bought this for our accounts payable however the scan preview is a totally different print quality than the actual scan. I cant believe how bad the actual scan is its illegible if there is any gray on the receipt

Overhyped

The DS-530 II color duplex document scanner turned out to be great for someone like me who is a photographer. I purchased a ton of old photographs and I am happy to say the DS-530 really exceeded my expectations. Old photos from the 1940s were a breeze to scan and add to my collection. The DS-530 sped through stacks of photos and became a simple and efficient process. The quality was too notch. I also have been in the process of scanning all my documents to a digital copy Incase the original is lost or something. Usually with my older scanner I could only do a few at a time. I was also pleased with the ability to have the photos and documents added to my cloud storage easily as well. The smaller photos and documents were also easy for me to scan and upload. I was overall satisfied with the DS-530 II and how it handled my jobs. What an amazing scanner!!!

I was in need of a high quality scanner for my work at home job. I wanted one that I could scan from any of the devices I had in my house. So I was so blown away when I got this amazingly high quality scanner that I could use from any of my devices from my lap top to my cell phone. 

It scans nice and quick. The quality of the scan is unbelievable. It has advanced paper feed technologies such as blank page removal, auto rotation, auto-cropping, Dirt Detection, and Paper Protection which is a huge plus. It helps me be more productive at work. 

If you are looking for a scanner that is top notch that can scan from any of your devices, this is the scanner you want. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome quality scanner that is quick

This Epson DS-530 II color scanner is perfect for my small office. It's very compact allowing me to place it on my desk without it getting in the way. Setup was very easy, I only wish it were wireless. My favorite thing about this scanner is that I can load all of my documents in it at one time and it scans them all super fast saving me so much time and energy from scanning individually and waiting. The color quality is amazing and nothing comes out distorted when scanning. This scanner allows me to keep everything organize and scanned in as my documents come in. I am all over the place when it comes to hard paper copies of things because I can never keep track of them but this allows me stay organized and save everything important that I need for later use. 
 I have had no misfeed issues with this scanner. Everything has worked properly, speedy and effectively. If you are scanning tons of papers, receipts, documents on a daily basis this is the scanner I recommend. Pirtable, easy to use, speedy and great quality. Speedy scanning

Unboxing was quick and easy! There was a quick-start manual included that consisted of the basic steps of 1) unwrap, 2) plug it in, 3) download/install the software. The installation walks through the order in which to plug things in (power, then USB) and automatically detects the scanner and continues. The installer has a couple options as to which parts to install - it requires the drivers & document capture software, for example, but optionally lets you NOT install the manuals/updater/uninstaller if you'd like. Selecting everything says it will take 415.9MB of space.

The rest of the installation was a breeze. Launching the "Epson Scan 2" gives all sorts of options for quality, de-noise, brightness, etc. My favorite was the option to de-skew based on either the page or the content itself!

Scanning is VERY quick - I've included a video showing a scan at 600DPI, 300dpi, and 200dpi. The speed does not sacrifice quality, it's great & color-accurate.

The document-feeder works great, accurately separating pages & feeding them through quickly. The document-catcher tray slides out and even has a flip-up stop at the end to catch the papers as they come out so they aren't pushed off the end onto the floor.

In summary, it's an awesome scanner. It's quick, high-quality, and yet also compact - perfect to keep on the side of my desk.

Very fast & great quality

I am very, very happy with this Epson Duplex Document Scanner. I've used different brand scanners over the years, from flatbed, to handheld to desktop but they always end up disappointing me. this one surprised me a lot, no problems with jams, connection issues, etc. It was easy to set up and does a great job! definitely the technology every day advances more and more. In our office we digitize all of our paperwork from receipts and accounting policies and their safeguarding in our system is quickly, It has a good speed, and produces nice PDFs. we prefer to keep digital copies of most documents and recycle the paper. I just want to easily scan and this works really awesome. This Duplex Document Scanner has out-performed my expectations at this point, it is so fast, and the scans are perfectly aligned. it feeds flawlessly with a great image. even with the long skinny receipts with no issues at all. The actual scanning process is a sight to behold speedwise, even scanning double sidded doesn't slow down the unit. The program supplied is powerful and I like that I can make profiles for different types of scans. I highly recommend this scanner for heavy volume use. Great Scanner, Super fast!

