficient; simply remove the tape, download the required drivers and utilities, connect the Type C to USB cable to an available port, and you are ready to operate the scanner. The device's compact design and clear Start Guide facilitated a quick setup, taking approximately 10 minutes to have the ES-C220 operational. The installation procedure is uncomplicated and rapid, enabling prompt initiation of scanning tasks. Upon detection, a simple search for "Epson ES-C220 drivers" directs to Epson's webpage where the appropriate combo pack containing drivers and utilities can be downloaded based on the operating system. Subsequent installation prompts guide users to configure the device correctly and install useful utilities. The scanner efficiently handles various documents, including invoices, agreements, family photographs, and business cards, producing detailed scans with remarkable speed. While the scanner is not explicitly designed for photographs, it performs adequately when scanning 4x6 photos, with attention to preventing sticking during scanning. Notably, the dual-side scanning feature enhances efficiency in scanning business cards, complemented by the user-friendly Epson smart scan software and "Presto Bizcard" for data categorization into spreadsheets. The scanner offers two modes - vertical and straight through - catering to different scanning requirements. The vertical mode maneuvers paper through a "U-shaped" path ending neatly in the front tray, suitable for papers, multiple page scanning with the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), and business cards. Conversely, the straight through mode inclines the scanner back, with the scanned document exiting through a lower slot, ideal for scanning booklets, brochures, and passports. The scanner operates swiftly, offering the flexibility to save scans in multiple formats, send them to cloud storage, emails, or directly into accounting software. The integration with cloud services like Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox enhances convenience, ensuring seamless document management and storage options. In summary, the Epson ES-C220 is a remarkable asset for both home and office environments, simplifying archival processes for printed documents efficiently and securely. With its remarkable speed, quality scans, versatile positioning options, and affordability, this scanner is highly recommended for enhancing work efficiency and productivity in document management tasks.

My first impression of the Epson Scanner, ESC220, was what an incredible and reliable machine it is. I liked the smaller footprint and thought it worked well for both my Macs and Windows machines. With the smaller footprint it took up about half the size of a normal printer. My only surprise was that it lacked wifi capability which would have allowed a business to place it anywhere in the office.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I got to admit that I was very skeptical about this scanner coming out of the box, but this little scanner shocked me. To start with it's almost a plug and go scanner. So quick and easy. Inside the box there is a power cord, USB to USB-C and a start up guide that will walk you through the process with pictures included. Downloading the software is a breeze. On the start up guide it gives you a website to put in and then pick you windows and download. Once done you are brought to the set up guide on the computer. This also has pictures and a pre scan option to make sure everything is a okay! Now, this is little scanner is FAST and very ACCURATE! With my all in one flat scanner I was using before this I was taking for ever to get this process done. Now instead of 45 mins it's literally a press of a button and save to my preferred option and done! No need to do any extra leg work like cropping it is done for you! The color is AMAZING that the scanner picks up. It is vibrant and right on the money as far as capturing the document in its best form. I have used plenty of different scanners and printers in the past but this little scanner has really surprised me. Even though it's little and space saving it doesn't feel like it falls short in durability! I would feel comfortable taking this with me as needed to go anywhere. I would definitely get a nice carrying case to protect it but I would recommend that for anything that you want to keep in nice shape! Now let me just say that after the ease of the scanning process and set up, I was thinking okay here is going to be the issue again I was wrong! The software is just as perfect as the machine. I just put my papers in the scanner and hit scan, it scans the documents and brings up the program. Gives me options to were I wanna send or save to, gives me easy to understand settings for scanner and for the document I am scanning or to auto detect. I changed settings and gave this scanner a full on test all away around the board. I scanned many different documents to see how well it would go after being used multiple times and it hasn't disappointed me yet. I believe that in the long run this scanner will hold up for long haul. It is well built and the way it is designed it can be worked on easily and kept cleaned! I definitely would recommend this scanner to anyone!! The price, the quality, the build and the software brings it all together as a quality product!

