Wow for the "Epson SureColor 17" Commercial Edition Wide-Format Printer with SpectroProofer" the price doubled, and all for a SpectroProofer which many professional photographers don't need. The the print quality from this printer is the same as the SureColor P5000 without the SpectroProofer. Epson we are getting the message loud & clear (and the inks are still amazingly expensive). Epson, your customers are getting the message loud & clear.

Bought for high volume printing, mainly BW. Just excellent prints. 80ml cartridges very economical compared to the 14ml cartridges with smaller printers.

Prints beautifully - still working out the color, but it's great so far. Very heavy - make sure you have an extra person help carry it into the house! A great printer for the value!!

When it works, it creates wonderful prints. I'm now having issues with its reading data from my computer but I'll eventually get the help I need to get it functioning. It's heavy and expensive to maintain.

Pro printer - not always the easiest to use, but could always get what I wanted out of it. Most of my issues with it are nits - tends to ask "are you sure" a lot; the menu system is non-intuitive or just plain unclear. Again though I could always get what I wanted from it. Documentation seems to assume you're an experienced photographer/printer but a novice computer user. Which makes for odd directions - the computer part is clearly spelled out but the printing instructions are pretty opaque unless you're familiar with the terms and tend to lack definitions of the terms used. Most important point it really makes really good prints - especially B&W!

I have only had the P5000 a few day's and it is preforming well. The prints are awesome. This printer replaces my reliable as a stone ax 11 year old Epson 4800. Time will tell if this one is as good. The one thing that does bother me quite a bit is that Epson has locked out USA users of this and other printers from using 3rd party ink sets...this is not he case in Europe and Asia. Apparently their governments are not as likely to roll over and play dead as ours seems so willing to do. It's like being told by a car manufacturer that you must buy 1 brand of gas.

This machine is perfect for what we need it for - proofing and giving customers an idea of what something will look like. The color is accurate and the registration is good.

I have always loved Epson’s wide format product line, and this printer is no exception. Great quality, easy to set up, and absolutely love the paper tray. I actually own two now.

I've owned the Epson Stylus Pro 4000, 4800 and 4900. I've used those printers for event printing in the past. This SureColor P5000 printer will be used lightly, for the forseeable future. Nevertheless, although these printers all are suggested to be better recommended for situations where they will have frequent use, I have been quite satisfied with intermittent job printing. My use in the past has been to print a few hundred 8x10 sheets in a week, followed by a few months of infrequent personal printing. Simple nozzle cleaning has always restored full functioning, as needed. I purchased the P5000 for personal use only, and added a DigitalDeckCovers cover which is very similar to the TUMI cover I had used in the past. I expect this cover will aid in keeping the printer clean and help control the internal humidity. Cost savings of the large ink cartridges, powered roll feed and the vacuum hold down function are three primary reasons to choose this printer over other less expensive 17" printers.

We are a commercial photographer and work with art directors all the time and they love our display prints. I have several Epson printers for displaying work in our studio on a large scale. The P5000 17" printer does personal work and portable portfolio prints. It is amazing the quality of the prints and their color.

This is, without a doubt, the worst printer ever made. Epson has not made an ICC Profile for this printer - ever! They lump it under a mass-category of printers. Sort of a one-size fits none, I guess. On top of that, the one-size fits none profile was last made for MAC OS 10.7. As of today, the current version of the MAC OS is 10.13.3. No profile = no great prints. You will be printing mediocre at very best. This may be an okay printer for novices who wish to have mediocre prints to give family and friends, but if you are a professional or even a student of photography then this printer will not work for you.

As a a large format printer the Epson 5000P is exactly what I was looking for to fill my printing needs. The directions for installing the unit were straight forward. You will need at least two people to lift and carry the unit to your desired location. Initialization took a while but once you finished loading the paper and setting your measurement things went smoothly. Another reason for purchasing the printer was the cost per ink cartridge. Although not the least expensive of all the Epson large format printers the cost seemed reasonable.

Moved up from a P 800. No comparison. Big well constructed and first class quality. Highly recommended.

Started printing with the Epson 7600 thought it was a great printer but it had its problems with the limited color capabilities. This printer is just phenomenal right out of the blocks, can't weight to get more experience with it