All scanning jobs can be handled by this scanner. This is compact in size and doesn't take too much on the office desk. The best part is the auto document feeder that really saves time and effort to keep the paper straight on the regular glass plate scanner. Now I don't have to scan one paper at a time, the auto feeder does it perfectly. It neither misfeeds nor double feeds the paper and ensures that no page is skipped while doing a stack scan. The scan quality is impressive with the few latest features like auto-rotating, blank page removal & auto-cropping. It's equally good for business cards and id cards scanning. The scanning speed is pretty quick, around 30 pages per minute, which is better than most. It is also able to store the scanned documents directly to the online storage accounts like Google Drive, Evernote, and SharePoint, this is the most used feature by me. Overall this is a great scanner for any small business which has a lot of scanning jobs, makes things easier and quicker. Awesome Scanner!

I?m very torn on this scanner, it does about 95% of what I want, and that 95% it does excellent. The biggest drawback to this scanner is its lack of network connectivity.
Lets start with what this scanner does well. This scanner is compact, and reads documents at lightning speed. It takes up a minimal amount of real estate on my desk, and yet it scans faster than the industrial size machines in my office of 500+ people. The feeder seems to move at comparable speed than my full size office scanner feeder, but because it scans both sides in a single pass, it seems to do twice as many pages in less time. The full size machine I have at my office requires three passes of every page for double sided scanning, and this one goes through (both sides) in a single pass.
The quality of the scan is excellent, and exactly what I would expect from an epson product. The interface is easy to use and straightforward. It is clear and gives you quick options. It allows me to scan directly to a number of different sources including straight to a local drive, Google Drive, Evernote, Sharepoint, SugarSync, Email, FPT even another printer. I?ve never seen the option of scanning straight to the printer, essentially making it half of a copy machine. It even has buttons that allow manual operation outside of the software, which I find very convenient.
The major drawback of this machine is its lack of connectivity. It easily connects via USB 3, but has no ability to connect to a local network. I don?t find internet connected printers to be extra useful, so I?m not dinging it for its lack of internet connectivity, but I have not found a way to make it a network printer, outside of plugging it into another computer. I prefer to use my laptop and tablet at various locations, so it is important for me that I don?t have to physically plug into my peripherals. I have connected the scanner to my docking station, but because of this, I have to dock in order to scan a document. I would prefer a machine that connects to my network, whether it is wifi or hard line ethernet. I think that network connectivity is a modern day necessity, even if all users may not use it.
The lack of direct network connectivity is a major consideration when purchasing this machine. This machine is certainly best for those who do not have a need for network connectivity.

Excellent quality, missing network connectivity

This is a review for the Epson DS-530 II Color Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I've been using this scanner for a little over a week. I've scanned maybe about over 100 documents and 100 photos. I have no complaints. It works as expected. With this particular scanner, I can place two photographs of 5 x7 on the glass plate at a time. The built-in software will give you two separate photo files and will self-adjust the photos for alignment if they are not placed on the glass platen exactly straight. This feature is a real time saver. I continue to use the scanner as a document scanner because it's a little quicker than my all-in-one printers can scan and it gives me a good quality scan. The digital software, built into the unit, automatically performs some color correction to each photo and does that fairly well. This scanner also scans negatives, slides and does a wonderful job doing it. It has TWAIN and ISIS® drivers for seamless integration. I had many documents scanned and they look fabulous. There is a brief learning curve and you need to experiment with all the settings and how to use the included holders. It has fast speeds up to 35 ppm/70 ipm1. It has auto rotation if the document is not lined hp properly it also has auto cropping, dirt fetection and paper protection.

Outstanding Scanner

First impressions: The unboxing of the scanner was straightforward and simple. The package arrived to my doorstep relatively undamaged. The product along with accessories were easy to remove from the box, and everything was connected to my computer within 10 minutes. The scanner is a nice modern, white color design that does not take up much footprint when closed up. Even with the rear feed tray and front trays extended, it does not take up an absurdly large amount of space. 

Setup & Usage: The device is standard USB 3.0 Type B, WITHOUT WiFi capabilities. The Epson Scan & Document Capture software installation process was a relative breeze. The latest version of the software, the ?Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer?, can be found under the product support page on the Epson website. My setup process was performed on Windows 10, so I am not able to comment on the software installation for MacOS users. 