"This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review." Pros: Included with the scanner: online user manual, USB-A to USB-C cable, Start Guide, symbols guide, and Power Cord. The product is compact, fits well in small spaces, and works well on a cluttered desk . The two angles of scanning, depending on the document type, allows for ease in scanning multiple items. Ability to scan both sides of a document at the same time. Not a lot of function buttons to understand it is user friendly with a straight forward software package. The ability to save directly to Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or Evernote is a time saving feature. The ability to save in a variety of formats such as Word, Excel, PDF and more allows you the ability to customize the scan without having to work in a separate program. Cons: Software for the scanner that must be downloaded from the internet is very slow and hard to connect to your computer. The documents must be loaded face out which is opposite how most work and the icon is hard to see. There is no output tray for pass-through scanning. Must be directly connected to the computer, no Wi-Fi or network option. Conclusion: This is a great compact and fast scanner for all of your document needs. This is not a high-res photo scanner, but it is a super-fast document scanner with the ability to scan two sides at once and handle 20 pages at a time. I'm sure this will finally help power through my stack of papers in the office, and I'd recommend getting one if you're looking for a scanner with these abilities.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Epson has nailed it with the ES-C220. The scanner is very compact and takes up less desk space than a mouse pad. It captures receipts quickly and without crumpling the tissue paper they're issued on any more. It feeds 20-30 8 1/2x11 pages through without jamming or pausing. Business cards, passport, pages torn out of magazines, it just all goes through without complaint and gives a good digital rendering on the first pass. The page guides keep the feed straight. There's a little button on the side that adjusts for thicker cardstock and allows it to pass out the bottom, rather than being curled back up toward the top. This is also gentle on delicate originals, if you're like me and the family archivist. When not in use the page holders (bunny ears) fold down to be out of the way. The included Epson scanning software runs everything at full color up to 600 dpi. Scans can go direct to jpg or pdf, b&w or color, and each can be set up with a preset. It can be set up to just run it through with an automatic name based on the date and time, or it can pause after each scan to ask for a more meaningful name for the file. The software automatically adjusts for any slight skew during scan as well as any borders or stray lines. The drivers make the scanner available to other software as well, so you can scan directly to your favorite photo or document touch up wizardry, or include into business workflow. Setup is fast and easy. Just a power cable and standard USB connection. While it's small and compact, I wouldn't say it's sturdy enough to be a portable unit, but a padded case should be easy enough to put together if that's what you need. The parts that wear out (the feeder rolls) are straightforward to replace, so it looks to be built to be maintained, not as a disposable unit. Overall a good quality scanner at this price. Reliable enough to use every day? or to put away for a few weeks and start up again if it's more of a hobby.

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Let me say first I was skeptical this little machine can scan faster than my HP All in One. I must say, it is fast, reliable, and does the job for me. It is too easy to set up with clear steps, connection, and it almost plug and play!! The set up was too easy, a couple of clicks, walks you through each step with pictures, and downloading the drivers and software was simple as writing your name. As far as the features, it scans incredibly fast, connects to your pc via USB to C cable (I prefer it for stabilization) and love the preview page that allows you to view the pages scanned. The clarity of the documents and receipts scanned is perfect for my needs since I am tracking all of our accounting and billing records. This compact fella does not take up to much space and is perfect for limited space and is perfect for anyone that has a small workspace. This will be my go to scanner for all of my accounting needs!!

This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-C220 Desktop Document scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I recently acquired Epson ES-C220 Scanner and I was pleasantly surprised. From its sleek design to its speedy performance, this scanner exceeded my expectations in all aspects. I was earlier using all in one printer-scanners. Which had flatbed scanner and took up lot of desk space. this scanner is very compact and takes very little space. The setup was super easy. Within minutes of unboxing, I had it up and running. The installation program walks me through all the steps and even does one test scan. The scanner is super fast, i was expecting small=slow! The scanning quality is impeccable. i ran a few documents through it and the scanned version with identical duplicates as they should be. Plus, the scanning speed is remarkable, saving me valuable time on large projects. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my new epson scanner. Its good performance, ease & speed of use and low footprint make it a must-have for anyone looking to streamline their document scanning. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
