Just purchased this printer, after having a prior model for five years and 25,000 printed pages, which thought was a very good life. Hope this one works as well for the long term!

Refurb by Epson. No yellow ink will flow. Epson said contact another department to ship it to them. Uh, there's a reason why I need a printer. So when Epson says they back their Certified ReNew printers, one has to wonder if they even tested the product.

The first printer arrived with a bad sheet feeder. The process to get the RGA over the phone was easy. I made a trip to Fedex to return it. The replacement printer arrived with no packing in the box and was smashed. Getting the RGA was a little harder because I saw no point in setting the printer up. Took several back and forth and pictures to get the RGA. Waited in line at Fedex again to return the unit. Third unit arrived, packed ok but not good. Set printer up anyway. Leaked blue ink and ruined my bookshelf and numerous papers. Asked for some sort of compensation for all my time and troubles and was denied. I estimate I spent close to 40 hours on installations, fedex returns and clean up. Was informed that since my original purchase date was more than 30 days prior they did not even owe me a refund but would this once issue on. They refund took over 4 weeks to process. Bought my first Epson printer in 1980. This was my last one.

I've worked for Fortune 500 companies as an Administrative Assistant and as a Receptionist, using high-end equipment. Epson USED TO BE A RELIABLE BRAND. But NOT ANYMORE. DON'T BE HEARTBROKEN BY BUYING FROM THIS COMPANY. I bought 2 printers and only used the first one. It's been ONE NIGHTMARE after another and a complete WASTE OF MONEY! Even after the set up, updates and firmware installations, just getting 1 page to print successfully, without me having to run to the printer to fix some "ERROR" is impossible. I spent hundreds on basically a heavy PAPERWEIGHT! I'm pretty good with technical issues. Nonetheless, EVERY option presents another error and nothing is consistent except that I know that there will be an error. VERY INEFFICIENT MACHINE. Not excited about using the 2nd one. I only bought 2 in order to have all the options (including 11"x17" paper printing and traditional faxing). Epson should just go out of business.

Was worried it was going to be too large for space, but fits perfectly. Nice to know ink supply. Bonus to have copier and scanner also. Replaced older Epson.

DO NOT BUY. The Wi?Fi drops every day-sometimes every hour. I've rebooted, reconnected, and tried every fix imaginable. This is the worst printer I've owned, and I'm tempted to toss it out the window.

Printer is like new & works well so far. It was easy to set up & works flawlessly with computers & phones. I like the ink reservoirs. Seems much better than cartridges. Haven't used the scanner yet. Guess I should verify everything works while it's still new.

I bought this printer but it is in awful quality. Every time I use, to have it connect to the wifi I need to restore default settings. And that works only sometimes. The ADF tray doesn't work. And papers get jammed every time. Called support and they told me to buy epson paper and call my wifi provider, but I've had epson printers before and they work on any paper and my wifi is working on every other device I have. They eventually just hung up saying they sent me an email with instructions, but it was just a broken link. I would not recommend renewed products. And Epson support is really bad.

In November i bought a refurbished Epson printer (ET-3850). When I received it and had it installed it started immediately with a paper jam. Fixed the paper jam and got a normal printout. Over the next couple weeks same thing over and over: paper jams. On December 23rd i called tech support and they decided i needed a new printer and said they would send one and they would send me a return label for the defective one. On January 8th I called Epson again because I had not received a printer there. I had to talk to multiple supervisors and the said I have 2 of these printers available and will call you back within 46 hours to get you an update. If that supervisor would not be able to get them, they would get us a newer model. January 12th, I had to call again because no call back or a printer. I got disconnected with a supervisor and no call back. After 1 hour I called back and tried to talk to a supervisor and that person was busy but they would call back in about 20 minutes. About 3 hours later, I had to call back because they didn't. I got connected with one of the higher supervisors of a store and she said that we would not get a printer because they were not available and that we had accepted a refund of our money, which we had not, and that a refund was our only option for a quick result. I need to send the printer back, they will inspect it and then I will get our money back. She told me she would email me a shipping label which I have not received yet. Epson is all about promises and no commitments. The people we talked to are liars. When you listen to the hold music which is a lot you hear Shaq say that you are VIP which is not true as well. If I was Shaquil I would be embarrassed being associated with Epson

I've had mine for over a year. I've printed about 3 reams of paper and still have more than half of the colored inks left and about half of the black ink. 2 extra bottles of blakc ink were included. I've not had any problems with mine.

It always works! The main reason I bought it was because my last few printers didn't always work. Plus once I got it, super simple set up. Now that I have it, color is great!, print speed is fast. East printing on different papers and transparencies. Print from back actually lines up better than most I've tried

This is a "I opened the box 30 minutes ago" review so I suppose take with a grain of salt, but the setup was amazing with Linux (Ubuntu 24.04). I plugged an ethernet cable from my router into the printer (for the same network my computer is on), and I had to do literally nothing else for it to connect. Did not install anything, did not reboot anything, printer just automagically showed up as an option to print and scan and both worked (the computer was set up with another printer from another manufacturer so YMMV with a clean install). Maybe this says as much about Linux as about Epson, but Epson is certainly involved, and was a lovely new printer experience.

