I have removed and reloaded the software so many times I can't even count it anymore. It fails to scan half the time and just freezes. Doesn't recognize the machine even though there is a cord plugged in. I simply hate this thing! I had a ScanSnap for years and never had an ounce of problems with it.

Its quick but too easy to make a mistake and quite difficult to undo something you did. The instructions are difficult to understand and the steps are easy to make a mistake with.

Good value for the price. Scanner is essentially an entry level device that does a sound job of scanning modest amounts of black & white documents. I use it for scanning/storing wills, tax returns and other key documents. Device is compact and easy to set up. The only issue I had was jamming when I attempted to do a large volume of double sided documents.

Overall I like the speed and ease of use with this scanner. My huge issue with it is that when it disconnects from the internet it is a huge pain to try and get it back working. I had to reinstall the software and go through all the steps again. While it does not do it all the time, there should be an easier way for it to reconnect with my wifi.

I've had this scanner about a year. It scans the pages swiftly and in a year's time it has only jammed once. I love the scan document slow feature, too, for thin receipts.

The scanner works fine as long as you only want the output in .pdf format. I cannot get it to print or save documents in Word format.

I purchased this scanner 8 months ago. I use it primarily for home document management in an essentially paperless environment. My primary tools are office 365 and lucion file center. After 8 months I have given up the scan smart soft ware and the epson scan utilities are just not efficient or user friendly. I cannot scan directly to one note and the ability to set up various profiles is there but difficult and lacks many of the options I need. I plan to put this on ebay to day and go with a more flexible user friendly version. I have called Technical Support 3 times spent an hour each time and just kept getting passed along.

I love this device I only have one small complaint and that is that it loses connection with my computer after I turn it off and then back on to scan another document. Other than that it is the.best machine on the market, according to me of course, it beat Fujitsu etc. if they could fix this issue I would give it 5 stars +, instead of 4. Thank you

I would have given this rating five stars but it fall short on the WIFI range. I have had this router for several years and I was constantly having trouble connecting wirelessly. After trouble shooting with tech support we discovered it was too far away from my router in another room approx. 60ft away in the hallway. Once we set it via USB it worked great. If your router is in the same room you should be OK otherwise connect direct. Epson needs to improve on the WIFI range.

The set up was easier than I thought it would, I did my sample scan and I am HAPPY with my purchase so far. I brought this based on others in the business showing and sharing that they too use the EPSON ES-500W for their Notary signing businesses... I'm new to this business, moreover; you have to do a lot of scan-backs and this little machine (smile!) I was told can handle the work load...

I use this scanner to print between 10-150 pages per job. Its a solid performer with auto page size I can scan legal and letter size with no concerns . Scanner also shows clear previews of documents

I bought this a month ago and was dreading the setup and scanning documents. The whole process took me only 15min from start to finish. That included setting file location on computer for the test scan. I was amazed at how fast it scanned and the clarity was awesome just like the original document. If you are thinking of getting this to convert all your paper files to digital I highly recommend this product. I will have so much fun converting to digital and get read of all the papers. Thank you Epson for the clear and logical directions on how to do this.

I bought this scanner in September 2018 and it has gotten considerable use, both for scanning in financial documents, as well as scanning in my genealogy documents. While I don't use it for photos (I haven't gotten the protective sheet for photos) I have used it for regular documents. It is fast, as well as easy and is my go to scanner.

I bought this to scan some docuents into my computer and get rid of the fax machine. Works super fast and no errors. I have purchased several Epson products and this is by far the best so far...Well worth the money and quality.