Scanning documents itself is fast and straightforward - just make sure you orient your documents correctly in the rear feed tray; documents go in with the front side and top being facing down. The scanner processes multi-page documents very quickly, with double sided capture working like a charm. Document Capture Pro was able to sense the sizes of my documents and receipts with ease, ranging from standard 8.5 x 11 letter size paper to long store receipts resembling the ones you get at CVS. The scanning software also allows you to choose a variety of document format outputs other than PDF, which is very convenient if you are scanning a picture vs. scanning text only documents. These settings can also be customized and saved as presets, for fast access and reuse in the future. 

I would like to highlight the duplex functionality of the printer, which saves so much time compared to non-duplex scanners. The speed at which the scanner processes double sided documents is quite quick, with the limitation being how fast your computer and the Epson software can process the scans. As mentioned previously, make sure you insert the front side of your double sided page face down, otherwise, the page order will be scanned and processed in reverse. This is not an issue for a single page of double sided content as it can be easily corrected in Adobe Acrobat, but if you are scanning stack of documents, it is less than ideal to have everything the wrong direction. 

Scan Quality: Being primarily a document scanner, the quality has been flawless on all my receipts and standard documents, with clear text that was easily processed by OCR and made editable in Adobe Acrobat. For color image scans, the color resolution and tones are slightly lacking, but for the most part, get the job done. Granted, this was not designed for scanning and digitizing photographs and artwork so if you are looking for a scanner that preserves image coloring with minimal tweaks to the software, I suggest looking elsewhere for something better suited for the job. For the time that I have used the machine for its intended designed purpose, it has outperformed the previous scanners that I have owned. I hope that the device continues to perform well into its service life, producing speedy, quality scans. I have not needed to contact customer service for any reason, and hope it stays that way. I give this product an unbiased, 5/5 stars so far. 

My background is in Information Technology and Computer Engineering, so your experience with ease-of-setup may vary. The only really difficult part, is finding the download link to the software package, which can be easily accomplished if you know how to use Google. If not, then buying a scanner, quite frankly, may not have been the best move for you ? may I suggest the local library with scanning capabilities on a computer and live support from the staff?

Awesome Scanner for the Intended Purpose

Another great product by Epson. Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner helps me in my job of scanning documents daily. It's easy to set up. It's compact. It's very stylish. I just don't know how I could do all my scanning jobs without this Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner. I highly recommend all of Epson products especially if you run a business. I have never had a bad Epson product yet. The colors are really clear and sharp. Awesome scanner

At first glance it looks so compact, setup was such a breeze. My system recognized and installed the driver right away, I did however had to go to the Epson website to download some software. which also was quite easy to install, once installed completely, I had to try it first I scanned id cards.it scanned both sides I think it took about 2 seconds to scan 4 cards. yes, it was that fast, I then really put it to a test and scan 13 standard-size papers also full-duplex it's amazingly fast. by the way, it was able to scan id cards and my printer's scanner couldn't because the guides were able to close to form fit the ids. it will be an
 an amazing addition to any office!

Super Fast Scanner!!

I had lots of important documents that were in bins that were put away in a closet in case I needed them. I have always been afraid to damage them or lose them. I received the Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner and I love the features that it has. 

It was so easy to set it up and it came with all the cables needed. I followed the instructions on the guide it came with and I simply turned it on and connected it to the internet and went to Epson's Support site to download the software. Once the software downloaded I scanned the first important document to save it to my desk top folder. I loaded the document facedown, short edge first and I pressed the start button. I was amazed at how fast the documents were scanned and how it scanned both sides. Which is great that it has the duplex capability because you don't need to put the document back in to scan the other side. I also noticed that it scanned in color and it has the double feed detection, slow feed, cancel and start buttons. 

I'm so happy with the scanner and how it did a great job in scanning all my important documents and saving them to my windows pc. I recommend to anyone who needs to save important documents in on their pc to purchase this wonderful scanner.

Great Scanner!

The Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner is totally amazing. It has synced up to my computers running on Windows as well as my android phone so I can literally scan from whatever device I am using. It has really fast scanning and can hold up to 50 pages at a time. It can scan in color or black and white as well as grayscale too!!! 
It can integrate with most existing document management systems. With the advanced paper feed technologies such as blank page removal, auto rotation, auto-cropping, Dirt Detection, and Paper Protection help enhance productivity making this my favorite scanner because I can worry less and get more done!