My review falls in line with other's dissatisfaction experiences. Purchased 7/11/25 Replacement Request process begun 11/5/2025 Complaints: I didn't purchase a printer that constantly requires futzing with. 1. Constant paper jams with Epson brand and purchase paper. 2. Jams in back where it is hard to access. Back Panel is not easily relocked into place. Flimsy plastic and replacing the back panel roller & guide parts repeatedly will lead to damage. 3. The apps does spam you with offers, however those can be turned off and notifications silenced. I'd prefer to not have to jump through those hoops. 4. Renewed product does not have an information sheet on why it is a renewed product. 5. Front screen may be distorted when not lit with white background. Hard to tell if the lit backlight pattern is intentional display distortion. ET-3850 (Renewed) purchased from Amazon for $169.95 Amazon will refund even though I opened a ticked one day after refund options had closed, so Kudos to Amazon for the option. However, I like the price and the advertised printer features. The print quality is good. I'm looking for a no cost replacement option (including return shipping and travel) and will be contacting Epson later today when they are open. I have to drive 80miles to a UPS Store and do not want to travel for a return. I'll update this review after my replacement request is/isn't resolved.

Easy to set up, quick printing, sleek design...this Epson has it all! It's a replacement purchase and the Epson customer support was more helpful than I expected but my old Epson just bit this dust and I'm super happy I ordered this one from the Epson site.

I bought this printer (Model ET-3850) in late February 2025 and are very disappointed in its performance especially in scanning documents. I find the printer is not compatible with Windows 11 and was led to believe it was. The instruction material only speaks of Windows 10 or lower versions of Windows. It is junk - very disappointed - and feel I was deceived when I purchased new Windows 11 computers and were told the Epson FT-3850 was compatible - Found tech help from Epson of no value !!!

Had the printer for a couple weeks. Set-up was reasonably easy - a few things to figure out but not bad. It's a pretty basic printer for a pretty basic price. I wish it had USB port or to for using a thumb drive. And it won't duplex scans - so no double sided scanning. You can put scans together again in software. But so far so good.

Ordered on 7/16/2025 delivered on 7/21/2025, reached out to Epson for this issue on 8/20/2025, they said I can't return it any more and have to work with tech support as they use order date for the return policy not the delivery date. What?! They make thinks hard for support and return. You can tell they are trying to get away with the warranty when they can. Advise: don't order from Epson store.

Purchased July 24th and going into the garbage can August 17, 2025. The printer worked ok for about two weeks or so. Then it begin giving various sporadic error messages that seemed unrelated...ink level issues, print head cleaning needed (on a new printer?), paper clogs when there were none, and finally error messages in the que. I tried everything from power downs to resets to new firmware to new drivers to spooler resets. I would have tried the Epson diagnostic program, but once downloaded, it wanted a password which i didn't have. (Because it's refurbished?) I googled and I AI'd and the only thing i learned was that this particular printer is known for these bugs, particularly the ink level alerts on full tanks. I wish I'd known that before I purchased this thing. That's on me. As far as being refurbished, I've purchased many electronic and computer peripherals and never had a single issue. Ever. But I would think twice now. I've seen other people say that they would give zero stars in a rating if it were possible. Now I understand that. Why would I give any stars to a printer that won't print? My advice if you're looking for a dependable home office printer, stick with HP or Canon. I've had HPs that worked flawlessly for years, and I have a Canon Ink Tank printer right now. It's slow as heck printing color photos, but at least it prints!

I bought this printer for sticker making and DTF, and so far it has done the job. When it comes to DTF, it has issues seeing the paper and it will send it through the printer, then say no paper. The fix is that I need to tape each DTF to a white sheet of paper. After looking it up, some printers have an issue with its sensors to read opaque paper, whereas others it's not an issue. Not much I can do about this, but down the road I may need a new printer that doesn't need this extra step and wastage of extra paper. As for Epson's online store, I would recommend Amazon or a local store instead of it's online store. I placed my order four times to get it shipped after the site had issues and kept canceling my orders. Though the store has the option, it cannot send to an alternate address than the billing address, which was very inconvenient. I was on vacation and wanted it sent to my parents instead of it sitting on my doorstep while away. I ended up taking the risk as their site would not allow this even when using two different CC/Banks and confirming with the banks that it was being decided on Epson's end and not the CC/Bank causing it. Two of my orders were placed through the site itself and the third was placed over the phone with a support rep placing the order in case I was typing something in wrong. Support insisted this was the bank(s) having the issue, which I can 100% say it was not. This was very frustrating being told no, I need to call banks when it had nothing to do with them.

A man can never have enough printers. I've had nothing but Epson printers for the last 25 years and all of them have been from your clearance refurbished stock and I have not had any issues with any of them.

Bought this 3 weeks ago and it's given me headaches daily. Now it simply refuses to connect to WIFI, to print test sheets, and not even error messages. Printer screen says it's not connected to WiFi, but when I try reset from screen it says it's connected. And can't find Wi-Fi sitting about 5' from it. Support is virtually non-existent, with a required date of purchase field missing in their connection page so you can't even send them an email. So, can't contact them except during narrow daytime windows. I just want to return it under warranty, not sure I can even do that. DON'T BUY THIS JUNK!