Awesome Product

The Epson DS-530II scanner works great and is perfect for scanning all my paperwork and organizing it on my computer. It small, compact and portable. It's lightweight and fits nicely on my desk. The top folds out becoming the input tray and the return tray pulls out at the bottom. It was a breeze to set up. The software was easy to download and I had it up and running within 10 minutes. 
I was able to scan all of my paperwork quickly and accurately. It accurately counts the documents its scanning and leave out duplicates. The duplex feature works well and it automatically scans both sides of the documents. It scans in color as well, which is a nice feature. It's also adjustable for paper size, so you can scan small items, like IDs. It rarely jams but when it does, clearing the jam is very simple to do. It doesn't connect to wifi, so it has to be plugged into your computer to operate.

Works well

This Epson Ds-530II scanner is so light weight and easy to use. Set up/download took less then 15 mins to do. This scanner does not have wifi so it needs to be connected to a computer whenever needing to scan. The top of the scanner flips up and that is where the documents go, the documents need to be face down when scanning . It has to size adjusters on it, one on each side to do different side documents. The bottom has the return tray that the documents go once scanned. The scanner has 5 buttons on the right, power, double feed detection, slow feed, cancel and start. The double feed detection is so nice to have so you are not accidentally scanning the same document twice. To clear a jam on this scanner is super easy to do. You push the light gray button on the top left side of the body and it opens up the scanner. You remove the jam and it will start where it left off. 

This scanner is also nice because it a duplex feature and automatically scans both sides of a document with out you telling it to. It does not put the blank pages in the scan document. It omits those out on its own. The scanner program in the computer counts the pages as it goes, I double checked 3 batches that I scanned it and they were correct, with the amount of pages I had. After the 1st 3 batches I stopped checking. I feel this scanner is very accurate in getting all documents scanned in.  The scanner also does color which is very helpful with some of our documents that you scan in.  

This scanner is a nice weight and size, when not in use it folds up until it is needed. I love how it can scan my documents in mins and puts them in the downloaded folder for me to rename and move where needed. This scanner has made life alot easier that is forsure. Works great

The setup process of this compactwas easy- unbox, plug it in, turn it on, download the driver/software package, and then plug it into the computer when the setup asks you.

Next, I had a stack of medical and registration forms for my kids school, many of them two-sided documents. Using the Epson scanner software, I toggled "2-sided" scanning, and "skip blank pages", and just like that in a matter of only seconds it simultaneously scanned both sides of each page, left out the blank sides and created a high-quality 200-dpi PDF that was both crisp while still compressing to a small file size ready for email. 

My past experience with SOHO scanners like the HP OfficeJet and Canon ImageClass lines of scanners shows that there was much room for improvement when it comes to scanners. Now that I've tried this, I never want to go back to 30 seconds of waiting for the scanner to warm up, move the reader head, scan the page, the duplexer pulling it back in to scan the other side, etc., because in the same amount of time, I could scan two-sides of 30 sheets with this Epson DS-530 II duplex scanner!

A compact, yet ultrafast-scanner for a fast-paced world!

Since I work from home for an agency, there are some things that I have to scan and get out to clients. It's sometimes a hassle to do that on my all-in-one printer, so having a separate document scanner helps.

The Epson DS-530 II Color Duplex Document Scanner is convenient, quick, and was so easy to set up. I had it scanning in less than 5 minutes. I love that it's not bulky so it does not take up much space at all. The document feeder closes down so that you can keep dust or debris out of the feeder and keep your scanner running nice. I do wish it was wi-fi enabled as I would not have to keep it directly plugged into my computer (I am a plug minimalist), but it works.

I tried it out scanning documents for my son's new job and it scanned both sides of his driver's license, SSID, and birth certificate without having to scan both sides of each separately. It gave me the option of saving either as a jpeg or pdf and if I wanted the document in color, greyscale, or black and white.

Perfect for the Home Business

I am very happy with this EPSON DS-530 II Color Document Scanner as it is very easy to install, configure and use. , for me it is the perfect solution since it is very fast and efficient (smart option). Now I can get the most out of my duty cycle as this scanner includes TWAIN and ISIS drivers for better integration with almost every document management system out there. In addition, this color scanner is very fast and safe for a super efficient work of my documents. Scan in color and I didn't get stuck even once ??????????????????????????????? This scanner does not have Wi-Fi, so you must be connected to a computer each time you need to scan. Also, keep in mind that each document must be face down at the time of processing. It has 5 buttons to its right in the following order. On -Double feed detection -Slow feed- Cancel and Start, in this scanner there is no margin of error and its function is duplex and it scans both sides automatically. Its size and weight are perfect, as well as its fast and safe shape, which makes this scanner of great quality and ultra-fast. This scanner was received free for testing and review.
